Re: Spring Equinox

We will be at our friend's, and they were my HP and [sign in to see URL] it would be a neat thing for us to sit outside and watch, together. We rarely do anything for the Sabbats or Esbats anymore, and I miss that. I really do. I may be more solitary in my path, but I do enjoy getting together with like minded for the 'holidays'.

Thanks for the info on this Moon, Queeny!! emoticon
I take it you're feeling some better?

Re: Spring Equinox

I hope so too. I have NO idea what is happening to me today, but I'm so antsy it's not [sign in to see URL] not exactly in a good way.

I have to wonder if it's the pull of the Lunar situation. My body feels like it's about to come unglued!!!!
I am having to watch my [sign in to see URL]'ve noticed, just in the last couple of moments, that I'm almost hyperventilating. I can NOT sit still.

This has all just started in the last 3-4 hours (it's now 5:18pm my [sign in to see URL] started around 2:30 or so), after doing some major cleaning in our bedroom. We have a problem with mold on the outside walls of our room, so I have been in there washing the walls down (some of it actually stained the walls and baseboard!!!) Got the room put back together, swept the floors good and sat down to take a break. I had been sitting for less than 30 minutes when my right leg went [sign in to see URL]'t hurting or even achy, but it felt like if I didn't move, I was going to [sign in to see URL]. I got up, went back to work and as long as I was moving, it wasn't bad, but let me [sign in to see URL] stand still to do something, and it starts up [sign in to see URL]'m currently sitting in my chair with my leg propped up on a foot stool with a rather large massager under my leg to see if that will help that part. I hate this feeling. It makes me want to just scream, and scream and scream. This is VERY reminiscient (sp?) of when I went through withdrawals when my pain patch was causing problems due to too high of a dosage. My patch now is fine. So, it's either problems from breathing in the mold spores, the cleaner I used to wash the mold off the walls, or the Moon [sign in to see URL] telling which!
I know the Moon's phases have a profound effect on [sign in to see URL] births happen around a full moon than any other time of the [sign in to see URL] a general rule. The police have more problems around a full [sign in to see URL]. I'm hoping that's all this [sign in to see URL] that I'm just so tuned in that it's already affecting me emoticon

I did watch the moonrise yesterday - with friends!

We met at noon at the farmers' market, bought all the stuff we wanted and then met again at my place in early evening to cook it all. Great fun!

So, I had my Ostara celebration in disguise, after all. emoticon

Very cool, Firle!

We didn't do anything particularly special...
We sat on their front porch for a while soaking up the wonderful day, with a glass of wine, then M grilled some BBQ ribs that were Soooooo good, and we had a salad and some Chibata (sp?) rolls, for dessert, warmed apple/raspberry pie with vanilla ice cream.

We spent the night, and headed home around 2 this afternoon or so. Not a bad weekend. Was very enjoyable and that moon was gorgeous!! I was afraid it would be too cloudy to see it, but it was perfect!

Re: Spring Equinox

I think the moon effected me as well. I was really tired and not with it all yesterday. Also I didn't sleep well last night - was awake at 3am and then at 6am but managed to go back to sleep both times (which I didn't manage on Saturday when I was also up at 6am!).

However today I am feeling like it is a new "dawn" or something like that. Maybe it is just because I am on holiday and I am more relaxed but there is deifinitely a weight off my shoulders now the Equinox has happened.

Re: Spring Equinox

We had planned a wonderful day yesterday but life had other ideas for us! The Equinox is also our anniversary, so we were going to do something special. But rats chewed through our washing machine hose (again!!!) and I was sure the part was going to come on Saturday. But when it didn't, I realized that the TWO WEEKS worth of laundry that had piled up needed to be done. Instead of sitting at the laundry mat, I asked my mom if we could do it at her house. So we crammed the car full of dirty clothes and headed over. So the day was spent washing and weeding/playing in my mom's garden. But we had a good time anyway. Felt good to be outside. And it did end up feeling "new" afterward. I'm invigorated to get things going around the house!

]Snagged some pictures [sign in to see URL] only had my small camera so they are a bit fuzzy! emoticon

I was "hyper" all weekend. We were out all day Saturday, got the Moon [sign in to see URL] thanked the Earth, Wind, Water, Fire and Spirit and breathed in the new...

