Re: Anything pagan going on around these parts?

Thank you Saijen! I found an interesting site last night. Now I don't know if it's good or bad, lol but I want to read it over.

Re: Anything pagan going on around these parts?

Firle, for some reason, I knew you were using the empathic part of you in your practice. It would seem assinine not to use that kind of gift for your chosen profession.

I fully understand trying to tamp the empath in you down when it comes to the problems of the world and the people in it. It can definitely become extremely overwhelming. I had to learn to almost cloak my emotions in a lead lined case, so to speak, in order to go day to day. I wish I could tell you how I did it, but to be honest, I'm not really sure. I think it was just a survival thing...it was either cloak it, or quite literally drive myself into an early grave.
I can not talk to anyone who's had something hard happen and not well up with tears..even now. And, like you, I do tend to cry over some news items and such. I cry when I watch some of the regular shows on TV...things like Extreme Makeover:Home Edition, or things like that. I always have to keep a tissue handy (or 6 or 8)!! It's not always a good feeling.
I also have extreme bursts of anger on some things...which is also part of the empath. Things that I've not experienced, but can feel the total indignation of them. My DH gets on to me sometimes about it. I know he worries about the extent that my emotions run sometimes...but, it's all a part of who I am, and I'd not change any of that for anything!!! I'm glad that you're doing something helpful with the gift that you have!!! emoticon emoticon

Bec, one thing I want to say right off....be VERY careful of some of the things you find online.
I am on the site you posted, right now, so that I can kind of look, and reply to you at the same time.
I am currently looking at a 'Love Spell'..and I noticed the warning at the top...it's not nearly enough of a warning!
Anytime you do something like this, while you've not used a particular person's name, you are binding someone to you...possibly they are not a totally willing participant. Also, it does not give you any other guidance on how to phrase any thoughts, in order to keep it from being an unwilling binding.
I REALLY liked the Bardic Beltaine Ritual....very nice

I added the site to my favorites for further study. Like many sites you'll find online, it has it's good and bad....and inbetween! LOL.
If you find a ritual you think you'd like to try, but you're not sure about it...either link us to it, or tell us about it and between all of us, we should be able to help you figure out if it's an OK thing or not.
Enjoy your wanderings emoticon emoticon

Thank you for the warning. I enjoy reading but to be honest I'm not really into actually doing rituals... at least not yet. I just find it interesting.

Re: Anything pagan going on around these parts?

Bec, I read a lot. Pagan stuff, rituals, Feng Shui, Law of Attraction, even Conversations with God. And I take from it what feels good and sometimes even try my hand on something.

I did try a full ritual once. Drew the circle, called the elements from the cardinal points - and felt the POWER, even though I was doing it almost all in my mind, without props. My goodness! It scared me so much that I thanked the elements for coming and supporting me, apologized to them and broke off the ritual. I wasn't really prepared, to be honest, and I started doing it almost on a whim. That was a huge mistake, and I'm just glad I knew how to break off a ritual without having that power I called up work against me.

So Saijen is right, there is danger. Don't want to scare you, of course, but it's like driving a car, I think. It's safe once you know what you're doing and as long as you follow certain safety rules. There just is no driving school for rituals. emoticon

Knowledge is power....but power gained without PROPER knowledge can be deadly....very good analogy, Firle!!!

If you ever find yourself in a situation where you have gathered too much power and it's stuck all over you....just kneel down and place your hands..palms down on the ground/floor....and visualize that power seeping back into the earth...and let it flow. I've had to do that several times..and I knew what I was doing when I called the power! LOL....it happens...just gotta know how to handle the aftermath.

And please do at least the miminal self protection.

Always when you are trying a new ritual/spell Take a moment and think about what you are about to do who and how it will effect you and others.

Are you ready for the Karma or result you are asking for???

White Light yourself or use whatever protection method you prefer.
