Queeny: Take it easy. After taking care of your son for a week, it's time to watch out for yourself.

Saijen: Glad to hear you can actually get more for less. That's a good thing! The headache is a bad thing, bah. May it never come back! At least you have the sense to just let your body rest when it protests too much.

As for me, I only went in for the bloodwork today, and I'm supposed to call on Thursday. I've also been planning for a lovely afternoon nap, but it doesn't seem to be possible. Yesterday, I had to wait for the errand boy from the pharmacy to bring me the antibiotics, today my landlord will look in to talk about she shower, a friend is coming over tomorrow, and I might have to run to the doctor's office on Thursday afternoon. Maybe it'll work out on Friday but I teach a class in the evening, doin't want to cancel that, so it's a bit iffy. I'm taking catnaps in my armchair, at least.

All in all, I do feel better. I doubt that the antibiotic can work that quickly, I only took the first one yesterday afternoon. I also had a liter of thyme tea in the evening, maybe that helped to get rid of some of the icky stuff running down my throat. At any rate, I'm coughing less. Maybe it's just feeling that finally, finally, a doctor takes me seriously.

Oh, and the lab lady knew about EFT and took all business cards I had with me. So cool!

Re: January Chat Thread!

Firle, that healing school sounds great! I'm so excited for you to teach classes there! And good for you for getting the cough taken care of. Sometimes antibiotics really can work that fast. And I bet taking it a little easier is helping too.

Saijen, good for you on the insurance stuff. We (my job) switched companies in August and we are saving saving hundred a month. It's amazing!

Queeny, take time for yourself as well!

Let's see, haven't updated in a while. We spent the weekend at the farm and had a blast. There was a big going away party for several of the WWOOFers (volunteer workers) and they put on a concert! They practiced "Don't Stop Believin'" for a week and did a pretty descent job!

Monday was MLK day so Willa was off school. the Monarch has been in Vegas since last Wednesday so I had to take the day off to spend with Willa. It was great fun, we went to the park, got horribly messy with markers and played outside in the 70 degree weather! Winter, what's winter? emoticon

Hubby came home late last night and we picked him up from the airport. Willa was SO excited. She didn't really act like she missed him (didn't ask about him or anything) but she was bouncing in her seat screaming "Papa! Papa! Papa!" the whole way home. Super cute.

Just regular work this week. Gotta cram 5 days worth into 4 though since I missed Monday!

Re: January Chat Thread!

Firle, I'm really glad that you're already feeling better..and I agree with Texas. Some antibiotics can work pretty darn quick..so, maybe a combination of that, the tea and you resting when you're able.

Texas, your day with Willa sounds absolutely divine. When my girls would be out of school, I'd let them make a tent over the diningroom table, and sometimes they would spend the whole day playing in it. They would take coloring books/crayons, their pillows....just odd and end stuff...baby dolls...they loved it..and so did I. Sometimes..in the summer...we'd go to an appliance store and see if we could get a refrigerator box, or a washer/dryer box...we'd take it home, grab markers, crayons...whatever....open the box up and the girls would decorate the inside of it. It would be a playhouse for a while..then, when it was about 'all used up'...they would get it in and make it 'roll' across the yard....with them in it. It was like watching a pair of hamsters on their exercise wheel! emoticon

Today, I am feeling much, MUCH better than I did yesterday. I think maybe my body was reacting to the weather front that was headed our way. It's raining so friggin hard right now! Good thing DH and I did what we did earlier....

We had been talking about selling our leather love seat, getting rid of an old blue rocker recliner we bought years ago, getting rid of the little rocker recliner that we got from my Dad's (it reallllly needs to just be put in the trash) and buying us some new rocker recliners. Well...selling the love seat was going to take some major doing...so, we thought why not move it to the den?
We had been looking at rocker recliners at stores and online for about 2 months now...and we kept going back to one at Big Lots. We didn't know if they'd have a pair or not.
This morning, DH decided to drop by there to see if they had anything different....no new stuff, but the chair we liked was still there.....as well as one that someone had bought and brought back (the man was too big for the chair, apparently...and the chair has a slight issue with the cushion...but doesn't affect the comfort or workings of the chair)....So, DH called me to see if I was up..I was. Told me what was up, so I jumped in the shower, he came home and we went back in our truck (he was in his work truck the first time..no way to haul chairs if we bought them). We checked the returned one out really well..saw no other problems with it..just that one in the seat...which really isn't a problem. We tried the only other cloth chair they had on the floor, and it just didn't feel like a good 'cuddle-up-in-bad-weather-and-snooze-or-read' chair. So, we got the returned one for $100 off the price, and the other one at regular price....2 chairs!!!

