Garden Gloop
Last night I made a new dish here at the homestead, now called Garden Gloop. It started with 6 cups of water, 6 beef boullion cubes. Add to that 1/3 cup barley and 1/3 cup brown rice. Let simmer for about 45 minutes. Then add veggies from the garden. Huge potato, lots of fresh garlic, 4 ears of corn (cut off), lots of carrots and a huge pile of tomatoes. Let simmer until potatoes and carrots are soft. Serve with homemade bread! Was really yummy and gave me something else to do with fresh veggies. :-)
And we have leftovers which is great!

Re: Garden Gloop
That sounds really good.....I'll have to remember this one.
DH and I are about to have to pick tomatoes again. Think I'm going to do some stewed tomatoes to use in soups.

Re: Garden Gloop
My big test for today is seeing how well the gloop dries and then rehydrates. I'm hoping it will work well and I can take some of it backpacking.
