Ho'oponopono

This is not strictly Pagan, but I think it fits this part of the board because it is about ritual and inner growth and energy work.

I'm reading a book about it and learning a lot of the background - and starting to love it for its simplicity.

Ho'o means "doing it". Pono means "right", so Ho'oponopono means "doing it really right". I love that.

Basically what you do is to connect yourself to something or somebody that's bothering you and then say or think these phrases to clear it:

I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
I love you.
Thank you.

That's all. And basically, you're always working on yourself as well as the world, since we're all connected. When I do it enough (and you can extend the phrases to add whatever you want to say), I end up feeling grateful and peaceful.

Fascinating [sign in to see URL] I get more time I'll have to investigate more.
But I have to tell [sign in to see URL]'s a lot of fun to just say! emoticon

I read some of [sign in to see URL] to concentrate on some things at the moment. I'll go back and read it more when I can retain what I'm reading. From what I read, it looks [sign in to see URL] what if you've forgiven [sign in to see URL] asked for forgiveness? Of course, I may be looking at it wrong right now, too. emoticon Will definitely go back and read it again!

I like the word, [sign in to see URL] I like what it means!

It's a bit drastic, really. Because it works on the assumption that you are 100% responsible for what happens in the world. And it's about finding the part in yourself that called forth what you're seeing in the world. That's what we look at, what we're sorry for and what we forgive ourselves for. That's followed by affirming the love for ourselves and thanking the universe for making it all possible.

So it's not about forgiving others, or asking forgiveness of others. It's basically about one's self.

Sort of in a nutshell. Like I said, it's a bit drastic. It feels very good doing it, though.