This is my chair..DH's is identical
Image

I've got some yarn here that we both like, so I'm going to crochet some chair arm covers and a thing to put across the back to help keep it clean from hair oils and such. I may do them like doilies, but not sure. I'll post pics in the Photo Album when I get them done. Doubt they'll be anything fancy, though.

I was using the little rocker recliner from Dad's (the one that needs to be put in the trash), and since I rarely actually recline, I had a foot stool in front of it that I would put my computer on when I wasn't using it. We're getting rid of that. I tend to pile things up if there is a flat surface...LOL. So, we're eliminating at least one of the flat surfaces in the living-room. I have a small table that Dad made...the top is marble, and my computer will sit very comfortably on it when it's not being used. Really opened up the room, so it doesn't look so crowded.
Anyway...as I was saying about the rain...We had both chairs in the back of the truck. We got back to the house and had to move the love seat (which is rather large and bulky) into the den....not an easy feat! Took everything out of the living room that we could, swept it good and mopped....swept and mopped where we were putting the love seat...and DH is hollering..HURRY UP...IT'S STARTIN TO RAIN!!! So...I drop what I'm doing, we get the chairs off the truck and at least on the porch where they're under a roof....go back to finish mopping. The sun comes out!!!! Got both chairs in the house and most everything else either put back where it goes, or for the stack of papers I had....gone through and either filed or trashed.

DH noticed the landlord carrying the jack for the tractors..so went to help him change a flat tire on one of the big tractors....I sat down to let my back ease off (moving a huge love seat, 2 new chairs, 2 old chairs and a variety of tables tends to cause a LOT of back pain!!) and uploaded photos then came in here......and the bottom fell out....it was raining so hard I couldn't see down to the road. It's slowed down..so now we're gonna go get some supper. LOL.. I'll finish up in here when I get back!

Re: January Chat Thread!

Good Tuesday gang! Happy Jan.17th..

AS FOR ME TODAY..
Still doing laundry! I know.....laugh your arses off! *winks*
Course, I am washing up all the sheets and blankets and stuff that the kids needed. And I'm using my bitty washer, but that way I can stay in the RV and play online. SEE! There is a method to my madness....
Tonight, need to go out and get some groceries. And I'm sort of watching my middle cat Ginger, she jumped off the dresser and landed wrong yesterday and hurt her leg. Don't think it's broke as she does put a wee bit of weight on it and I can run my hand gently over the whole shoulder down to toes and she won't even growl at me. She is eating well, good appetite and even used the litter box today on her own (last night I had to sit her in it and cover up her "doings" after I helped her out.) But I do believe she may have sprained it badly. If not showing signs of being able to use it more by tomorrow....off to the vet we'll have to go. Right now she is basking in the sun on the dashboard.
I'll be around somewhat today. I really need to get around to the over 300 emails I have sitting in my inbox from last week! OYE!!!!!!! emoticon

TM....that is so adorable about Willa and Papa! emoticon Made me smile...

FIRLE....Antibiotics can work very quickly when you are concentrating on your body's health as well. Totally cool that the lab lady knew about EFT and took a card! emoticon
I'm glad you get to teach....lucky for your students!

Saijen...I hope your headache is better. And good thing on getting your insurances straightened out...I hate that kind of legal paperwork!

