Thanks, TM! This will make it easier for people to catch up without reading back for ages!

  emoticon

This is my last night at my sister's place, I'm moving over to a friend's place tomorrow, and will be back home on Sunday evening. I'm sad my vacation is ending, but happy to be coming back home. Hopefully, my bathroom will be finished by then, and all will be well.

HI DI HO GANG.... emoticon

Good job here TM! emoticon

Today I'm finishing up [sign in to see URL] and stuff that will be needed next week. And tomorrow and Saturday I'll do some extra cooking, so we don't have to try to go out to eat and get back to the hospital, we can come to the RV (which will be closer to the hospital) and have a shower and a meal.
I just feel very frazzled... emoticon

FIRLE..bummer that vacation is over! Sure seems to have gone by way to fast.. emoticon Keeping fingers crossed that your bathroom is finished....

Re: January Chat Thread!

Thank you SO much for all the work Texas. I LOVE the new colors and banner. We were in need of something [sign in to see URL] bit updated.

Firle, I'm sorry that your vacation is about to wrap up. I know you've really enjoyed this time with your sister, and getting to see your brother, too.
I sure hope your bathroom is all done and to your liking, when you get home!!!
How are you feeling? Finally better, I hope!!!

Queeny, we will be keeping your [sign in to see URL] Chris, in our thoughts and meditations [sign in to see URL] sending healing, energy and calming white light your direction. Update us as you're able to.

Well, here, day before yesterday, DH and I cut up veggies and meat for a homemade crock-pot soup. I ended up having to ban DH from the kitchen. He was using my new Pampered Chef slicer (without the hand protector) to slice celery, and ended up taking the very tip end of his middle finger off, and skinning the heck out of his thumb. So, I finished the prep and got it all in the crock-pot. Made quit a mess in the process, but by the time I got it into the pot, I was hurting, so the dishes had to wait till yesterday morning to get done. Got the dishes all washed, most dried and put away before my back gave out on me again. So, spent the better part of yesterday in my chair, doped up with my heat pad behind me. Today, felt some better. Got a shower and DH and I went to the bank, then went out for a late lunch/early supper to our favorite Chinese buffet. Afterwards, we went and looked at rocker/recliners. I've finally convinced my DH that this rocker/recliner that was my great granny's, then my mamaw's, then my aunt's, then Dad'[sign in to see URL] needs to go to the dumpster. We were going to reupholster it, but by the time we buy the material and stuff to repair the cushions, we could buy a brand new chair. We have a leather double reclining loveseat we want to sell, and our idea is to purchase 2 rocker/recliners and an end table with a built in lamp to put between them. I would also like to get some kind of 'occasional chair' to have as extra seating in here. Our livingroom is rather small, so we have to watch how much we put in here. I'm not sure if the extra chair will work or not. It's something we could do later, after getting the rocker/recliners and end table IF we have the room. Anyway, we found some rocker/recliners at Big Lots that we like, but we have to get rid of this leather loveseat before we can buy chairs for in here.
Tomorrow will be fairly quiet. I have to go have some labwork done in the morning (fasting), then the rest of the day is mine to do with as I please. I may start work on another scarf or toboggin. Not sure emoticon

Re: January Chat Thread!

Oh I hate furniture shopping! It seems like there are endless possibilities but nothing is "quite right".

At work as usual today. My brother in law is coming to dinner tonight and I'm going to try cooking something from my food aversions list (Firle, I've been working on EFT for eating winter squash - I can't imagine going the whole season without it!).

Friday is also our kitchen cleaning day so I hope to get a few cabinets organized. Nothing too exciting!

[sign in to see URL] I didn't get a raise this year (well, no one did). We've gotten a 'cost of living' raise every year I've been here except last year and now this year. But it wasn't even brought up. So I'm going to the bosses office today to ask what the deal is. I didn't even think about it until my Jan 1 paycheck came in. It's usually only a few percent, but hey it still helps! Wish me luck!

Good Morhing Friends!
Not sure what I'm doing today. I feel like I have a million things to do, but my mind won't organize which to do first. And a lot of what needs done, has to be like the last [sign in to see URL] in Saturday or even after we move RV places on Sunday. Oye...

