I still have to learn that it's not always a good thing to "engage" these people.
I guess, because of my Christian upbringing, I can identify way too closely with their line of thinking, and want to badly to "show" them the faults within that. I have to learn to pick my battles more carefully.

If they attack, then defense is fine, but I don't try to bring it up. Ignorance is bliss in many ways. If they are decent people I don't want to take away their magic by popping their bubble.

I usually tell them that Satan is a Christian God, and that I don't believe in him. emoticon

They usually don't like that. emoticon

I don't say anything in particular. I usually try to be interested and encouraging to their beliefs, family, activities. I hope to come across as interested in them as a whole and not just their religion.

If asked about what I believe, I am up front about not being Christian. Beyond that, I change the subject or tell them it is a personal topic, or gracefully leave/move on if need be. But thankfully it hasn't ever come to the point of leaving.

I am never the one to bring it up. If it comes up, it's through some question I'm asked, and usually it's a question that really needs an honest answer, or not one very easily side stepped. I hate religious debates, because they invariably get heated on the other's persons behalf. And I will never burst another's religious [sign in to see URL]'d not want someone doing that to [sign in to see URL] when someone pushes so hard, trying to shove their beliefs down my throat, then I do tend to retaliate. Everyone is entitled to their belief [sign in to see URL] that may [sign in to see URL] or wrong (right being, no harm, wrong being killing people in the name of your god). I honestly don't believe there is a right religion, or a wrong [sign in to see URL]'s how it's percieved by the followers that is right or wrong. Keep in mind, that a true religion is not a Cult of people that are willing to commit murder or [sign in to see URL] least not to my way of [sign in to see URL] here may feel differently, and that's ok emoticon
Maybe I'm not succinct enough when my thoughts are rambling here to get my view across appropriately. I hope y'all understand what I mean LOL.....

I see, remember if God(dess) is infinite and we are finite then we simply can't fathome all the intracisies of God(hood. Anyone who claims to have all the answers must be lying.

Someone who claims to have all the answers is one sick puppy!!! We, as humans, can only learn as we go, and if we continually learn, then, obviously, we don't know it all LOL. [sign in to see URL] don't know as much as I should. Sometimes I feel dumb, other times I feel rather [sign in to see URL] depends on the subject matter.

I guess, because of my Christian upbringing, I tend to be a bit more verbal about things than I should, which isn't always a good thing. I have yet to learn that there are times it's good to just keep my mouth shut, and nod.

Most of you know why the way I [sign in to see URL] that I know their bible both new and old testament. At a very young age knew it to be a bunch of [sign in to see URL] women and horses are not evil.

Anyway.. I will not bring up their false g** but I have defended others not like them when need, trying to stay as polite as possible.
Pagan to [sign in to see URL] anyone not Christian. There are many other religions out [sign in to see URL] Pagan in their eyes.
The aggressive, rude and nasty behavior is snowballing through much of the Christian communities in the US.
Sad and very scary. I already posted on another thread what I have been seeing an increase of.

If asked.. I just say I do not believe in the Christian's Satan. (which BTW was only started so the Pre** could scare people into doing what they [sign in to see URL] giving them money and power)

My son's SAT are given in a Church. First year I was asked. Oh.. you must go to Rainier Church. I said no. I was taught Religion was a personal thing and one should never ask or boast about it.
First time I saw a Christain with a lack of words.
The other thing I saw there.. their were adults and I kid you not,,forcing Bibles on the Children taking the test. My son just said ..no thank you we are not the same religion as you and the bible thumping adult went into a tyrate.
I talked to the person in charge and told them how displeased I was with this un Christian display of aggressive behavior.
And to be politicly [sign in to see URL] all Religions in the world should give out their Bibles to the Children.
Next year... there were no bible forcing adults.
Guess they either took my words to heart or a whole lot of people complained.
