Kinda excited...

I talked to my HPS on [sign in to see URL]'re helping her daughter move this weekend.
I told her that I'd talked to the one other coven mate (we're only 3 at the moment), and that this other mate is coming over here Friday and we're going to work on our ritual stuff. We're both studying for our second degree, and the biggest part of that is to know all of the stuff that is said and done during our rituals. I have a hard time learning this stuff on my own, so R is comin over and she and I are going to do it together. My HPS was glad to hear that we're doing [sign in to see URL] she said she wants R and I to put our Samhain ritual together. We always do an Ancestral dinner at Samhain (the weekend before or after, depending on when it is. This [sign in to see URL] the first weekend in Nov.) Of course, she'll have to see what we've put together to approve it and all, but I'm kind of excited. It will be my first ritual to actually put together. this means the meditation, the music, any chants we do (probably do 'We All Come From The Goddess/Hoof and Horn'..that's one we always do at [sign in to see URL]'s a harvesting [sign in to see URL] or less. It's just kind of neat to finally get to have a more active part.
Just gotta get the rest of it down pat before then. I have just about 2 months to get all my crap [sign in to see URL] hope I can do it. Memory is kinda shot at the [sign in to see URL]

Firle, I looked back the other night, to when I first dedicated, several years [sign in to see URL] now, and the difference in then and now.
I am sooo glad I did decide to do the coven thing, at least for now. I never would have learned all that I've learned had I still be solitary. And, I gained the most wonderful friends one could ask for.

A lot will go into planning this Samhain's ritual, and I told my HPS about some of it, and she's excited to see what we end up with. Frankly, so am I LOL

Re: Kinda excited...

emoticon Thanks, Fenyx. Too [sign in to see URL] maybe you [sign in to see URL]......

We're doing this on the 3rd of Nov. which is a Saturday. Would you like to come?

Just so you have an idea of what we do (This is OK to tell since what we do is an open ritual)

We usually start out with libations, while we wait for everyone to get there. When we finally make it downstairs, we start out with a chant/song, then tell a little about what this Sabbat is, and about the thinning veil between the worlds. We'll do a meditation, in which each person has an opportunity to 'visit' with a deceased loved one, be it person or animal. After the ritual, we'll all go back upstairs for a nice meal, where we will all share about the loved one we wished to visit with that evening. what they mean/t to us. It's just a nice way to remember those we love, and to verbalize what we feel. We have pictures of the loved ones, or candles inscribed with their names.....
For us, we'll probably go and spend the night Friday night and then stay Saturday night as well, coming home on [sign in to see URL] you're more than welcome to join us [sign in to see URL] have more than enough [sign in to see URL] can fix up a cot or we can take the air [sign in to see URL] let me know enough ahead of time so we can make arrangements. they won't care that we have an added overnight guest. That's just how they [sign in to see URL]'d love it!
There will be others there that have never done this, too, so you won't be the only one there that's not experienced this before.
We do try to wear all black that evening. It's the only time we are pretty specific about what we wear. I'll be in a black skirt and top, black hose and my black velvet [sign in to see URL] of course, I'll have my black cape, but won't be wearing it during ritual.
Just think about it, and let me know if you'd like to come. I think it would be awesome!!!!!!!!

Re: Kinda excited...

By the way, for anyone reading this, and doesn't yet [sign in to see URL] and I are cousins. We're about a 5 hour drive apart from each [sign in to see URL]'s in NE Alabama, and I'm in NE Tennessee.
That's why the [sign in to see URL].
[sign in to see URL] black, or as dark as you have. The first year I went, one girl had on all white. It was her first time, too. If you wanted to do a pair of dark jeans and a dark shirt, that'd be ok too. T usually wears his black jeans and a black T-shirt with is work boots, so it's not strict on that. Dress to be comfortable. First timers need to be [sign in to see URL]. It's stressful enough going to a ritual for the first time, with people you don't know, so, if you decide you wanna [sign in to see URL] bring something on the dark-ish side to wear. Unless you wanna make you something really neat to [sign in to see URL] go for it. LOL>
I really hope you do decide to come up, I think it would be just too neat for you to see the kinds of things we do. Plus, I'd get to spend some time with you!!!!!

I think it would be so cool if you were able to come. I know Daddy wants to come up sometime this Fall, if he's able, but probably with [sign in to see URL]'ll have to talk about this further.
