Size shifting?
I have a talent that is common in my family, and for many years I assumed it was normal. Basically, I can be my 'normal' height of 71 inches, or I can reduce for long periods to 66 inches, or stretch for long periods to 72½ inches. I can have my normal 44 inch chest, or shrink to 38, or stretch to 46, and then inhale to get bigger. My feet are usually size 13, but I can shrink them down to a 10, or grow them to a 14.
Are we the only size shifters left, or can any of you guys do it too?
We can change other things too, but then it gets weird.

I can't say I've ever met anybody who can do that before... That's pretty wild...
It must make it easier to buy closthes though  .
Wasn't it Lon Chaney who was supposed to have such control over his muscles that he could change his face at will? I wonder if that's the same kind of thing...

People have told me that I sometimes appear much taller then I am when I'm "commanding" an audience. I have never actually measured myself, but I presume it's more of an interpretation than a reality in my case.
Can't say that I know anyone else that has that talent either!

My Grandmother told me that in ancient times it was useful to avoid identification by inquisitors - we would be seen one size, and facial description, and be found another size with a different face - obviously related to the 'evil one' they sought, but not them. It saved some of us more than once, and got us out of troubles.
I use it for amusement of others, and on one occasion I needed to immediately replace footwear, but could find nothing my size - I shrank my feet and wore a size 11 for 14 hours with no discomfort at all.
My Lady enjoys the sight of me shrinking and growing - She has the ability to lengthen her neck.. She is also a hereditary witch, but not related to my family at all. She cannot stretch anything else, but the neck growing longer is something to see. I know it was the Goddess that put my Lady and me together - we would never have found each other without Her help, and our similarities make us very comfortable together - I remained single for many years, because I could not find anyone that could be comfortable with me.
Meeting others with similar abilities would be a comfort, I think. Being different is OK. but tends to be very lonely.

have any of you had the experience that someone tells you you look "different," but they can't quite pin down how?
That has happened to me. I also seem to be really good at NOT being noticed. Blending in.
And from a yoga perspective, this is really interesting. When you get quiet enough, you can sense or make changes in your body. Example -- if I get very quiet, in a meditative state, I can lengthen my spine, even if nothing was visible to anyone watching. It's just getting really tuned in.
But maybe some people -- you and your Lady? -- are really gifted in this area, moreso than what I'm describing.

I can honestly say that, to the best of my knowledge, I've never met anyone who is a size shifter.
Cat, I've had people tell me that something is different about me, when I've changed nothing...but not sure what it is they're seeing. I think, in some cases, people are more attuned to things like auras than they may realize, and they see a change there, perhaps.....I really don't know.
muladzh, I can imagine it's quite something to see a person transform like that. I wish I could tell you YES...I know what you mean, but I refuse to lie to my friends! (or anyone for that matter..but mostly to my friends). I'll have to keep my eyes and ears open and see if I come across others like you and your family.
 I do hope you find some others like yourselves!!! I know how lonesome it is to not have others to talk to about things like this!

I have spent most of my life being very different, so it is not as lonely as it used to be as a child. But I would change nothing - I am happy, content and comfortable in the chaos of this random mess called society.
(I am now back home in Indiana, and glad the trip is over - 5 days, in a rental truck with no power.)
