Oh, shame about the herbs. Can you get any potted ones? I have chives, rosemary and basil and the balcony, and bought those in the pot.

Firle, I could, but have nowhere to put them that would be good for them.

You can bet that next year I'll have an herb garden and it will NOT be in the regular garden!!! I'll use store bought herbs and seasonings for now, but next year, I'll use fresh or homegrown and dried.

Well, I canned another 21 quarts of green beans today, but one jar in the last batch broke, so ended up with 20 quarts, bringing this year's total to 60 quarts of green beans, and 1 pint bag in the freezer! In all the years I've been canning, that's only the second time I've had a jar break, so I'm doing pretty good!

I guess next will either be beets or corn....or possibly some tomatoes. Not sure yet! I'm already sick of the garden!!!!! I don't think I'd feel this way if it were cooler. I'll suck it up because I will not allow all that produce to go to waste or rot!!!!

We're done with the green beans. DH pulled up the bean bushes yesterday, and we picked the beans off, then got them all broke (snapped)...that alone took almost 5 hours. I went solid, from about 11:15 yesterday morning till about 5:45 yesterday evening. Then started in this morning at around 9:45, getting beans washed and ready to put into the jars, and finally finished with that, and 3 runs in the canner around 6:30, so I've been at it all day today. I'm hoping I get a break tomorrow, but don't think I'm going to! emoticon

This heat is really working on me!!!!!

Today, I put 122 ears of Peaches and Cream corn in Ziplock freezer bags. And that's not anywhere near all of the corn!!!!!!! emoticon
While working with the corn, I also managed to get 3 loads of laundry washed and hung the first load out on the line. That made my back hurt like crazy, so just threw the other loads in the dryer. I've still got to fold all of that up and put it away at some point!

Thing is, I have to work with tomatoes tomorrow (today). Starting out making tomato juice, then going to turn some of that into spaghetti sauce, I hope! DH washed up 21 pint jars for me today, so, sometime in the morning, I have to go to the store to get the spices and all I need, get home and get to blending and cookin!! Oh fun!

After I get the tomatoes caught up, we've got to get the corn finished!! And all of this we're doing while some renovations to the house are going to be being made. Dh and his brother are redoing our back door and the entry from the utility room into the kitchen! yeah....while I'm trying to can!!!!
To top all of that off, my SIL will be here with her hubby (DH's brother) most of the week......which means I'll probably have to take her with me to 2 dr appts...one on Tues and one on Wed...and Wed. I'll explain in the Open Circle.

Needless to say, it's going to be a rough week....so, if you don't see me at all this week, you'll know why! I'm OK, just up to my eyeballs and then some!!!!

Well, DH put up another 45 ears of Peaches N Cream corn today, and we made 14 pints of homemade spaghetti sauce. Turned out pretty darn good for people who didn't have a clue what we were doin! emoticon I may have to add a little cornstarch to thicken it up some when I use a jar, but otherwise, we did pretty good!!!

Here's a few photos for ya. First one is of some of the corn we put up yesterday, then the other 2 are of the spaghetti sauce.

Well, right now, dinner is consisting of sandwiches, since the kitchen is so torn up, and there's saw dust and drywall dust EVERWHERE!!!! I'll grab some pizzas for tomorrow, but I can't even get around in there enough to get stuff prepped for the grill! emoticon emoticon

It will sure be nice when it's all done, but in the meantime....man it's a mess! LOL

I hope the spaghetti sauce is as good after it sits for a while as it was when we canned it. We kept taking tastes to see what we needed to add, and the final product was pretty tasty. Hoping it's even better after sitting and all the flavors have time to really blend well. And, of course if we need to, we can always add stuff when I fix it. I'm going to make some spaghetti after the renovations are done, just so we can try our sauce LOL. I'll let ya know how it is! emoticon emoticon

Wow, you're impressive! The corn looks great, and the sauce tempts me to have more pasta.

And it's a shame you have to do this while remodelling is going on. I'm sure you'll love the wider access, though. Hope things will ease up for you soon.
