Yeah..that senario with your doc and the regular hospital bed would not work with me. Between the surgery on my neck and losing a rib, I can't allow my neck/head to be in that position that long. Hopefully by now she's gotten the right kinds of bed and such.

Man..talking about a chiro! I had one in AL...LONG time ago, he had this table that you laid on, belly down, your face in the face hole, arms on the handles under you, and he'd strap your ankles onto the other end of the table, then crank it out....pulling your spine...then, he'd manually rotate and manipulate the lower end of the bed to exercise your spine as it was being in traction. I LOVED that thing! I always thought of the torture racks in old movies, but oh my gosh, it felt good!

WOW! With my bone spurs that might not be a good thing...can't even do regular chrio any more as the more they move my spine the more those spurs hit the nerves...

But I had one physical therapist who used this one bed that you laid on your back on. It would get hot from infra red and then begin to stretch...lengthen...that felt so good I'd usually fall asleep!

And yeah....my back lady better have a different bed, man that was hard on the neck! emoticon

I think I've only had one really bad bone spur along my spine, and that was the one they removed in my neck. Not sure if there are any others in there. Not had an MRI in a while to see what's going on.

That table with the infra red sounds absolutely divine!!! I need one of those here at home!!! emoticon

I hope your back lady has the proper table when you see her again! Nothing like your neck being out of whack after an attempt to make your back feel better!!

Oh I told her...that a different table would help her patients!
And I hear ya on the "hot" table...I totally wanted one! emoticon
I have 6 spurs as of the last scan I had before Doc did the shots...they would have to open me up from right under by shoulder blades, down to my tail bone and then in future years....they'd be back. As long as the spurs are heading "out" away from my spine, I'm okay, other than pain. If they head towards my spinal cord...well, then they have to come out. emoticon

I'm not sure how many, if any, I have in my spine now. I do know I have a heel spur....who doesn't at this age? emoticon

Yeah, if those spurs grow in...gotta get them taken care of. Can't have them puncturing the spinal cord or cutting on or pressing on a nerve. Just bad business! I hope that does not happen with you!!!

Gotta keep you in one piece!!!! And, if they do have to take any out..just have them put a zipper back there. Sure would make it easier to go back in, if they have to! They shoulda put one in my back!!! emoticon

ZIPPER!!!! BRILLIANT! emoticon emoticon
Funny thing about those back spurs....is they do grow, but it's like a stalagmite..they grow out...mine are mostly all hitting the nerves, then they sort of start to deteriorate. Crumble if you will. You end up with bits and pieces of bone spurs floating around...usually not a problem, they end up dissolving too, but can cause problems while floating around.
Also, when they first hit a nerve it almost drops ya....for about a year you can barely walk, stand...anything. Then the pain slowly eases. It never goes away, it goes from knife shoved in your back to dull tooth ache in about 2 to 3 years. Then guess what? You get another one and so it goes! emoticon I've actually gotten used to the routine. It's only lately that something else has been happening.....the sciatica and back are 'aching'....not like the knife or toothache, more like a wood shaver running up and down my leg and my back. That is why I was having a different kind of treatments.... emoticon

Muladzh, I hope you're able to. I fuss about the amount, but I do enjoy canning when it doesn't overwhelm me so much.

Queeny.....OUCH!!!!!! That sounds a lot like what I was dealing with before the titanium fusion, only there were no spurs, just nerves being crushed by no discs....the bone graft fusion had failed and wasn't holding the vertebrae up. That's when I basically lost the use of my left leg. I was still able to walk, with help, but it was very difficult, so I can SOO sympathize with you and the results of the spurs! I guess we're just fallin apart. emoticon

My Dad had the surgery....and his back pain ended up being much, much worse.
As for us just "falling apart"...perhaps it's also "making us who we are"...we are empaths, this pain we suffer gives us greater insight into others. Perhaps our pain, is 'needed'...not LIKED that is for sure. But 'needed.........had I not hurt myself so many years ago. I'd not have the husband I have, the son I have, nor the outlook on life I have now. Karma..... emoticon

Queeny, I have often said that I think perhaps I was given some of this to carry because I am strong enough to carry it....and that I am to do this to help someone who's not as strong in the future, to deal with issues like or very similar to these. I agree...I don't like it, but there are times I've been able to help someone else deal...so, yes, perhaps needed.
