Need some help, please

Since I am working on our Samhain ritual, I've been all over the place looking for the magical properties of some specific things, and I can't find diddly squat.
Here is what I'm looking [sign in to see URL] anyone help by either telling me where I may find a site to get this info, or if you have some of this, could you please share?

Since it is a Harvest Sabbat, I had thought using these items, not only mentioned in our meditation, but to actually give to the attendees.

Apples
Oranges
Squash (those little ones that look like pumpkins)
Nuts of various types(Acorns, walnuts, pecans, etc.)
Gourds
Corn (going to use Indian corn)

HELPPPPPPpppppppp LOL

Personally I think these would be better for Mabon then Samhain. Samhain is the meat harvest where Mabon is Vegis and Lammas is grain. I will look and see what I can find on these Items.

Thank you, Eddy.

One reason for these [sign in to see URL] are what you usually see in displays this time of year, and we are having some non-pagan guests this year that we don't want to throw too much at, at one time. Most of these guests are very interested in our path, so we don't want to give them too much, too soon, and confuse [sign in to see URL]. Heck, I still get confused. And, to be honest, I didn't realize this was the 'meat' harvest as you put it, but it makes a LOT of sense. You've already gathered the veggies, the gardens are done, now is the time to hunt for the meat to get you thru winter. [sign in to see URL] our meditation, and what-not, meat isn't a good option, if you know what I [sign in to see URL]. I CAN put into the meditation about meat sources being [sign in to see URL] rabbits, deer, etc.
I know you don't post often, but when you do, it's always something really [sign in to see URL] I want you to know how much I appreciate that!!! emoticon
How is Jules? and the rest of your coven?

I went to my favorite metaphysical store today and got Scott Cunningham's Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs. It also has some stuff on the fruits and veggies I mentioned. I also pawed through their store copies of some other books that had some good stuff, and ended up having them order all 3 of the other books for [sign in to see URL]. I also ended up purchasing some Nag Champa oil, Sandalwood oil, a bumper sticker that says "Nature Is My Church", a 'Wheel Of The Year' notebook paper size poster and a CD of The Gyuto Monks, [sign in to see URL]'s rather interesting. I also got a box of Nag Champa incense cones. Spent WAY too much money. The 3 books I ordered, I won't have to pay for until they come in, and if I need to, can do them on a lay-away deal.

Since the Goddess I'm using is [sign in to see URL] dark Goddess, the leaves I bought had to be painted. They WERE really pretty red, burgandy and green silk maple leaves. Now, most of them are a deep burgandy, brown, [sign in to see URL] in pretty much dead leaves. I was going to put them on a very pretty piece of deep green fabric, but decided to purchase an inexpensive black Halloween cape from Wal*Mart to sew them to. Will be a lot easier. I also have some raffia to add in a few places.
I'm learning a lot thru this process. It's great!!

Re: Need some help, please

I [sign in to see URL] bless my HPS's heart, she suggessted we have a Samhain class, which is wonderful. She realized, apparently, that my coven mate and I have forgotten some of the things that are done in the ritual, but then, when you've only done 2, and you didn't DO the actual ritual, just participated, you don't think about some of the smaller details that while small, are so very important. So, at some point we'll have a [sign in to see URL] soon.

I bought some of those silk leaf 'ropes' but I think I may not use those. The leaves I painted were all individual ones in a [sign in to see URL] come 80 to a bag, for 97 cents. A lot easier to paint than the ones on the 'rope'. I'll just use the rope ones to decorate around my house, since it was my own money I spent.
Now, to figure out exactly how I want to display the 'food' and plant stuff for the ritual.
To purchase plastic fruit and veggies, it's going to get rather expensive, so, I had thought of maybe printing off pictures of the stuff, on the backs, writing what it's magical properties are, and if I have enough room, what some of the uses are, then maybe laminate them using some of those self laminating [sign in to see URL] those in the basket rather than having the real thing. I am also going to put some pinecones and actual nuts and the little pumpkings and gourds in the basket, to help make it look nice. What do y'all think?
