house for sale....in two years

Just thought I would give all of you the inside track on this one.

I have purchased a piece of land near Alton, Missouri, that will be available in two years. The folks in the house have to build a new one first. emoticon

The house is VERY VERY nice, about 2000 sq ft. Two car garage with workshop space around the edges, three bedrooms, two baths, living room, small formal living area, two offices, and two kitchens. Yup, a very nice canning kitchen in addition to the regular kitchen. Small walk in pantry in the main kitchen.

Acreage is remote, quiet, mostly open pasture with a border of trees. Slopes down from the house to a pond then up to the property line. Very close to the Mark Twain National Forest and the Eleven Point River.

Oh Finn....that sounds soooo nice!!! Congrats on the new place (in 2 years).

It just sounds so nice, and roomy! I'd LOVE to have a canning kitchen. My poor lil ole kitchen just isn't that big. But, when you rent, you just can't do what you'd like to a place.

At least you have plenty of time to weed out stuff, and pack up and what-not.
I'm SOO happy for you!!!!

Clarification...

I'm not moving into it. When Mom had her stroke, I became Trustee of the family trust, and I'm reorganizing its investments.

Bought the house solely with the intention to sell it when the current occupants get their new house built and move out.

I posted it here because it would be perfect for a homesteader who wants a serene, slightly remote, beautiful place. Hoping someone with those aspirations says, "HEY, I might want to look into that," and sends me a message. emoticon

Sounds like a great place indeed. Well, if I'm famous in two years... emoticon

Hi Finn -

not sure how serious I am, or how feasible it is, but I'll PM you. I'm curious, and as the years go by, my DH gets stronger and stronger about his desire to move to a warmer place.

I replied to your very good questions. We sign on the dotted line on Tuesday.

The current owner, about to become tenant, says he hopes to have his new house built in a year. I will be very impressed if he can get it done that quickly.

I have pictures now if you would like to see them. PM me an email address.
