Things seem to be going OK

I saw my surgeon Thursday, and he said things are healing nicely...even the 2 holes I have. The only thing he is a bit concerned about is the pocket of fluid under my skin. I have to go back on the 22nd, and if it's not yet been absorbed, or created it's own outlet to drain, then he may have to do something about it. This is the place I thought might be some kind of infection. Other than that, all is well.
He told me I can get in a swimming pool, just not to swim out to the deep end, in the event I tire out all of a sudden and can't get back to the shallow end. Ok..I can deal with that. I also asked if I could do a little mowing, and he told me sure...just that if I start to hurt....stop!. I mowed all of the front yard and a good bit of the side yard before I had to finally give in. I was rather proud of myself emoticon
I asked about going to the wildlife preserve and walking around, and I got the OK for that as well...with the same stipulations for the mowing. If I hurt...stop. Which isn't a problem there. Benches everywhere to just sit and enjoy the peace.
I am still restricted on the amount of weight I can pick up....15 pounds is the limit...which means I still can't pick up my grand neice. I'll be so glad when that restriction is off of me!! I sure do miss that youngun.

Ok...well, I'm kind of in a pinch here time wise...I still have to pack and get a shower and all that good stuff...so, I'll finish replying to posts when I get back!

Y'all have fun, and no gooey stuff in the house while I'm gone...keep that outside! :P

Re: Things seem to be going OK

We spent Saturday night with our best friends. We had a double date...their daughter had the little guy. We went to see the movie Angels and Demons....the beginning was a bit of a snore, but a bit further into the movie, it really got good. Afterwards, we went to this awesome BBQ place. We all ordered what the place called Double Trouble. It was a 1/3 of rack of Baby Back Ribs and 1/3 of a rack of St. Louis ribs. Talk about gooooood eatin!!!! I had a baked potato and some spiced apples. Very good meal. After we ate, we went to the local Civic Center to see the Miniature Wall of Peace...which is the wall in DC with all of the Vietnam Vets names who were killed there during the war. I must say....I was in awe of the amount of names listed. I couldn't imagine....still can't. If this wall comes anywhere near where you are and you can get to it...please, go see it. The ground below the wall was littered with flowers and small American flags. Some medals in bags were laying below some panels. Under one panel were 2 pictures of one of the men, along with the American flag that was draped over his casket. Of course, there are people there 24 hours a day to ensure nothing gets taken. It was done outdoors, and was open 24 hours a day for about a week.

We then went to pick up the little guy and headed home where we relaxed and talked a little then went to bed. Sunday, the guys went to the property they own to mow and weedeat and all, me and G and the little guy stayed at home and just took it easy.

Sounds like a fun time! Hubby and I have been considering going to that movie but I think we'll wait until it's out on video.

I saw the one in DC. Wow...just wow. It's is HUGE and just gives you a sense of dread, shame, appreciation and honor at all once. Very odd feeling.

sounds like fun.

Angels and Demons is a movie I'll probably get when the DVD is for sale. I've read the book and it was good.

I might have to go read it again soon.

Nice you had a relaxing day after all the fun.