Then Sunday Hubby and I tore into the RV and cleaned out all the cupboards, closets etc. Tossed one garbage bag full of crap and donated 2 more! emoticon

SAIJEN...do you know that the chemicals including "BLEACH" is worse for you than the normal 'mold'...if it was "BLACK MOLD" then you needed a professional to clean it.
Black mold and the chemicals used to clean regular mold, as told by most home improvement places can and will cause cancers in some people.
If it's just regular every day mold that can grow in bathrooms [sign in to see URL] just wash down with soap and [sign in to see URL] dry. It it keeps growing like in a bathroom, install a powerful vent [sign in to see URL] it at least 20 minutes AFTER your done in [sign in to see URL] repaint the area with mold resistant paint.

DO YOU EVER WATCH ....Dr. OZ or Mike Holmes? Well they were actually together and were talking about this...

The 4 Deadliest Rooms In Your House — How To Tell If Your House is Toxic

The 4 Toxic Rooms In Our Home
Is your home a safe zone, you may be surprised — Today on Dr. Oz was with Mike Holmes from Holmes On Homes and Toxicologist Gary Ginsburg. When you close your windows and lock your doors your trapping far more dangers in than your keeping out. Toxic mold, mildew and dust mites make your home theirs. Breeding on your walls, pipes, and tiles. There are things in your home that can emit harmful chemicals, and gases that permeate the air, getting into your body through your mouth, eyes and your lungs. Would you know your house is TOXIC.

Mike Holmes say every home has toxins in it, the question is how bad is it. There are 4 toxic zones of house that are discussed by Dr. oz, Mike Holmes, and Gary Ginsberg.

Toxic zone #1 is the bathroom. Mike says the mold in the bathroom is formed from 2 food groups–mold wants to eat and drink. We give it plenty of moisture when we get a shower, using the tub etc., and feeding off organic products such as the paper on drywall. They showed a clip of mold on both sides, the outer side was not like the back side, it had black mold. Sometimes black mold will get so black that actually dust mites will grow and bury itself in and start feeding on the mold, the dust mites will die and the mold will feed on the dust mites which begins a continuous cycle.

Dr. Oz’s concern with the mold is that those little spores will fly into the air, and then travel into your lungs, as they go down your lungs they burrow through little pathways deep into your lungs, once there they can do all kinds of things to irritate your lungs, they can cause asthma attacks, they can cause bleeding inside the lungs, and other infections.

If you find mold you can clean it yourself if it 10 square feet or less, don’t panic and do not use bleach to clean mold. Use soap, water and a mask, brush it and clean it off. If you want to check and see if your ventilation is working properly in your bathroom, use a tissue and see if the suction of the vent holds the tissue, if it doesn’t it isn’t ventilating enough.

Toxic zone # 2 is the family room, this room because if you are in an older home it may have lead paint, under the new paint. Mike Holmes says Lead paint is not good for you, it is worse than mold. To tell if you have lead paint in your house you can use a lead test strip, rub it on the old paint that may be under the new paint, if it turns pink you have lead paint. Do not remove it yourself, call a qualified professional. Medical problems with lead is if kids get lead in their body it affects their brain function, their not smart anymore, cause seizures, hearing loss, and if your pregnant it can cause miscarriage.

Author Dr. Gary Ginsberg commented also on toxins in the home. Dr. Oz promoted his book “What’s Toxic, What’s Not” Dr. Oz The 4 Deadliest Rooms In Your House | Shocking Headache triggers, it’s about little things you can find out for yourself about toxins around the home. He explained that if there is lead paint on a window sill, and that paint chips from one window can contaminate a whole child’s bedroom.

Toxic Zone # 3 is your basement. Especially in older homes asbestos wraps for your pipes, years ago they put asbestos in the wrap because it was a fire rated product. It’s also in vinyl tiles, ceiling tiles, so depending on the year you have another big care, this a really big scare over mold. Did you buy your home before 1975? that is the year the legislation changed and you could no longer incorporate asbestos into the lining of vinyl tiles. If you find asbestos do not touch it, poke it, do not play with it at all — DO NOT PUT THE SPORES INTO THE AIR! It’s very dangerous, mold is nothing compared to asbestos says Mike Holmes. Asbestos can kill you and will kill you.

Dr. Oz says when asbestos fragments and gets into the lungs, it like little pins that go down into your lungs, and through the trachea and into the deep lung area it will impale the lungs like spears, and cause scarring which can cause cancer, and not just of the cancer of the lung but cancer to the lining of the lung, called mesothelium.

