posticon I HEAR THEM!!!!!!

Those wonderful little 'Spring peepers'. The little bitty frogs that are around wet areas....creeks, ponds, etc. Around here, those announce Spring. It's so nice to hear them...all day, all night.

I've been able to have my doors open the last couple of days. I don't do the windows just yet...too much trouble with the storm windows (they were built bassackwards), but it sure won't be long now.

I've noticed little green leaves on my rose bushes, the hostas' stems are greening up, one of my lilacs has little buds on it.
DH and I have been doing some outdoor spring cleaning. Getting leaves out of the flower beds and out from under the back porch. I got leaves out of the fountain, then DH cleaned it up really good and got it running again.

Grilling out will soon be going on again (YES!!!), which means outdoor meals.
We have a plastic patio table. It WAS white, but with rain and what-not it was various shades of green, brown, etc. We decided to paint it with that Krylon Plastic Paint. We got a nice brown textured one, cleaned the table with a mixture of water and amonia (per paint's instructions), let it dry good, then painted it. It looks like an expensive table now, and it matches our patio chairs better..lol.

I'll also be spending more time outdoors...even with the computer. I am set up where I can go online while out on the porch...either sitting at the small bistro table or on the swing. Not a bad deal....emoticon

In case you can't tell....I'm SOOOOOOOOOOO happy that it's starting to warm up...and I can open doors, or get outside!!!

How's the weather where you are??? Do you hear any lil froggies...or other Spring herolders??

Here, we can't keep the doors open yet, it's just too cold. However, the first flowers of early spring are growing, and the birds are singing in the morning!

That's a sure sign spring is coming, although we had snow last night, and hail coming down this afternoon!

<sighs>

It's snowing and blowing. Under a winter storm watch/warning through tomorrow night.

My garden seeds are calling me to plant them, but I can't even start them for another couple weeks yet (our plant date is June 1st up here).

Someday.......... emoticon

We have about 2-3 weeks before I'll hear the peepers down here. I thought for a while that the winter was passing, but now it's cold again, freezing rain...

But I'm hoping this is the lasp gasp of the bitter cold...

I thought winter was over for sure - hit 90 yesterday!!! Been too busy to watch the news so I was sure shocked when I stumbled out the door in a t-shirt to feed the chickens at the crack of dawn in the 40 degree windy, wet weather! BRRR! (yes, that's coming from the thin blooded Texan - I'm sure that would be down right balmy for some of you, but come on, it dropped 50 degrees over night!!!)

Frogs.... a favorite subject of mine.

Winter most certainly isn't over here - 14° F this morning, didn't climb over freezing all day.

Narf! It's freezing cold here again and one awful windstorm last night. Snow on the ground this morning, and I nearly wiped out getting out of my car at work - frozen puddle nicely camoflaged under the snow.

On the up side - the turkey buzzards are back. emoticon

Re: I HEAR THEM!!!!!!

This week we have Cranes flying about - hundreds of them, looking like flying walking sticks - there were frogs about last week, but we are back in the frozen zone so they are all gone. I saw five buzzards flying yesterday - what a majestic bird they are....

I saw trace of the family of Hog-nosed snakes this morning, I hope they don't freeze to death as they are the nicest snakes I have ever met - they are not in anyway aggressive, will play dead rather than bite, and eat everything that we want rid of - mice, moles, beetles, rats if they can find any, other snakes that we don't want, and birds that stray into the fruit bushes.

Well, here it decided that winter wasn't quite over yet. It was cold and blustry yesterday, and just above us, it snowed up to 3 inches....more in some places. We didn't get any, so I'm glad of that. It's cold today, and rainy. I want those 60+ temps back, please!!!!!
