New Art Gig
So a few months ago the sort of local (16 miles away) art association that I am in, and got talked into being a board member, got the go ahead from the city to take over the street level storefront of an empty building. Great location - at the corner across from the courthouse and right in back of the Thursday farmer's market. So of course, I'm involved in this as well now. Sleep what's that?
Everyone at the gallery - there are now 25 of us, has to have a job. Mine is the schedule - isn't that fun. And we have to work at least one shift per month. So far this month I've put in 3 shifts (10-2). I was there today, because the scheduled person let me know last week that they couldn't be there, but I couldn't get anyone to pick it up - so there I was. We've been busy getting ready today for the opening of the 2nd big show which is tonight. So far I have my bath salts there and tonight I have a black and white monochrome photo there on the wall! I also have a bunch of my knitted baby hats - which sells great there - go figure? So I'm home, and soon I'll throw together a veggie plate, shower and head back to finish setting up But hopefully I can get more of my stuff to sell there, and I've got more ideas. The gal who's doing the curater duties loves some of my ideas, I just have to have the time to do them.

Re: New Art Gig
Thanks!
I didn't sell anything that night, but the gallery as a whole sold about $750 which was great!

Re: New Art Gig
I'm sorry you didn't sell any of your stuff, but happy that y'all did make quite a bit otherwise.
I soo enjoy going into our Local Artist's store here. so much I want, but can't afford, or don't have any real use for it. There is a guy here who makes the most awesome wooden bowls and urn type "pots". I'd love to have something from him, but he's a bit out of my price range. There's also a guy who does stained glass windows.....very talented/gifted gentleman.
So...you do baby caps........I have a friend who is about to have....or has just had, a baby girl. How much do you charge for your caps? I was wondering what to get them for a baby gift.....now I know
--- Blessed Be,