You can also find in the basement is radon, radon is a radio active gas. You can get a radon kit to test the air, and instructions as to where to send it for testing and get the results. And we all need to be concerned about gases of your furnace.

Toxic zone # 4 was in the backyard — Pressure treated wood was arsenic infused before the 2005, it is recommended to be stained once a year with an oil base stain.

Re: Spring Equinox

[sign in to see URL] that you didn't get to do what you had planned, but glad you had fun with the alternate [sign in to see URL] if it was doing laundry and weeding. Did you ever figure out how the rats are getting into the washer hose?????

Queeny, LOVE the Moon photos!!
[sign in to see URL] lil [sign in to see URL] cleaning! Good on ya!!

I know how Dr. Oz [sign in to see URL] heard of the other guy.
I am pretty sure that this mold isn't black [sign in to see URL] mold we have is sort of a greenish-brown color. I pulled up photos of black mold, and while the way it looks is the same as far as size/shape, and what it looks like is the same, the color is not.

Just pulled up a symptom list of mold [sign in to see URL] went hmmmmmmmmm.....

Symptoms of black mold poisoning:
Common symptoms of black mold poisoning are:
1•Uneasiness in respiration
2•Headaches
3•Cough
4•Red eyes
5•Development of rashes and hives on skin
6•Nausea
7•Memory loss
8•In some cases, people experience bleeding in lungs
9•Lethargy
10•Dizziness
11•Lack in concentration
12•Problem caused due to irritation in mucous membranes
13•Asthma
14•Allergic reactions (such as itching of nose, runny nose etc.) of respiratory and/or nervous system etc
15•Irregularity in blood pressure
16•Damaged digestion and respiratory system
17•Infections of urinary track, problems in urination etc.
18•Pain in liver and other internal organs
19•High level or prolonged exposure to mold can lead to infertility in the patient

[sign in to see URL] [sign in to see URL] have problems such [sign in to see URL] rare ocassions....#1, #2, #6(rare ocassions), #7, #9, #10, #11, #15, and while I don't have a problem with itchy nose so much (I do have a problem, but I have severe seasonal allergies)...I have a horrible problem with my hands and feet itching really, really bad and sometimes I can feel bumps under the skin. Too small to be hives, but now wonder if it's not the mold. It doesn't say that only black mold can cause these symptoms. I'm wondering now if I don't need to call someone to come and check this stuff out!!!

The article says to use an air purifier to help keep the mold spores to a [sign in to see URL], we do have an air purifier which we use, but we need a dehumidifier as [sign in to see URL] we had already determined.

For some reason, we don't get mold in the main bathroom, with is the only one with a tub/shower. The bathroom where the mold was has nothing but a toilet in it.
We just painted our room and that toilet closet (that's about what it is! lol) and I honestly don't think using a mold resistant paint at this point would do much good until some insulation is put into the walls.

I can lay a shirt or pair of pants across my little stool that I keep up against the wall when it's not in use, and when I put that on the next morning, it feels damp to me. DH says it's just [sign in to see URL] it feels damp. The only walls that are getting the mold are outside walls. We have a great deal of condensation on the insides of all the windows in this [sign in to see URL] with storm windows on the place.
As for installing [sign in to see URL] [sign in to see URL] our place. Both bathrooms do have pretty strong ventilation in [sign in to see URL] vents that pull moisture [sign in to see URL] the one in the main bath is used anytime we shower, and it generally stays on for a while after. There's no telling if there is any mold under the ceramic [sign in to see URL] tub/shower is on the outside wall and that is the only place where there is tile. the other 3 walls are all interior walls. We have mold behind the clothes dryer in the utility room. None in the livingroom, oddly enough, none in the [sign in to see URL] in the back bedroom that we've found and none in the kitchen. Just the utility room, dining room, our bedroom and the toilet closet.

I was not able to get all of the mold off the wall behind my clothing armoire. When I did clean it, I didn't use [sign in to see URL] used a special cleaner that DH uses for such things in his job. They have to be trained to clean some of this [sign in to see URL], I wasn't the smartest cookie. I knew I should wear a mask, but I didn'[sign in to see URL] did wear gloves, and did not touch my face, [sign in to see URL] else, and showered when I was done, washing hair and [sign in to see URL]'t want those spores all over me!!! [sign in to see URL] call to see who around here looks at the various molds and have someone come and just see if this is normal house hold mold, or something [sign in to see URL] since I couldn't get it all.
