The green tomatos can wait - even if they turn red. *hugs*nondisclosed_email@example.com (Firlefanz)Sat, 08 Jul 2006 21:13:26 +0000 Re: Garden has hit...https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p605,from=rss#post605https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p605,from=rss#post605got sick yesterday, so the green tomatoes aren't done. Maybe one day this next week..or DH may do them while I'm gone. who knows.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Saijen SilverWolf)Sat, 08 Jul 2006 18:38:48 +0000 Re: Garden has hit...https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p604,from=rss#post604https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p604,from=rss#post604I edited the topic name...lol. No more about to it!! Tuesday, green beans were picked, broke and strung (or destrung..lol) Yesterday, I canned 22 qts and 2 pints of beans...lost one qt...the bottom broke out of the jar in the canner. Today, I've canned 8 pints of squash pickles, and put up 3 qt bags of chopped bell pepper (one of those was used in the pickles) Tomorrow will be canning green tomatoes and squash...and who knows what else. I'm already worn out and we're just getting started!! nondisclosed_email@example.com (Saijen SilverWolf)Thu, 06 Jul 2006 21:12:45 +0000 Re: Garden about to hit...https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p603,from=rss#post603https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p603,from=rss#post603We had a late start this year, so things seem rather normal to me. Of course, I don't really have a garden. Elderberries are just going out of flowers, the first local strawberries are coming in. Seems normal.    nondisclosed_email@example.com (Firlefanz)Tue, 04 Jul 2006 06:49:03 +0000 Re: Garden about to hit...https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p602,from=rss#post602https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p602,from=rss#post602Cat, not so much with the garden as with other things... Lightning bugs were about a month earlier than usual...so are the hummingbirds. A few other little things like this.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Saijen SilverWolf)Mon, 03 Jul 2006 21:39:02 +0000 Re: Garden about to hit...https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p601,from=rss#post601https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p601,from=rss#post601Yes! It's been a great year so far-- but everything seems very early. I think I may be able to pull my garlic up now, and that's at least a month early (???) for here. Very weird. DH and I also took a quick canoe paddle this morning and discovered a berry patch, with just a few ripe blueberries. We usually don't see ANY blueberries until late July or August. Anyone else noticing this? catnondisclosed_email@example.com (MagiCat)Mon, 03 Jul 2006 20:57:22 +0000 Garden has hit...https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p600,from=rss#post600https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p600,from=rss#post600hard and fast. We've been eating the leaf lettuce and onions now for about a month...the radishes are coming in, as is everything else. May have to pick and break beans later today after DH gets home. Just hope I feel up to it...won't be long before I'll be up to my eyeballs in canning jars, veggies and making up stuff as I go...lol. Hope everyone else who has a veggie garden is getting good yields so far.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Saijen SilverWolf)Mon, 03 Jul 2006 17:14:02 +0000
