Has anyone ever wished for 'proof'

I mean........Well, I don't know what I mean. emoticon
I know I have a Spirit Guide, I know I chat with her in my head.(At least I think I do...I only assume this because of my conversations and because at times I can make a post, that is so 'deep' that it could NOT possibly have come from my mind, I'm NOT that educated.)
I can't or don't do the actual "rituals" needed or said to be needed to prove your worth.....(not surrounded by understanding people. No room to carry necessary items.)
But have any of you ever wished you could have solid, hands on, in front of your eyes, proof of a Spirit Guide, or your Goddess? A written scroll from thousands of years ago, or something to 'prove' that we (Pagan/Wiccan) existed before any other religions.....I know that many Covens have Book of Shadows or written history dating back thousands of years....and I so envy them.
Am I the only one doubting myself at the moment?? emoticon

Re: Has anyone ever wished for 'proof'

Proof is not something you should seek, because the seeking of it nurtures doubt. I have proof, but don't need it; we do have thousands of years of success, that goes against all odds, all written down in many Grimoires, but that has value as history not as proof.
Is your Guide real? Probably not in a concrete tangible form, Guides by nature are Spirits and as such cannot be proven by any science, but I know the Spirits that accompany me are very real, and they very rarely 'talk' to me, usual communication is the 'in the head' sort that is vague and easily missed if I am not concentrating.
If you think you have a guide, and that guide helps you, then you have a guide, an intangible, unproven but real Spirit Guide.

Only the cynical and stupid need proof and I know you are neither of those.

Well, yes, I have wished for something. Like the people in angel stories who found a feather the next morning.

On the other hand, I have so often received communication so clearly that it seems silly to want tangible proof. Like the day sometime in spring when I was wishing for a new partner while sitting in the train. Up came a huge billboard saying "Your new partner is waiting for you!"

Of course, it was an add for a dating site, but it sure made me laugh. There was my answer, too big to overlook.

Re: Has anyone ever wished for 'proof'

Thank you Muladzh, for some reason that post was most comforting. I've been chatting with Saijen and she's also quite wise. And so dear. I think it's "where" I am at the moment, the Karma here crackles with hate.....and I try so very hard to keep "UP" and positive that it drains me. I also work myself, push myself way more than I should......I used to do it, so that I could get the hell away from here as soon as the "jobs" were done. But now, I need to stay, because of "FAMILY" and each is growing so old and frail. I know I'll regret every 'nasty' thought that passes through my head, but on occasion......they just pop in and I can't stop them! At least I can or so far can keep from saying them... emoticon
My energy is draining away, I hurt and I'm so emo that I feel like crying pretty much constantly. But I think it's this place.....it 'hurts' me to be here.
When I asked the question above yesterday, it was a rough day.....very emotionally rough! emoticon
I realize that I do have a Spirit guide, or I'd have not found this little site in all of space and time. And I do know she guides me.......she has to or I'd have fallen off the Path by now.
Thank you for the gentle hand to guide me back on.......maybe my guide sent you to post here first.

OH FIRLE..........I got this in my horoscope this morning:

**********A lot of details are still up in the air about a big event or adventure -- and some exciting travel plans might have to be put on hold a little bit longer. Unfortunately, the uncertainty around you will only grow for the next few days. If you can increase activity in your life right now, you will be able to concentrate on keeping yourself calm and positive about not knowing everything all the time. Let the universe take you where you are supposed to go. ************

So I hear you in the weird signs department!

Of course, we doubt ourselves and have dark days. And you're in a rough place, most definitely. I hope you can go free soon.

Re: Has anyone ever wished for 'proof'

Queeny, when I first started on the path, I wanted proof as well, but as I went along, I realized I really didn't need proof to believe what I felt so strongly in my heart...in soul. Others may require proof...those outside of this path, but for me, if they're too blind to see the good, then any proof that's provided would only be in vain, as they'd find some way to attempt to explain it away. As with Christianity....there is no proof that God is the creator....it's just written down in a book...it's a story, and the life of Jesus, I do believe he walked this earth, is, as Muladzh said about what's in the Books of Shadows, just a historical account..not tangible proof.

