Re: January Chat Thread!

HI DI HO GANG.....well, I'm finally sitting in my own RV WITH my son, sitting here watching tv. He's fairly good. Still have some wounds to take care of and get his energy back....
But, he's home.....and that is good.
I need to work on me too now! emoticon
Sorry I've not read back....I hope those who are in pain can find relief and those who need a smile get one! emoticon

Re: January Chat Thread!

Glad to see you back Queeny!

Willa and I are spending the weekend at the farm. The Monarch is in Vegas so we had a chance to sneak out here with no home projects being neglected since I couldn't work on them anyway! We plan to go to the farmer's market in the morning and then just chill out (literally...going to be a cold one). I'll take some pictures and post some stories!

Re: January Chat Thread!

Texas...isn't that the way it goes? Things need to be done..people gripe that they're not getting done, but not one of them wants to work or help to get them done!! AUGH! When I lived in a neighborhood with an association, it was horrible. People would want to do things, but no one was ever on the same page...so, everyone ended up doing their own thing rather than rallying together to make it easier. Really stupid stuff, I tell ya!

Queeny, I'm SO happy that Chris is 'home'. It will take a bit for him to recover, but recover he will! You all have been on my mind a great deal, so I'm really happy to hear things are going well.

I had an appt. with our FNP on Thursday, and I was so pleasantly surprised. I had gotten my lab results back the day before...and I was afraid to open the envelope, but once I did, I couldn't have been much happier. My cholesterol was down (triglycerides were way up, tho), my diabetes A1C was down, all functions were normal (thyroid, kidney, liver...etc)...ALL of my blood work was good for a change with that one exception. I was still afraid I'd gained more weight than I would have liked....but, I've LOST 2.08 pounds!!!!! And, all of this during the holidays...which is the worst time to gain weight, for cholesterol to go up, for A1C to go up....so, I was really stoked when I got out. She was so pleased with my lab work that she didn't order any for my next appointment in April. I see her every 3 months because of my diabetes.

While all of that was awesome, I did mention to her some problems. One being a facial tic..my left eye and the muscle in my left cheek. Apparently she thinks it's just stress. Ok. Then, either my heart is having palpitations again, or my esophagus is having spasms again...not sure which. I'm having a problem with heartburn, even tho I take 2 Prilosec a day. She said severe heartburn can cause heart palpitation...so, she had me add OTC Zantac to see if it will help. I don't do much caffiene, so it's not that. I do have a hietal hernia..so, who knows. Then, I did mention my back pain, so she prescribed some muscle relaxers. She doesn't write paper prescriptions anymore...they send them via computer to your pharmacy...and when I got there, they'd not yet gotten it, so I have to go get those on Monday. I think just kind of chilling with the heat pad has helped more than anything else I've done.

Mostly chilled yesterday and today...me and the heating pad...LOL.
All in all, things are going fairly good...just COLD!

And, Texas...will do on the book

Re: January Chat Thread!

Saijen: Great news on the blood work! You just let your body heal now, it can do it. emoticon

Queeny: So glad you're "home" and your son is with you. I sure hope that everything keeps going well and that his incisions heal nicely. May that dratted pain finally disappear!

As for me: I went to Hamburg yesterday to participate in the opening party of a new healer school. I'm supposed to teach EFT there, if classes get filled.

I went there with a friend, but he started so late and dropped me off so far from the school that I got there 45 min late (had to ride a tram for an hour ...). *sigh* At least they were just happy I did get there, and I was in time for the official greeting. I met great people, some old acquaintances from my healer school, some new and interesting people. One even works with horses!

I did an EFT presentation later that afternoon, which went very well. Then I listened to a presentation on psychological astrology - that one was stunning! I want to learn more about that, and I might actually go to her for some help with decisions.

Getting home was an adventure. emoticon I had a list of possible rides, gleaned from a website specilizing in connecting people for rides. I ended up getting a seat in a group rail ticket, even though I would have preferred a car ride (that lady didn't answer my txt). At least I met more nice people on the train ride, and they have become fans of my practice.

I had to walk home from the train station. That is not a long walk, a mere 20 minutes. But when I got home, the muscle I strained last week was complaining, and I was in pain whenever I walked around last night. Fortunately, once I got home, I didn't need to walk much. It is much better this morning, so I hope I can go riding on Tuesday.

Today is a beautiful day, and I'll go out on the balcony, wrap up well and enjoy the sun now!

 emoticon emoticon emoticon

Re: January Chat Thread!

I talked to a good friend today, and he gave me good advice which I'll follow: I'm going to call in sick and give that cold a chance to heal. I'm even going to visit a new GP my neighbor told me about first thing tomorrow morning. He's a bit further away but much better than the one I've been going to. Hope he'll give me sick leave for a couple of days, hopefully the rest of the week.

