Remember the abused horses next door?

The owner called this morning and said he was in a money bind. I gave him $800 for the stallion (which he says is a fox trotter), two mares, and a three month old filly.

We've been feeding them grain over the fence for a while, and this morning I bought a small trailer load of hay.

When I can get some of the pasture fenced, they can graze, but at least they are provided for now.

When they are in better shape, I'll be selling them by private treaty to good homes. If any of you are in the South Central Missouri area, and are interested, let me know.

If you still have the horses, maybe you could post them through a rescue orginization? We're still in the city but when we get our horses, they will be recued. many orginizations have waiting lists to bring horses in (due to the overload of abused/ neglected) but they are more than happy to put them on thier adoptablles list. They can also advise you on how to get them back to cindition and maybe even hook you up w/ a soft-hearted vet?
Are these the same horses that had a foal on the other board?

Congrats on the rescue!
