Re: well worn path

well I got my deck for my birthday (ok birthday isn't till thursday but...)

It is a nice deck, lovely artwork. I must be the biggest tarot idiot though. I got this deck because my other deck (which I've had for 3-4 years) didn't seem to disclose much, ever.

I did a reading with this one and its a bit clearer, but there is still a lot I don't understand.

for instance I ask a question (not a yes/no) and it from what I gather everything points to now is a good time to pursue this idea (positive energy). But I'm not getting what each card is saying.. Just the jist of the whole reading. What am I doing wrong. Or is this because I'm relatively inexperienced?

I'll give examples.

"the first card represents the foundation or what underlies the matter at hand".

The card in this position is mother which represents fruitfulness and nurturing

"The second card represents the expansion or far-reaching consequences or influences"

the card in this position is the old ones which represent rootedness.

"The third card represents the direction and movement"

The card in this position was reincarnation which represents renewal

"The fourth card represents the transformation or change to expect"

The card in this position was the broom which represents rising above limited prospectives

"The fifth card represents what holds the other four together"

The card in this position was hand fasting which represents partnership/union.

"The final card represents the outcome of the reading."

the card in this position was the caludron which represents potential generation or regeneration.

What I take this reading (in total) to mean is that positive energy is available for the matter I ask about, and perusing it should have favorable outcome.

Am I mis-reading something. I don't feel like I'm getting the meaning of each card (Step) along the way.

Re: well worn path

I'm just going to give my take on what you've posted, card-wise.

First position: matter at hand. card- Mother, represents fruitfulness and nurturing.

*[sign in to see URL] I get from [sign in to see URL] is going on in the here and now, you should strive to be fruitful in your efforts. Nurturing can mean soo many [sign in to see URL] nurturing(food, drink, hugs, [sign in to see URL].) Spiritual nurturing (meditation, relaxing, reading spiritual material, etc.) Mental nurturing (keeping your brain [sign in to see URL], books, etc.) Emotional nurturing (saying 'I love you', giving positive reinforments to the people you [sign in to see URL] even to those you dislike if the situation warrants it)So, don't block yourself into one mode of thinking when you see the word 'Nurture'

Second position: far-reaching consequences or influences. Card- Old Ones, represents rootedness.

*For this, I see more the influences than the consequences, although that could be wrong. Being rooted is more influencial than consequencial, I think. There are 2 sides to that, however. But, for what I'm "feeling", it's influences. Being rooted, either where you live, spiritually, emotionally, etc, can have an extreme impact on how you do things, how you think, etc. I don't see this an postive or [sign in to see URL] as something that is. If you see the consequencial side, I'd have to say that the consequences of being rooted to one place (physically, mentally, etc.) can lead to missed opportunities that would have a positive influence on your life. Or, it can have the consequences of saving you from making a terrible mistake. Just depends on how you look at it.

Third position: Direction and [sign in to see URL]- Reincarnation represents renewal.

*I see this as more direction, not as in north south, up down, in out, but within. Perhaps a renewal of your spirit, the birth of a new part of your inner [sign in to see URL]'ve learned a new skill, a new word, something new within the person itself. Or, it could mean renewal as in a [sign in to see URL] of excitement over a new place. Keep in mind, though, that not all reincarnated beings are positive (although we like to think more positively), so watch that you don't fall into the trap of thinking one dimensionally.

Fourth position: transformation or change to [sign in to see URL] above limited prospectives.

*This is a positive card, on the surface...(I'm sorry to keep bringing up the negative, but you have to see both sides, and put all into consideration when you do a [sign in to see URL] most cards are positive, then this would be [sign in to see URL] most are negative, it's likely this one would be as well) Rising above limited [sign in to see URL] can mean by doing some hard work, you can get beyond those little nasties that tend to hold you back, it can mean that someone is going to cheat their way to the [sign in to see URL] has already done so.

Fifth position: What holds the other 4 [sign in to see URL] partnership/union

*We all know(or I hope we do) what a hand-fasting [sign in to see URL] it means. It's grown more lately to mean a marriage, but that's not what it [sign in to see URL]'s an agreement to TRY living together for a year and a day, to which afterwards, if all goes well and the couple wish to stay together, they marry. If not, they go their seperate ways and find another 'partner'. That's the actual meaning. OR, it can mean a betrothal (which in the above case is pretty much the same [sign in to see URL] a bit different depending on culture)....so, what I see is that in order to rise above the limited prospectives, you need to do it with your partner/spouse/betrothed standing with you. Not behind, not in front of, but beside.

Final position:Reading [sign in to see URL] potential generation or regeneration

*well, let's [sign in to see URL] have generation, one must do something. So, you're rising above the limited prospectives, with your partner to either generate, or regenerate something.
Have you been thinking of something from the past that you think may make a good comeback and you're trying to figure out how to market it?

*[sign in to see URL] fruitful in your labors
*[sign in to see URL] rooted in your work ethics is a good [sign in to see URL] helps to transform your idea into reality.
*[sign in to see URL] an idea
*Rising [sign in to see URL] to go above and beyond the limits that are [sign in to see URL] achieve more than expected
*Partnership/[sign in to see URL] are doing this with your partner, or with his/her blessings and help in any way they're able.
*Generation/Re-generation...... [sign in to see URL] an old idea into a new [sign in to see URL] likely with some changes to improve on the old idea.

Now, I have no idea if what I just said is what the situation is or [sign in to see URL]'s just a way of helping you see what I see.

To be honest, I'm not sure that if I had the cards in front of me I'd be able to get that from [sign in to see URL] then, who knows.
I have a hard time with my own Tarot [sign in to see URL] have to have the book handy most of the time. sometimes I can do it without the book, but not as often as I'd like. I really want to learn to read the cards without having to refer to the book every time I do a reading.

No idea if this will help you at [sign in to see URL]'s just my take on it. emoticon

thank you for that reply (sorry it took me so long to get back). You're interpretation was more in depth than mine but the results were the same, so I guess we're both on the right wavelength.

Thanks so much, sometimes an outside perspective is very helpful.

Blessed be
