Re: TexasMadness

All is well! I'm 34 weeks in a few days, so really progressing now! I've finally graduated from regular clothes to maternity clothes as I've REALLY packed some pounds on in the last few weeks. A bit shocking to steadily gain 2 pounds a week...!

Little Widget is still really active...and can now reach my ribs. emoticon I constantly have to move a little foot off of them! I am having some back pain, but nothing severe - more like fatigue of the back. Heartburn has become more frequent of course! But a lot of that is my fault as I'm hungry ALL THE TIME and I typically stuff my squished stomach too much these days. Just in the last few days, I've started to sleep a whole lot more, so I think the baby is going through a growth spurt!

The Monarch and I still aren't 100% ready (is anyone ever REALLY ready?!?). Still need a few more odds and ends and we don't have the bed setup. This weekend is going to be crazy with a party at the farm, but I'm hoping to do all the last minute details next week. At 36 weeks, I can give birth at the birthing center, so really I'm just a little more than 2 weeks away from the time period when I could have a routine birth. I get butterflies in my stomach now when I think about it. Reality is FINALLY setting in! emoticon

TM, all the best! You've been a real trooper, with the farm and all. I'm sending best of luck for you and the Widget, may it all go well and easy.

Texas...no, no one is ever truly ready for a baby to come.....but regardless, it all works out to the perfect T.

I agree with Firle....you HAVE been a real trooper. You have had so much going on...between being a wife, having an outside job, the farm, and being pregnant....that's a lot.

All the best to you, Widget and the wonderful daddy-to-be emoticon

Yeah....unfortunately because Hubby was in the Navy, we were always very far away from my Parents...but my Sister lived in the same town.
So Grandma and Grandpa have a much better relationship with her son, than with mine. emoticon

Re: TexasMadness

I'm so glad my folks live here in town. My husband's parents are in Colorado...BUT, his only sibling is moving to Austin in the summer! So now the real pressure is on to get the whole family to move down here. I don't think it will ever happen - both his folks have lived in CO their whole lives and love it there. But maybe a summer home? Nix that, a WINTER home in Texas, summer home in Colorado! emoticon

The aches and pains are finally starting to slow me down. Not sure if it's just because of the absurdly rough weekend we had or if it's just 35 weeks...but either way, I'm wondering if I shouldn't take maternity leave a little early. I would LOVE to be sitting on my couch eating ice cream right now instead of reviewing my notes for the staff meeting!
