posticon I'm Thankful For.........

During a 'conversation' in another forum, it was brought up that I may need to sit quietly and listen to what I truly need in my life so that I don't feel like I'm in a rut. I realized that I've seriously failed to mention the things in my life that I'm thankful for, the things that drive me and where my wealth truly lies.

Having said that, I am making this post, and I will put a sticky on it so it's at the [sign in to see URL] we can all post the things we're thankful for on a daily basis, or as often as we're here or have something we wish to post. I won't post my first comment [sign in to see URL]'ll post this, then do a reply.

Edited to add: No negative words, emotions, feelings allowed in this thread emoticon

Re: I'm Thankful For.........

I've had to realize in the last year and a half, not just how lucky I am, but how [sign in to see URL] I'm not talking money.

There has been a great deal of death in and around my family, as well as some hard illneses, but through it all, my family has become so much closer. My sister has become my very best friend, my Mom has mellowed considerably (not enough for me to tell her about my Paganism), and I've learned that I'm a much stronger woman (emotionally, mentally)than I realized I am. I've also realized that while I am not happy with my body, I am in love with who I am on the [sign in to see URL] is more important. I've also realized that not being happy with my body does not mean that I think I'm ugly. I am not drop dead gorgeous, but I know I'm pretty, in my own [sign in to see URL] no, that's not being vain, it's being accepting of [sign in to see URL] and all ([sign in to see URL]'s a pun emoticon )

Financially, we are not anywhere near being well-off, but it truly does not matter. If I were able to work, it would only be for the social aspect of it more-so than the monetary. I won't lie and say a little extra income wouldn't be [sign in to see URL] course it would, but we don't lack for very much. We have all we need, and most of what we [sign in to see URL] now. The only thing we're paying on, outside of regular monthly bills, is our Silverado. We are not in debt up to our eyebrows, so I'm exceptionally thankful for that. While we don't own our own home, we could not ask for a better place to live. We love our home and where it's at. I am blessed with views of gorgeous mountains every day, an abundance of wildlife that meanders through the 100 acres we live [sign in to see URL] we get to see almost on a daily basis.

I could go on and on, because there is a lot of wealth in my life, but I'll save some for later posts.

Today, I am thankful that we had sunshine and was a gorgeous day to be out and about. I'm thankful that my DH and I were able to spend the day together and I'm thankful that I finally have a new cell phone! emoticon

That's a wonderful idea, Saijen! Thank you for putting up this thread!

 emoticon

I'm so thankful for the wonderful apartment I'm living in, and for my beautiful practice room. I'm thankful that money keeps coming in, especially since this summer, after I moved my room.

I'm so thankful that I deal mostly with friendly people around me. I'd say that 90% of those I interact with are friendly and positive and helpful. That makes my life wonderfully easy.

I'm so thankful to the horses and horse people who have come into my life this year. The horses heal my soul.

I'm incredibly thankful I discovered EFT and for everything that followed from that discovery. I'm thankful for every round of tapping I do on myself or with someone else.

I'm thankful for the fact that my ex-husband and I can still be friends and can still connect to each other's families.

I'm thankful for a two week vacation coming up (over Christmas and into the new year) that I'll spend with family and friends.

Wow. So many good things in my life! emoticon

Awesome stuff, there, Firle!!
I was made to realize just how much fussing I do here, and how little I post on the awesome things in my life. I felt we all could probably benefit from a place to post the things we're truly thankful for.

Today, I am thankful that I have family who keep in touch with me. I've talked with my Mother and my youngest daughter by phone today, and every day, 6 of my family members and I exchange an e-mail with the doings of the day.

I am thankful for the family that's been created here. For the love and acceptance that's given to each other.

I am thankful that I have my sight, I can hear, I can read, I can smell, I can feel. Things many of us (myself included) take for granted.

I am thankful that I have a family of inlaws who love me and accept me just as I [sign in to see URL] makes it easy to return that love and [sign in to see URL] in itself is a blessing.

I am thankful I have a warm place to live and sleep, and the most amazing man to share it with.
I'm exceptionally thankful for my very best friend, who is also my husband.

Counting blessings is so much more fun than fussing! emoticon emoticon

Today, I'm thankful we got out and about for a bit. Just drove around the area. About 2 hours of driving. Spending time together and eating lunch out.

I'm thankful for my [sign in to see URL] of whom was in a pageant a week ago, and won Queen for her age division (10-11 yr olds).

I'm thankful that I will be gaining another grandchild this coming Summer emoticon and may possibly get to go see TexasMadness while I'm in Texas for the birth of my grandchild.

I'm thankful that, while I'm not wealthy financially, I don't lack.

Celebrate your life! emoticon

Re: I'm Thankful For.........

I thought I would rather declare my love of things. It's similar to being thankful and grateful, but I feel it might be deeper.

I love the weather, from sunny to wild to rain to windy. I love all aspects of it.

I love being on my own and being able to do and eat what I want when I want it.

I love being connected to nature, connected to my plants and looking at a park outside my window.

I love living in an old house with mostly natural material. (None of that concrete and metal rebar!)

I love eating organic as much as I can, and being able to buy it even in my store around the corner.

I love living in my country.

Re: I'm Thankful For.........