And I'm with [sign in to see URL] HATE FURNITURE SHOPPING! emoticon

Re: January Chat Thread!

Texas, hope you're able to find out why no cost of living raise, and maybe talk them into one!
DH hasn't had a raise in probably 6 years. My Medicare cost of living raise was a whoppin $8 and most of that is going to the upped price of my premium! emoticon

Queeny, I hope you can get your mind to settle enough to figure out what you need to do. I do hate those last minute things that you can't do till something else is done, or you're where you're going.

I don't mind furniture shopping when we know enough of what we're looking for. Our biggest issue will be getting the leather love seat sold. We could just donate it, but I'd like to try to sell it before we think of going that route. One of our biggest issues with rocker/[sign in to see URL] sit so low or so far back that you have to scoot to the front of the seat in order to get up. We both have bad knees, so just getting straight up doesn't work for us. The three we tried out yesterday all sat nice and high, but not so high my poor lil short legs didn't reach the floor! They were all easy to get out of.
This is the one I [sign in to see URL] love how the back cradles my head: [sign in to see URL]

DH likes this one [sign in to see URL]
and this one [sign in to see URL]

Got to looking at the one I posted above that I [sign in to see URL]'t think it's a rocker recliner. I could have sworn it was last night, but I never actually rocked, so, not sure. If it's [sign in to see URL] won't work! GOTTA have a rocker! LOL.

Re: January Chat Thread!

Asked about the cost of living raises - no go this year! The index for our area went DOWN so there is no justification for it! We did all get "real" raises 3 years ago so missing the last 2 cost of living hasn't been that bad. But if there was extra money and it just needed to be asked [sign in to see URL], I asked for it! emoticon

Re: January Chat Thread!

Hey, the worst they could have told you was no. I'm just sorry they told you the worst! emoticon

It's been pretty quiet here, today. I got all the houseplants watered, then got the dining table cleaned off. DH uses it for his desk, leaves it cluttered, then bitches at me because it's all cluttered. As I was going through all the papers and crap on the table, not one piece of paper, not one receipt, not one note was mine. I stacked it all up into a neat pile, told him to go through his stuff, toss what needed tossing, put into the shredder what needed to be burned and the rest, I put on the china cabinet. I washed the table off good, put some disinfectant on it (the cat had gotten up on the table while we were gone over New Year's weekend) let it dry, then washed it again. Then, I put the wooden lazy susan I got for my birthday in the middle. I know he needs a place to work sometimes, so I'm hoping with the lazy susan there, he'll keep it to a minimum when it comes to the mess.

It's not been too awfully cold the last 2 days, thankfully. I much prefer the warmer temps. We did get some snow a couple of days ago. It's about gone now. We're expecting another cold front, though. Not looking forward to what it may bring, other than just really cold temps.

I'm looking forward to Monday. My youngest daughter goes for her sonogram and hopefully they'll find out the sex of the baby. I can't wait to start buying things for this little one! I didn't get to spoil my other grandchildren when they were babies. I was kept at bay by their fathers. Thankfully, this son-in-law and I get along very well, and he wants me in this child's life as much as my daughter [sign in to see URL], I'm excited!

Re: January Chat Thread!

Today ended up being a fairly exciting day. We went grocery shopping instead of to the market since we didn't need ANY vegetables for the week (got everything from the farm!). While Willa was taking a nap, we made some good progress on our garden projects. Then we cooked an incredible dinner and topped it off with some excitement next door. I saw headlights shining through our fence which isn't usual - you would have to park on the neighbors lawn to do so. Sure enough, there was a big truck there but I saw one of the neighbors walking out to talk so I didn't think much of [sign in to see URL] about 20 minutes later there were sirens!

Turns out it was a drunk driver - REALLY drunk - who lives just a few blocks away. Eh pulled into their driver for some reason and when he backed out, he went through the yard and got stuck on some huge rocks. He wanted to leave the truck there until the morning and got belligerent with the neighbors so they called the cops. At this point, all we had seen was the headlights and then the sirens. We called over there and got the whole scoop. Crazy! It was only at about 7 PM so their kids could have been playing outside if it had been summer. Not sure what happened to the guy yet - they towed his truck and last I saw the cops were still talking to him, then everyone was gone. I'm guessing they arrested him. Whew.
