Re: Assumptions about religious stance

Haven't been anywhere lately. Problems with both family and in-laws. Nothing new there.
Dwarf apple tree in back yard. Bears just enough tastless fruit for neighborhood squirrels.
Mother-in-law decided she wants to make a bunch of apple pies emoticon Which means my wife will do all the processing.
Father-in-law told me he would be over to spray for worms. I started thinking about my hawk in building less than ten steps away from branches. Pesticides are deadly to birds and reptiles. I told him that spraying was not possible this year because of the risk to the bird.
 "But what about the apples".
"I'll buy you a case of decent pie apples".

I'm causing problems and stress for her 80 yr old parents.

I found a nice looking Tree of Life small silver pendant. I wear it around my neck. My sister, who lets Jesus decide what she should do that day, happen to see it.
"Take it off ! Its Satanic" !!!

  You can't fix "stupid".

Oh, falconr,

you're not causing the problems. No letting pesticides into your yard and protecting your bird is your decision. If your father-in-law cannot understand that, it's his problem.

If your sister is not willing to accept that some symbols other than the cross can have a good meaning, that's her problem.

I am sorry you're feeling the stress, though.

Falconr, let me ask you a question. Outside of the in-law problem, and the problem with your [sign in to see URL] YOU HAPPY IN YOUR PATH?

If you can honestly answer YES, to that question, then the best you can do is to continue on your path, being happy that at least YOU know where you are, and why.

Not giving in to your father-in-law is not a bad thing, despite how it makes the others feel. Those pesticides are not only bad for the bird, but for your family. If he truly wants to spray, do a little research and find an organic way that won't harm the bird, but will take care of the [sign in to see URL] let him have at it!

As for your sister, gently remind her that you do not bash her choice of religion, and would appreciate if she would at least give you the respect of not bashing yours, regardless of how she feels about it. Allow her the feelings she has, but you do not have to allow her to cause more problems. Reminde her that the Tree of Life is mentioned in the [sign in to see URL] is called the Tree of Knowledge of good and [sign in to see URL] 2:17 She will balk at [sign in to see URL] it is one and the [sign in to see URL], if life does not give knowledge and wisdom, what does it give????

I really hope you're able to at least get people to understand the dangers of the pesticides, and hopefully, your sister will eventually see that the Tree of Life is a GOOD [sign in to see URL] is nothing evil or satanic about [sign in to see URL] is a symbol of [sign in to see URL]'s shade gives respite in the heat of the day, shelter for animals of all kinds, it puts oxygen into the [sign in to see URL], in all of that, is anything negative or satanic???? Maybe you can use this line of thinking to help her figure it out.

good luck and know you're among friends here, and we're always willing to listen, help and do what we can to make life a little better. I'm sending white light your way!!! emoticon

You have to love those christians... in 1523 they invent something evil called satan, then they call every 3000 yr old pagan symbol satanic. A 'friend' of ours saw my Tree/ Pentacle ring yesterday, and is now avoiding me. Every year, about now, I take off my Eagle Sight ring, and put this one on, until a fortnight past the Solstace.. maybe in July they will stop avoiding us. As I said, you gotta love 'em.

If anyone objects to the avoidance of pesticides, you should tell them that stupidity like that is caused by the pesticides.. emoticon

I tend to ignore anyone I am unlikely to meet in my next life. That keeps the bigots, idiots and hypocrites from bothering me.

Another friend is being divorced by his christian wife, who is telling huge lies, just to get a lawyer to go after everything.. She ain't turning any cheeks or forgiving anything whilst she ignores the honesty thing. I would be tempted to turn the lawyer into something nicer, like a cockroach.

Muladzh, don't you just love how so many professed Christians act like anything but? I have to admit that I have met Christians I would call true Christians, but most of what I meet are more Christian in name than in [sign in to see URL] think THEY think if they get baptized, then it's all [sign in to see URL] can act like a donkey's backside and still go to [sign in to see URL]'M A CHRISTIAN! I think many are going to get a very rude awakening when they find out it's nothing like they've been taught!

I've not worn my Pentacle for a while, simply because I do enjoy jewelry and it doesn't always fit what I am wearing. And, I don't have the need to 'advertise' what I am all the time. Most wouldn't have a clue it's a Pentacle, to begin with, unless they are Pagan or Wiccan and can see it within the body of the design. I've worn it around my Mother, and she never said [sign in to see URL] don't know if she avoided the topic, or she didn't notice what it was.

[sign in to see URL] love life, I tell ya! LOL

Well, darlin'......I seem to be causing problems for my OWN 80 year old parents, so don't feel badly. emoticon
If you are happy in your [sign in to see URL] is truly all that matters.
I wear mine all the time, but then it's rather fancy and fits with pretty much anything.

Don't give a damn any more who sees it either. It's right at the top of the crook of my [sign in to see URL] the whole world to stare at and if they have an issue with it. Then we were not meant to be friends. emoticon

I love yours, Queeny! It's very, very pretty. I love mine, but it's not as fancy. It's on a long enough chain I could probably tuck it under some of my tops I wear, but not all. I've not worn it in quite a [sign in to see URL] need to clean it (it's sterling) and wear it some!!

Son's and his girlfriends are both the same way as yours. [sign in to see URL] completely [sign in to see URL] wears her inside her shirt. But say's it likes to be close to her [sign in to see URL]'s has a red stone in the middle...'he's a fire'..and he usually wears his on the outside.
I think each is an individual thing ya know?
