Playing with the Universe at my side

Now, this is a really funny story, but you're the best group to appreciate it.

Last week, I agreed to come to a seminar on Sunday (network marketing stuff). I started to rue it fairly soon. Because there was a marathon happening in the town, we decided to go by train. For me, that means leaving at 9:30am, and getting back at 9pm or so.I much prefer someone driving there, egoistically, because we get home much earlier in that case. And then I thought I'd be wasting one of the great days on the balcony, because the weather was just gorgeous on Saturday.

So, I was grumpy about it all Saturday evening and Sunday morning. I tried telling myself that I was looking forward to the speaker, that I wanted to meet all those nice people again (which I did!), so why should it bother me so much?

Anyway, I left at 9:30, determined to enjoy my walk to the train station. I did, it was nice and warm. I didn't even take a jacket and decided against bringing an umbrella. I felt totally safe.

At the station, I found out the train was scheduled to leave 8 minutes earlier than usual, so I sent a txt message to my group leader. They didn't come. I got nervous. I got stressed. Train was one minute from leaving and I called my team leader, only got voicemail. Told them the train was gone and I was going home. (Relieved to get home!)

I turned around, and one lady of the group came right at me. She grinned and said there was still plenty of time. I shook my head, pointed at the last waggon just pulling out of the station. We huddled, trying to determine what to do. The next train would make us late.

We took the car, team leader was driving. emoticon

Made great time travelling to the city. Then we ran into a roadblock just a block away from our destination. One of the ladies asked, and we got permission to pass the block. Woohooo! We got there in record time, in great weather. Everyone was happy.

Seminar started late, because the speaker got caught in traffic. emoticon While we went outside to take a breather during the wait, I could see clouds rolling in. First few sprinkles of rain.

During the next two breaks, it was raining. When we left the seminar, we got to the car just fine, strolling through balmy air. (I love the smell of the air just after a rain.) Got into the car, started out home and within five minutes it was pouring! Thunderstorm!

We got home in great time, despite the rain, and the sun was just coming through when I jumped out of the car, in front of my home. I was laughing all the way up to my apartment.

The universe gave me exactly what I wanted: A ride to the seminar, and bad weather during it.

Queeny: Indeed!

Yes, it was a nice seminar. I'm doing Amway (yeah, I know, another thing on my plate!), and this was a seminar organized by N21, a schooling company for Amway IBOs. It was good. Gave me nice motivation (although I'm taking it easy). I knew the speakers from CDs, but it was much better seeing them live.

Weather remains iffy here, with high winds and showers (some of them thunderstorms), but I've been safe on my walks. I once made a deal: I don't get rained on when going to work or back. Usually that's what happens. (Occasional exceptions are okay.)