I probably could work. I've been functioning like this for weeks, but I haven't been healing. And that has to change. But I have to sacrifice my riding lesson, as well. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

This cough is awful. emoticon

Re: January Chat Thread!

Firle, I'm sure working on letting my body heal!! Just wish it would hurry up! LOL
I have to attribute the cholesterol stuff to some fish oil I'm taking. It's in liquid form and it tastes like and orange dreamsicle...really good and man, has it helped!! This is what I take for my cholesterol... Barlean's Barlean's Omega Swirl Total Omega 369 Orange Cream
And it truly does work! My last labs, my cholesterol was up....I only started taking this a month ago....and it reallllllly dropped my bad cholesterol down by a bunch! It's kind of expensive....I pay $30 a bottle for it (1 bottle lasts a month)...BUT when I was doing the prescription stuff, it was costing me anywhere from $35-$70 a month plus it was causing some extreme leg problems, as well as aggrivating leg problems already there. So, I prefer this method. I take one tablespoon of this stuff once a day..usually in the mornings. SO worth it!!!

Was there some reason your 'friend' was so late getting started, then dropping you off so far away from where you were going? And, did you know you'd have to find your own way home? Girl...you need a vehicle!!! As much as you go and do...you need a way to go and do!!
I'm glad you did at least not miss the entire thing...met some neat people and enjoyed the party. I know you were pooped when you got home, and at least the walk from the train station wasn't too bad. I hope it wasn't too cold or wet.
I hope you enjoyed the rest of the day, chilling on the balcony :-)

Here: the usual...not much! DH went and got us something for supper last night. I wanted a taco salad..so he went to Taco Bell for me....then stopped at Pal's to get himself a burger and ice tea. About all we did yesterday was chill...he only got dressed to go get us something to eat..LOL I was in my PJs all day. We pretty much just snuggled in. That's about all we're doing today, too. DH fried some pig liver and onions for himself for breakfast, had biscuits and gravy as well....so I ate 2 biscuits with gravy.
It's sunny today and about 44 degrees outside. Not too bad, but still a bit on the cool side.

fixed the big link to not stretch the page!

Re: January Chat Thread!

So, I went to the doctor this morning. I chose a different one, in the hopes of better action. And I got it!

Doctor listend to my lungs and didn't like the sounds in there, so he sent me off to get an x-ray. He also prescibed a 10-day course of antibiotics. It seems I'm close to pneumonia. I'm on sick leave for the week, and back for lab work tomorrow morning. Then we'll know more.

I'm glad I listened to my friend. emoticon

HI DI HO MY FRIENDS!!! emoticon
We are back in Las Cruces, and Chris and his girlfriend are back at their apartment. I'm trying ..............trying.........to catch up on laundry and cleaning. I kind of let both go for a week, while hanging out in ICU and 4 people and 3 cats can make a big mess out of our 40 feet! emoticon

FIRLE...I'm so very glad you listened to your friend! I thought this was taking way to long...even for you! emoticon

Saijen...Those lab results are fantastic!! emoticon
I'm so happy for you.....

Re: January Chat Thread!

Firle, I'm so glad you went to get checked. Thank you for listening to your friend! Pneumonia, regardless of how much or how little, is nothing to mess around with. Hopefully you can feel a difference for the better very quickly!!!

Queeny, it's never easy to get caught up after company..no matter how big or little the space...but 4 adults in an RV....yeah, it happens very quickly! Take your time...do a little at a time, then take a 15 minute break...then do a little more...and another 15 minute break. If I were closer, I'd come help ya!
I'm really happy to hear that Chris is doing so well. May he continue to do heal quickly.

Here: Woke up this morning with a headache, so went back to sleep. Woke up an hour and a half later....still had the headache...so, rolled over and went back to sleep. Finally woke at noon...no headache, but was nauseated like crazy. Got up, sipped on something cold, then finally my stomach eased up. Heated some left-over veggie soup for lunch and ate a banana for dessert.

DH and I have been looking at some changes in our medical insurance and life insurance. The medical is staying the same, but we're adding vision for us both. And, I'm going to drop my current life insurance for more thru DH's company, but will have to pay less..and he's changing his. Even adding the vision, by changing our life insurance, we'll end up paying a bit less per month and get more. Had to find an eye doc that takes the vision insurance tho. I think that the one my SIL goes to will take it...his office was on the list, but we'll have to verify before we see him for the first time. Don't think there'll be a problem, though.

I think it's neat that so many things in the insurance world have to be done at this time of year. With Imbolc on us...it's a time of change/growth...but I seriously doubt that the insurance industry realizes that there is significance in the time of year they chose for changes LOL.
