Re: Today

Curious, I've had 3 different doctors do the procedure on me. Did they by any chance remove any polyps from your esophagus or any other area while they were in there? That could explain some of the soreness. If not, it may just be because it was the first time you've had it done, and you're just a tender lil thang. emoticon
I do hope you're feeling better. It's not fun trying to eat when it feels like someone's been skating in your throat with sandpaper skates on. I also hope the rest of your family is doing much better!!

Well, I went for the sleep study and they had to add pressure to the CPAP during the night. The highest pressure mine is set for is 14, and that's pretty [sign in to see URL] had to push it up to 17. I was woke up at 6am to start the daytime study.
The daytime [sign in to see URL] was given breakfast at about 7am, then I had to lay down at 8am to see if I went to sleep. I was asleep in approx. 1 minute. I did NOT go into REM sleep during any of the naps, [sign in to see URL] I don't have narcolepsy. They woke me up at 8:20, the I had to lay down again at 10. Second time it took me about 3 minutes to fall asleep. Awoke at 10:20, then had to lay back down at noon. Awoke, ate lunch, then at 2 had to lay down. Each of those times it took me just a bit longer than a minute to fall asleep. Since I did not go into REM sleep, they stopped the test at 2. I don't know what anything means at this [sign in to see URL] being able to fall asleep so quickly and all. I should find something out by next week.
After I left there, DH and I went to get something to eat, and while we were eating my FNP called to tell me that the ultrasound they did of the mass in my abdomen showed it was larger than the CT scan showed. It's approx. 10.9 cm. The FNP says it has to come out, so I'm looking at a hopefully minor surgery. I called my best friend's daughter (she's an OR Tech) to ask who she'd reccomend for a surgical gynocologist, and she gave me a few [sign in to see URL], I'll call my FNP Monday and give her those names. The daughter said this type surgery is generally laproscopic and day surgery so it's relatively easy to deal [sign in to see URL] goodness. No idea yet when that will take place. I'll keep y'all informed.

Re: Today

Well, that's a big amount of news.

Hope they'll figure out something after that sleep study - I'd have the hardest time falling asleep in a strange place with all those cables on my head!

Not so good about that surgery. I'm glad it's not going to be a full one, laparoscopic sounds good - much less pain and risk. Hope you'll find a good one and all goes well.

*hugs and healing* emoticon

Re: Today

I got lucky with the surgeon. He was one of the ones my friend's daughter mentioned as being 'the best', so I know I'll be in very good hands. I'm not the least bit worried about this now. The biggest curiosity thing [sign in to see URL] wonder if this is what has been making me sick? I'll just have to ask and see what he thinks emoticon

I got some of my lab results back this morning and all is normal. [sign in to see URL]'s a really good thing. This being sick thing is actually looking more and more like a medicine issue. I'll have to take that up with the med manager for that particular med. If that's all it is, talk about an easy fix!!

That's good news, Saijen! Glad you're feeling better about this.

Today, I called in sick because of a migraine. It started yesterday at around noon, and somehow, all the tapping didn't help. *grumbles* I'm annoyed, because I've helped so many people with a migraine and can't help myself. emoticon

Wow, interesting about the sleep study. I might have been able to fall asleep for the 8:00 one, but probably none of the others. I'm interested to hear the interpretation.

Sorry to hear about the surgery, but laproscopy is the way to go if they need to do it! That's a relief!

Re: Today

Well, things have changed just a little. Because of the size of the mass, they are going to have to open me up. I'll be in the hospital for 2-3 days, and depending on some lab work taken yesterday, the surgery will most likely be on May 1st.

I can't remember what the blood work is called that he did yesterday, but it is to determine the probability of this mass being cancerous. I asked him if it wouldn't have shown up in all of the labs I've had done so far, and he told me no. So, if the level is over 200, I most likely have cancer. If it's under 200, it's most likely benign. I should find out one way or the other by tomorrow. Hopefully today. If it's over 200, I'll have to see a cancer gynocologist to have this removed, if it's under, the doctor I saw yesterday can do it.
I don't FEEL that there is anything negative with [sign in to see URL] it's just simply some type of cyst that needs to come out. I'm hanging on to that.
As I get information and am able to post it, I'll do so.

Well crud. I'm squeezing my thumbs too!

And it's good that they are getting you in so soon! With my gallbladder, had it not been an emergency, they couldn't have done it for another 2 months!

Thanks Firle and Texas for the thumb squeezing. I'm doing that, and then [sign in to see URL]. My poor body is going to look a bit contorted by the time I get the information I'm waiting on emoticon

[sign in to see URL] guess it's a good thing I'm not afraid of being cut on. To be honest, what bugs me the most is them having to put the IV in. I have HORRIBLE veins. Is that bad, or what? LOL.

A good day [sign in to see URL] saw my pain doc. We are now settled into a routine of me seeing him every 3 months unless I need to see him sooner. I had to tell him about the surgery, and that they will have to give me pain meds, and he said that as long as I let his office know what they are giving me, I won't violate the 'contract' I have with his office and all will be OK. So that was a good thing.
It was a good day to be out and [sign in to see URL], with a good stiff breeze that was a tad on the cool side, but very nice, none-the-less. I had several errands to run, and I decided to take back roads to avoid the traffic lights on Main, and I saw so many pretty flowers in people's yards. I'm really glad I went a different way today.

Tomorrow is 'prep' day for Friday's doings. I'll be home all day tomorrow. I'll probably finish up laundry, and who knows what else I may get into. emoticon I'm hoping it's as nice as they say it's supposed to be. If it is, I'll be spending some time outside!!!! emoticon

I hope y'all are having a good week so far.
