Anything pagan going on around these parts?

I see this forum hasn't been posted in for a LOOONG time!!!

Imbolc just passed up by - anybody do anything to celebrate it? It was the perfect reminder for me of what winter means as we were gripped in the big storm. Other than noting the day, I didn't do anything special.

I haven't had much time for anything but I feel like I could have MORE time if I made the time to listen to my inner pagan self - the part of me that is more aware of my surroundings and what I'm doing. To slowly nurture that side of me again, I've started walking to work again. It's not something I had time for when Willa needed me every second possible and I didn't have the 20 minutes to spare. But even with the COLD, I've been getting out in nature. It was 18F today (and this is TEXAS remember!!!) and I got my heavy clothes on and took off. It's a different landscape out there in weather like this since nothing in nature knows what to do around here!

But that's about it for me. How about you guys?

Other than trying to be with nature as much as possible, wearing my charm and thanking Brighid, drinking herbal tea....ummm, not much.

I hear ya on cold...we are in Las Cruces, NM just north of El Paso...we woke up last Thursday at MINUS 7! emoticon

Wow, good of you to ask that question.

I haven't done anything Pagan, to be honest. Some meditations, some chakra work, LOTS of EFT and inner growth, though.

I've done a few spells. I only go out when I have to.....with the medical problems I have, going out in this cold lands me in bed on pain meds for several days. When it's nice out, though, I've been out.

I do talk to the Goddess, quite frequently, actually...for guidance, help, to thank her, and such.

Saijen, I think you no longer have your spirit guide, correct? How does your communication with the Goddess go exactly? Do you "hear" words in response or feelings or simply the way your life moves after a conversation with her? As an atheist who has simply never experienced the divine, I'm always so intrigued by people who CAN experience it in a personal way (as opposed to an enforced prayer or something via a more organized religion).

Actually, come to think of it, I have done spiritual work. You may find the "Conversations with God" in the Library. While that sounds Christian, it's pretty clear that "God" in this book can also be the Goddess, her consort, and any kind of "universe" one can imagine.

So while I'm not doing many rituals (did one with a friend on Halloween), I still think I'm growing spiritually.

that's great, Firle!

I am thinking of creating a talisman for one of my girls to help with a relationship problem. I'll know more this next week if I need to or not.

My Son told me I have "Alara" within me. I've talked to her, but she does not answer in ways that one would perceive to be words. More like feelings or help in decisions on which way to go...though I know for a fact that when hubby, son and I were in his neurologist office and the nurse was taking son's story down...I got a distinct impression that there was a bit of a fight going on in my head.
After we left and before I could say anything, son said, "So how did you enjoy having Mom and Auntie (my Alara is his aunt and he has Ayla his mother) arguing inside your head?"
I said.....NOT GOOD! I felt like I was shooting daggers into the back of that womans head! He told me basically I was, as Ayla is slightly nastier tempered and did not like that woman at all...and my Alara is more easy going and gentle....and less powerful.

Needless to say, I guarantee that the nurse FELT my daggers... emoticon

The first time I "felt" Alara, I was caring for a small aloe plant that my son's Pagan Pride club had sold for a fundraiser...and I felt this tremendous peace come over me...I asked, "Goddess, is this you?" And I 'felt' such warmth and I swear in my head I head..."yes, silly girl..I've been here all along." emoticon
Duh..loving nature, nature saving my life......geez, if she had smacked me in the head it could not have been more clear! emoticon

Re: Anything pagan going on around these parts?

Queeny, you just validated me!!!!!!

It seems I have constant 'conversations' going on in my head, and I KNOW it's not just me..that there is a second party involved. My DH thinks I'm nuts when I bring it up, but I know better.

when I had Kiya with me....a spirit guide, I could talk to her, just in thought. I've told this story before...but will tell it again.
DH and I used to clean an office building on the weekends. When we went in and started to clean one weekend, I commented to my DH that I felt like I was being watched. There were no cameras in the place, and no person. I shrugged it off and went about my job. We got ready to go...DH was setting the alarm, and I heard, very loudly and plainly an almost scream "DON'T LEAVE ME HERE ALONE" I asked DH if he'd heard it...he said he'd heard something, but couldn't make it out. I, out loud, said..well, if you don't wanna stay here, get your rear in gear and come on.
In the truck, going up the interstate, the questions were non-stop. "What is this we're in...what kind of wagon is this?"...it's called a truck (now, this was all going on in my head)...ok...truck..so, are the smaller ones trucks too? No, those are called cars. And the bigger ones? Those are semis, or tractor-trailers. What's those big things with the words? billboards, they tell people about businesses that are around, or to help keep people safe. ...and on it went. We stopped at a Mexican restaurant for supper....and the questions continued. How do those lanterns work (referring to various strands of colored lights hanging from the ceiling)..those are called light bulbs. and on it went. As time went on, Kiya helped me with many things, and I found out she was, in life, a Native American...from a plains tribe that is now extinct. Her village was massacred...she was killed in that, when she was 66. Kiya left me several years ago, and I really do miss her, but apparently her job with me was done.
So, I'm glad that I'm not the only one who has things like this happen...and it helps to know I'm not crazy!!! LOL
Ok....I am crazy, but not to the point of needing to be commited! emoticon yet..anyway!

Queeny and Saijen, I know it's not always fun to have that kind of guide and conversations, but I do envy you.