Good Wednesday Morning my friends! Happy Jan. 18th

AS FOR ME TODAY Hey! Guess what? YEP....still doing laundry!
But other than that.....I've not called the vet for Ginger yet. She did use her leg a bit last night, jumping up on Daddy's bed, and again this morning she ate really well and used her litter box. I'm pretty sure it's just badly sprained. I don't want to have to take her in if possible.....x-rays (and the anesthesia they use, because they can't get a good xray with cat moving), checkup and all her shots (which she needs by next month anyways), plus pain meds would cost close to $600 or more depending on whether or not a cast is needed....which at this moment we really can't afford. Hubby said if she's not using it by Friday.....we'll just have to put it on the charge card...so keep your fingers crossed that she does improve.
Worrying about Ginger, does keep me from worrying about Chris so much! Teehee!
I will be around some today.

Saijen somehow last night I missed seeing your chairs here! Those look so freaking comfortable! Love the 'discount' too... emoticon

Re: January Chat Thread!

Queeny..hope you managed to finally get the laundry done. I hate when there's so much extra laundry...but, it was for a good reason!

I also hope your Ginger is healing OK and that she just sprained her hip/shoulder...leg...rather than a more serious injury. These fur-kids of ours can sure end up costing a bundle at times!

I've not done a great deal since getting the chairs home yesterday. All the picking up, moving, sweeping, mopping, etc really inflamed my back and leg, so I chilled most of last night, and got lucky with my appointments today. I had one at 9:30 and was supposed to have another at 1..both in the same town. The one at 1 called....she was out sick...so, got to the morning one...(pain doc), got my prescriptions, stopped at the booze store and picked up a bottle of wine, got back into town, went to walmart to get a few items...picked up some muscle relaxers my FNP called in for me, then came home and I've done NOTHING the rest of the day but doze and chill. Had a bad night ...so was running on only about 3 hours of sleep all day.

and...I'm about ready to go to bed. I've not done my e-mails or gone to FB...they'll have to wait till tomorrow!

Queeny: How's Ginger this morning? Aren't pets the worst at timing? Kali has a knack for knowing when we are tapped out...

I'm still going to the chiropractor twice a week. The first one this week, I had 'no movement' when she tried to break, or adjust, my back. So she thinks it's stabilizing and I can cut down on the appointments. Whew. We'll see if things are still good tomorrow though.

Oh, and the baby has decided to start dancing! Little thing squirmed ALL NIGHT! I had the external baby fitfully wallowing next to me (teething so she's crawling in bed with us) and the internal baby joining right in. UGH, no sleep for this mama! emoticon

Queeny: I hope Ginger feels better. Such is life, as soon as you quit worrying about one you can start worrying about someone else. Isn't that nice of your kitty? (joke)

  emoticon

Saijen: Glad you took the time to rest up, after all that work with the chairs. Take it easy on your back!

TM: What fun to have two kicking babies ... not really. I wish you can get lots of good sleep in the future. And all the best for Willa's teeth - you could tap on and with her, and teach her the magic buttons that can make pain go away. emoticon

I'm still trying to take it easy, to help my body to heal that bronchitis. Waiting for the doc to call me back. They got the lab results this morning, so they can say more now. I think I'll go back on Monday, at any rate, to see what he says. I can get to work easily from there (bus stop is nearby), and it doesn't matter if I'm a bit late at work. I'll see what he suggests and tell my boss accordingly. The cough is better but by no means gone. Lots of discharge from the sinuses, so that's good.

Oh, I never thought of tapping with Willa! Interesting idea, I'll see if she will sit still long enough tonight. emoticon

EDIT: I found some "kids' shortcuts" for EFT online. Some of them I don't like but others makes sense. So I'm sure I can get her to work through one of those!

AS FOR ME TODAY..
Hubby had his dental cleaning this morning. So I took my shower, emptied, washed and refilled the cats litter box, and ran the vacuum...that's why I'm running a bit late.
Ginger is doing better. She still does not want to put a lot of weight on it, but she is using it and getting to her food, litter box and even favorite bed spots (including the dashboard and cat condo) on her own. So...I "Think" she will be fine.WHEW!! emoticon

TM... I do not envy you both young'uns...maybe because I was so much older when Chris chose me, I only had the one. Not sure I could have handled more! emoticon
Hope you get more sleep tonight... emoticon

Oh FIRILE.. I wish I had more energy to offer you....sounds like you really need a big old batch to kick that bronchitis! emoticon
Image

Saijen... I'm glad you did not do much...but hopefully sit in your new comfy chairs! emoticon
