That is actually how I found the group I was/am with. The HPS and HP are a few years older than myself and my DH, and we have all become best friends. Many times, our 'group' things consist of just the 4 of us, and my DH isn't completely like minded. If you want an explanation about that comment, just ask lol. Our group never was very big, and as classes got harder, many left until there were just 2 of us as students. I was initiated first into the coven, the other student was initiated about 2 months later. As she and I worked toward our second degree, it seemed neither of us could remember some things and the HPS got a bit irritated with us...and rightly so....then the HPS went back to work fulltime, so our coven essentially came apart. The other student is no longer someone in our group. One of the ones that left earlier on left because of work that took her to another state. She is back now, and that makes me happy. she's been involved with our gatherings since she's been back. Most of our gatherings are open...meaning you don't have to be a coven member to join in the celebrations. Anyway...I got WAY off topic....find a reputable metaphysical store and just ask some questions. They may, or may not, be able to help...but you won't know unless you ask nondisclosed_email@example.com (Saijen SilverWolf)Fri, 29 Jan 2010 21:22:41 +0000 Re: Solitary or Group?https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p233709,from=rss#post233709https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p233709,from=rss#post233709Definitely solitary. That still applies, though one member has now left home. nondisclosed_email@example.com (muladzh)Tue, 12 Jan 2010 05:19:40 +0000 Re: Solitary or Group?https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p233677,from=rss#post233677https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p233677,from=rss#post233677With the Blue Moon on New Year's Eve my group got together to do our annual Tarot for the up coming year. Also to plan on getting back to our weekly lessons. This brings such peace to me. Our group consists of 8 regulars ranging in age 26-61 and 4 kids 8-10 who love every aspect of the craft. My granddaughter takes charge of smudging everyone. This Weds. we are making talismans using our witches boards that we made last year, that will help us in this new year of 2010. Being with like-minded people helps me realize that I am not alone in this Christian-based town. Good groups are hard to find, I am so blessed.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Zephra2)Sun, 10 Jan 2010 20:54:55 +0000 Re: Solitary or Group?https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p233675,from=rss#post233675https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p233675,from=rss#post233675Definitely solitary. Groups generally speaking make my skin crawl. It seems like you get people together and no matter how well intentioned at some point it ends up becoming petty and political. So I prefer loose affiliations. Like this forum, or twitter or facebook. Places where I can dip in and out of the river.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Toriach)Sun, 10 Jan 2010 20:45:53 +0000 Re: Solitary or Group?https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p233671,from=rss#post233671https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p233671,from=rss#post233671You know..... living in the U.P. I was pretty isolated... no known groups near me. Since we've moved down here.... I know of at least two groups.. I just haven't made an attempt to connect with them to feel them out yet. I probably should... to look at it as a "learning experience" if nothing else.... But I've read soooooooooo many things saying most "groups" are just young folks rebelling against "Christianity", lots of immaturity, blah, blah, blah, blah. I have so little patience for such things... It's a fault of mine I should really work on because I'm probably missing out on a good thing... nondisclosed_email@example.com (PerpetuallyCurious)Sun, 10 Jan 2010 08:25:16 +0000 Re: Solitary or Group?https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p233651,from=rss#post233651https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p233651,from=rss#post233651Both, actually. I do a lot of works on my own, but spend time with a group for some of the Sabbats. I enjoy doing the works alone because I can do things the way I'm comfortable with, and not how someone else says they are supposed to be done. Celebrating the Sabbats is always more fun, for me, with a group....especially Samhain. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Saijen SilverWolf)Wed, 06 Jan 2010 20:43:02 +0000 Re: Solitary or Group?https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p233515,from=rss#post233515https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p233515,from=rss#post233515I have never fit into any groups (or perhaps I'm just to curious to stay in one place long)...... so I'm completely solitary nondisclosed_email@example.com (PerpetuallyCurious)Mon, 14 Dec 2009 08:11:42 +0000 Re: Solitary or Group?https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p233490,from=rss#post233490https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p233490,from=rss#post233490Solitary there is no group close and now that I have walked this path for several year it is the one that fits me best. For years, barring weather or illness, we got together every week for some learning or fellowship. It seems in this busy times everyone is either working, going to school, away for the holidays or just plain tired. So I have been solitary mostly. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Zephra2)Mon, 07 Dec 2009 22:55:34 +0000 Solitary or Group?https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p233392,from=rss#post233392https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p233392,from=rss#post233392Do you always practice alone or do you have a group that you meet with - on a regular basis, occasionally, etc?
