Spring Equinox

I'm not sure what's going on in my head. But I have been anticipating the Spring Equinox with much excitement and maybe a bit of trepidation. I've never felt this way before a holiday. I just feel like something is going to happen - some change. So I'm trying to still myself and listen to my inner thoughts to help prepare for and utilize this opportunity.

I've been talking a lot lately about connecting with nature and our community more by living closer and lightly on the land. Hubby and I have been reexamining our diet to see what we can change to live healthier for ourselves and the environment. We are FINALLY getting a garden planted at our house again (it's been 2 years! emoticon). We have devised energy saving schemes and waste reduction plans. But a lot of the plans have been a bit scattered, poorly implemented or still undeveloped. I have a feeling that with the official start of spring, a new motivation and commitment will begin.

But I'm also leaving myself open for other possibilities. I've been spending more 'quiet' time (not reading, not planning, just thinking) and am eager to see what else pops up.

Anybody else feel anxious about the new spring? I just get the chills thinking of "new" and how it applies to me!

Re: Spring Equinox

I wish I were more excited. I'm anxious for the warmer temps, and plants to bloom and to get my hands in the [sign in to see URL] it will stop raining long enough for the dirt to dry up enough to play in it.

For the last 9 months, I have dealt with death after death and illness after illness (my own [sign in to see URL] someone elses), and I'm exhausted. I am hoping that Springtime brings healing to all around me, including myself, but am almost too afraid to hope!
I would love to have this 'zest' you have right [sign in to see URL]'m glad you are feeling that something is about to happen and, from your post, I gather that it feels like something good. I hope so. I think we could all use something GOOD right now!!!

I think it's something good. There's definitely a worry factor involved with it though. Not sure if that's just because any change can be worrisome or if I need to be more alert to something not-so-good occurring. I'm just trying to feel it out right now!

But I hope the new spring brings new times for every one - a fresh start!

I'm very excited too! Almost to the point of being 'giddy'. emoticon
But I'm also totally emotional. I cry at the drop of a hat over anything! emoticon
Very strange to say the least... emoticon
I am looking forward to the Spring [sign in to see URL] with more excitement than interpretation. These things and deaths going on around us are making me very nervous though.... emoticon

Re: Spring Equinox

I'm so eager for spring, it's incredible. And yet, I've forgotten that we're close to the spring equinox. Just thought about it this morning when I woke up too early again.

emoticon Some Pagan, eh? Forgetting the holidays.

Ah, well. I'll be on vacation on that day, so maybe I can actually celebrate it my way. Hope it'll be warm enough to be outside. We're having frost tonight again. *shivers*

Re: Spring Equinox

We will actually be at our friend's house this coming weekend (weekend of the Equinox)....don't know if we'll do anything or not.
I think I could possibly be a bit more excited if the weather were actually a bit warmer.

Texas, for what it's worth, I don't 'feel' that whatever is coming is negative, or [sign in to see URL] different. and different enough that it may initially cause some problems, but just the kind that you have to deal with when things [sign in to see URL] with the Daylight [sign in to see URL] to get used to it and allow internal clocks to readjust. That's how I see this.
Just hope I'm right, now! LOL

Re: Spring Equinox

And it just got better! Coming up is the 'Super moon' Spring Equinox. The time when the Spring FULL moon is closest to the Earth! It's to be the biggest brightest full moon in over 20 years. Saturday’s moon is a “perigee” full moon. That means that the time of full moon coincides with the moon’s closest approach to Earth. That can make the moon around 14% bigger and 30% brighter than one of the more distant full moons. The last full Moon so big and close to Earth occurred in March of 1993.
OH AND CONTRARY TO STORIES GOING ROUND THE INTERNET AND NEWS PROGRAMS....
Perigee Moons do not trigger natural disasters. The "super moon" of March 1983, for instance, passed without incident. And an almost-super Moon in Dec. 2008 also proved harmless.
It will raise tides a few inches causing some beach erosion and the pull of the moon being so close "COULD" cause more pull on the surface of the Earth. The Moon does not cause this, it is NOT the harbinger of death and destruction. If Mother Earth is ready to move then she will [sign in to see URL], during or after the Moon's appearance. But it can affect "MOODS" and health in those who are attuned to the [sign in to see URL] you Pagan, Wiccan or simply someone who loves to garden or walk in the woods or sit by a placid [sign in to see URL] are attuned and the 'pulls' do affect you. But this is a NEW BEGINNING...
[sign in to see URL] do not sit glued to your [sign in to see URL] out about Sunset (about 7pm here) in your area on Saturday, when it will be closest to the horizon and should look "huge and Orangy"...
I even told MY MEMBERS [sign in to see URL] well, some are just freaked out about the whole 'gravitational pull' thing! So I even explained why I'm excited, I said:
I'm excited because this is what Pagans [sign in to see URL] or the Spring Equinox...
The name Oestara comes from the Anglo-Saxon Goddess, Oestre. Oestara is the Goddess of the East, Dawn, and the Spring. On this day, people celebrate the return of Spring, it is a time of rebirth and regrowth.
SO, I'm just letting you [sign in to see URL]'t fret, get out of your houses, watch the moonrise and soak in the coming of [sign in to see URL] happy and rejoice in the small miracles that surround us [sign in to see URL] tip of a daffodil showing through the snow, the chirp of a Chickadee when all seems [sign in to see URL] change in the breeze, bringing in that 'fresh' [sign in to see URL] air that when you smell it, it say SPRING and makes you gaze out the window or go walk round the block. Open your heart wider than the endless sky and take in her blessings... emoticon

I'll probably have some of them calling the loony bin to get me put in there! OR questioning how much of my drugs I took! emoticon
BUT [sign in to see URL]'m a happy camper! emoticon
