Winter Solstice 2011

It's almost upon us!

So, what are you planning for Wednesday?

I'm pondering cooking a really good meal, and then just relaxing at candle light and thinking about in what areas I want to grow when the days are getting longer again.

I'll have to do some much needed cleaning to get the room right!

We don't have anything special planned, but I may fix a venison/vegetable soup for that evening's [sign in to see URL] will be full of fresh things off the land, with a couple of exceptions.

This is the time of year for new beginnings, and I have a few things I'm working on for here (and I mean the board, not home). They won't begin until after Christmas, but they are currently in the planning stages.

I also need to work on some things to change here in my home. I've been working closely within [sign in to see URL] myself, so need to incorporate some home things now.

Firle, your plans sound very soothing, and a wonderful way to boost yourself and your energy. Enjoy!!! emoticon

Playful, it's good to see you! emoticon

I didn't have much time to just relax and ponder. I was afraid of this. There is just so much to do and take care of before I leave for my vacation.

I did take the time to cook a good dinner, and sat down and lit a candle while eating it. I put myself into a happy frame of mind, grateful for what happened this year, and looking forward to what will happen next.

Alas, it didn't last long. emoticon

My plan worked out [sign in to see URL] thing is, SIL has her whole house set up with boughs, and NOT Santa [sign in to see URL] Saint Nick, Kriss Kringle, she has berries and candles of all shapes and [sign in to see URL] many, many OLD Victorian and older "artifacts" (they traveled all over the world, he was in the Air force)...so it was fun explaining to her some of the things she had collected and their true [sign in to see URL] she loved it! emoticon

Ooo, I need to get pictures of our Solstice party! We had probably 50 people out at the farm. Just cooked up some tasty soup (black bean and pumpkin) and served cheeses from the goats. Then we just played all day until the bonfire. The wood was wet but with enough coaxing we finally got it burning great! My sister-in-law and her friend sang and everyone had a merry old time!

Texas, sounds like the perfect Solstice celebration!!

Would LOVE to see photos! I'm still looking for a drum circle, so maybe I'll have more celebrations if I can find one.