One way to get rid of negativity is to wrap and onion in red yarn and sweep that onion over every inch of your space. Problem is, you can't do that....so, perhaps another suggestion is, if you can find a black candle (white will do if you can't find black) and either, on a small piece of paper you can put under the candle, or etch the words into the candle, put down what you need to happen. It can be single words instead of whole sentences. Things like Peace, Goodwill, Positivity, Acceptance, Happiness......etc. You get the idea...and allow the candle to burn for as long as you can. A scented candle, in your case, may be good.....you can use it as an 'air freshener' emoticon I doubt it would be questioned since you do use incense. The etching, if you go that direction, doesn't have to be deep....the closer to the top of the candle, the sooner that thing is poured into the Universe. So, etch the most important things toward the top of the candle....all the way around. If you don't want to use words...then use symbols. A peace sign for peace, a smiley face for happiness, a plus sign for positivity, an open hand (can even be a stick figure hand) for acceptance. If someone asks what the heck you're doing...just tell them you're doodling. Any other words you want to put on the candle, think of what marks would symbolize that need, if you go with symbols, rather than words. A toothpick works well for etching...or even a pencil, but that tends to make rather large lines, and if you're using a small votive candle, you need smaller lines. If all else fails, write down what you need on some paper, and if you get a few minutes to yourself...take the paper and burn it, allowing the ashes to take to the wind. Also, any amulets/charms you may have, may need to be recharged. I know you have at least one.....are you keeping it charged???? A stone you find in the yard, a feather, a snail shell...anything natural works great, too. Whatever you use needs to be a natural material....metal, wood, stone, gems,fur/feather....do not use man-made stuff like plastic, vinyl....it won't hold the charge, and it just generally bad to use for this kind of thing. Actually, it's not good to use in anything you do that's Pagan/Wiccan....natural is always best!!!

As for your guide, YOU know she's there...that's all the proof you really need. I was so sure that the conversations I was having in my head when I had my first guide, was all me, that I really did not pay attention.....until some things were said that there is no way I had any knowledge about. I had to look some stuff up. Some words were given to me...Native American words...I've never learned, or spoken NA of any Nation. I made calls to just about all the Native American Nation Headquarters, all over the US and talked to their linguists. Cherokee, Blackfoot, Navajo, Sioux, Cheyenne, Apache. I had 2 words. I found the meanings with the Navajo and Cherokee....and also an alternative with the Sioux. One word was Navajo for Hello, the other meant 'Man of the South' or ' He comes from the South' (Cherokee/Sioux respectively)....my guide, at that time, was a Native American woman...but not from any of the above mentioned tribes. She was murdered in 1866 during a massacre of her village....they were Plains Indians....another tribe took the survivors in. She would never tell me which Plains tribe, just that it was in the Mid-Western US. Never doubt the voices in your head, unless they are telling you to harm yourself or someone else....then you'd better go get help!!! emoticon
You need to try to create an armour around your spirit.....think no-stick teflon....whatever comes at you just slides right off. That can be another symbol for your candle, is a breat plate, or shield...or even a bubble...with a stick figure inside (put your initial next to the figure to represent that the figure is you). I wish I were there to help you!!! OH....on the candle, very lightly in the very top so that it's melted quickly, write: In All That I Do, May I Find.....then put your symbols around the candle....that way, it covers you inside and outside your MOHO.
I hope this helps get you some much needed relieve!!!!

Saijen you said it !! Queenie your on your path but you just need to accept your guide and follow YOUR path. We are on this earth for a short time before these bodies die make it the best you can. All the proof you need is inside you, you just need to keep searching, like Saijen said you may need to recharge. when its men to be it will happen.
My guide is in my heart the energy is pouring out. as I am typing I feel amazing!!
I know I am typing the write words because it just feels right.
Stick to your beliefs and just think about your path and how you want to go down it.
I think you should shield yourself in a bubble weeee!! Bouncing around nothing touching you sweet!!

Re: Has anyone ever wished for 'proof'

Thank you all so much.....the love here makes my heart swell and so do the tears, even as I type. But they are good tears today. The music I have on strangely enough is "Twilight between two worlds" of the Navajo Nation...Native American. Yeah, my guide is here......last night Mother sang me to sleep (after I knew Saijen was okay from her shots)....but she sang me to sleep with such a beautiful song of distant thunder and gently falling rain. I awoke fresh...best sleep I've had since being here. Which is weird, because I "feel" like I went walking last night....but normally I feel drained.. emoticon
Anywho......

SAIJEN....I have renewed that silver ring during the last full moon here....and most definitely will pick up a votive for the "bathroom".... emoticon
I'm using you folks here as my "SHIELD" against the hate and bad Karma.....so if I etch friends into that candle will that work, along with peace and patience?

Needless to say......once again it's time to run! But, will be back.

Ladies, Muldazh...love you all and to be honest.......YOU are all the proof I really think I actually need, don't I? emoticon

Lavender.....you are so very right. Sometimes we can't see the forest for the trees...but if we look at small individual things. Then its pretty obvious. You all here have a tendency to point out the obvious when I try to over-analyze...I think that is my problem! emoticon
But your all the very best of the best! emoticon