First and this is going to sound weird. But I'm thankful/grateful for the tears that are rolling down my cheeks as I post this. For it means I have emotion, emotion for others. At first I thought it a curse, but now would not change a single tear.
I'm happy that I have the son I have. One who always asked 'why'...who followed his Path and opened my eyes to ask why and follow my own.
I'm grateful for an understanding husband. Who may not "get" my Path, nor does he stop me. He even indulges me with sculpture's, jewelry, [sign in to see URL] help me 'feel' my religion.
I'm grateful for a future daughter in law who has her feet solidly on the ground, no matter the life she had before. And for the fact that she dearly loves my son, flaws and all. And she love his [sign in to see URL] and all.
I'm happy that when I walk some place, people smile when they see me coming. For that means they enjoy my company, and my heart feels good at being able to make them smile. ([sign in to see URL] weekend inside the conference center the lights went out. And I was chatting and laughing with someone in a sellers booth. When the light came back [sign in to see URL] lady 4 booths down was standing out in the aisle, came up to me an gave me a [sign in to see URL]'s the silver lady from the Farmers market and she said..."I could hear you coming from waaaaaaaaaay down there!" But she was smiling from ear to ear and wanted a hug!) Those kinds of experiences I'm forever grateful for.
I'm happy with my gypsy life. I do on occasion miss having a gathering place for family. But I love the freedom...
I love having a hippie/Indian maiden as my spirit guide. She gives me an incredible outlook on things. I can take both sides of any argument and find peace in both, which at times upsets my opponents! emoticon
I truly am grateful that my Path led me [sign in to see URL] find a family I never knew existed... emoticon

Oh and at this very moment I'm actually happy that it looks like this outside!
[sign in to see URL] that is snow! emoticon

Re: I'm Thankful For.........

Queeny, I owe this thread to you! I did not want to say anything until I knew you had seen it, and had posted.
Something you said in another thread got me to [sign in to see URL] it wasn't even said in a way that was offensive or [sign in to see URL] just got me to thinking.

So, having said [sign in to see URL] am so grateful for the outlook and insight of the people here. For the fact that sometimes I need a swift kick in the rear, and y'all aren't afraid to give it to me, and it's always done with such [sign in to see URL] if there may be a bit of frustration attached at my lack of being able to 'see' sometimes. I tend to put blinders on, and y'all tend to pull them off and give me a good shake and say 'IT'S RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF [sign in to see URL] CAN'T YOU SEE IT?"....So, thank you!

And Firle, I think doing the "I love" thing is also a good idea! So, thank you for adding that aspect.

I love a good thunderstorm, where the lightning gives an awesome show.

I love watching my plants grow and thrive under my care.

I love being silly with my animals, and watching them be silly right back.

I love the fact that I am able to put both feet on the floor in the [sign in to see URL] on days I don't feel like it.

I love reading a really good book, all curled up in my chair, soft music playing in the background and a cup of hot tea to sip on.

I love looking out my windows (on cold days) or being outside and being able to see (on warm days) the mountains that surround me.

emoticon I'm grateful that you all took me in as a newbie, lost, nothing. And yet, when Alara gives advice through me, you all take it with the love that I mean for it to come out with. I think you are all incredible [sign in to see URL] even the special you all know you are. And when you listen, it honors me and humbles me at the same time. emoticon

I'm also glad that Firle started the "I love" part...
SO much in this world I love...

Like [sign in to see URL] love a good old fashioned thunder storm! The energy is invigorating!

Actually I love NATURE and her lessons!

I love Mountains, their strength, their [sign in to see URL] there keeping watch over us, yet changing always.

I love [sign in to see URL] can be so meandering and calm. Wandering in and around obstacles, reminds me that I can too go around or bend in the face of an obstacle. And [sign in to see URL] need be, water can also completely change the face of the Earth. It can level [sign in to see URL] me that with perseverance we can move or do anything!

I love the [sign in to see URL] ebbing/flowing. Nourishing life!

I love animals, of all kinds. Some who form packs/families and have laws/rules that govern them. Some who live solitary lives and yet manage to survive....

I love the nuances of the energies that surrounds [sign in to see URL] at once overwhelmed and at the same time empowered and stronger.

I love [sign in to see URL] have so very, very muc to learn♥

emoticon [sign in to see URL] song just popped into my head! The animated Truck is just [sign in to see URL] the words, really say it all.♥♥♥

Queeny, we love having you here, and we're proud you're a part of our family!!
One of the things I love about our group is the fact that we can accept things the others say, and we all know and understand that things are said with love, and with the intent to help, not hinder.

Today, I am thankful for the fact that physical therapy has helped enough that I've been discharged on the aqua therapy, but still need more time for my ankle.

I love the fact that I have a spouse who loves me enough to worry when I don't/can't answer the phone when he calls, so he makes calls to others to be sure I'm OK if he can't get me.

I love waterfalls. The power of the water, the majesty, no matter the size. Just knowing that it's changing things in it's path, little by little every day.

I love knowing that, despite opposition from my body, that I am able to keep on keeping on. Each day I am able to sit up on my own, put both feet on the floor and stand is a pure joy.

I love knowing that the path I am on is a truer path than the previous one.
