Re: What spiritual thing did you do today?

I can't say that I have perfected this, but it's also the thing I am trying for.

One thing I've noticed, though, which you-all may have noticed as well, is that it is exactly those times when you don't want to do it, like when you're tired, bored, depressed, or angry, that you most need to do it.

It's funny, now that I think about it - my biggest obstacle is boredom. You'd think that boredom would cause me to do more things... but, paradoxically, when I'm bored I don't want to do anything...

Well it wasn't today, but I got a chance to see a couple fantastic sunsets on the drive home from work. I'm all driving down the highway; when there's no traffic, snap, snap, take wild pics out the windows. I probably took 30 and there may be 3 useful frames, lol.

And today I noticed that I can see the house now that the maple trees have dropped their brown leaves. But the willows have held onto their yellow leaves. Makes a real pretty lace in front of the house. SO says they're probably frozen on. True enough, lol

I sit quietly beside the pond, after I let the ducks and geese out of their pen. They are penned at night for safety. I watch them and the joy they have of being in the water. Its a type of meditation, I try to absorb some of the positive energy.

Re: What spiritual thing did you do today?

Today, it is so nice and warm outside. I took a can of catfood out to our outside kitty, then realized the dogs didn't have any food in their dishes, so decided to feed them while I was out there (even though I am sick). I noticed when I went into the wolf's kennel that his water bucket was empty, and dry. So, I had to play with the water hose to get it to work right (we have a splitter on the spigot and I can never remember which valve does what to which [sign in to see URL]). I finally managed to get the water flowing, and the poor wolf boy drank straight from the hose. DH usually takes care of the feeding and watering (the other 2 dogs have the creeks and ponds they can drink from if their water bucket is [sign in to see URL] wolf has nothing). He was one happy boy. He still needs more [sign in to see URL]'re about out, but he's been fed and watered, and I actually feel a little better (I did this between posts here..) just for being outside for this past 20 minutes or so. Headache is about gone and my tummy has settled down (some of that is due to a phenergan)...but I'm in a better frame of [sign in to see URL], that is my spiritual doings for the day.

[sign in to see URL] just sounds so relaxing!

Re: What spiritual thing did you do today?

I received an Aura massage last night - the most amazing thing you can imagine. A shaman friend of mine offered it. She actually just worked my aura while I was prone on the floor with my eyes closed.

It took a while to be noticable, but I was much calmer and relaxed afterwards, and this morning, my cold is much better and I feel very peaceful and centered.

Amazing. I'm so grateful to my friend. emoticon

Firle, that sounds so delightful!

I know what I posted didn't sound very spiritual, but when you're not outside as often as you need to be, just going out when it's nice out can, indeed, be spiritual, just of itself. It didn't hurt that I was with my animals, and my wolf boy was over-joyed that 'mama' was out there, even if for a brief time. My animals never cease to amaze me.

Saijen, being outside is often a healing experience. We're meant to be in nature, and I always enjoy feeling the weather on my skin and breathing the fresh air. I'm just not doing it often enough.

Today I took a short walk around the field next to where I work. Looking at the animals, the clouds, feeling the wind, and listening to what it had to say. I had to relax and try to regroup my thoughts, and try to find a new direction for my life. We take so many things for granted sometimes, and never realize just how fragile life is, and how delicate the world is around us until we loose someone we love. I lost my partner of 8 yrs a couple of weeks ago on Feb. 13th to an accidental OD of pain meds. I feel his spirit around me almost all the time. In our apt, my truck, every where I go, we had gone there together. We had made many plans together, including a formal hand fasting, but none of those plans will happen. I look to nature, with all it's beauty, weather in a quite stream or raging storm, or the face of a kitten, or flight of a bird, for guidance and strength. I think I will make shorter term plans and act on them quicker in the future. And I think I will be taking many more walks, remembering.
