Re: January Chat Thread!
Queeny: Oh, I'm kicking the bronchitis hard, with an antibiotic warhammer. It's really the big guns, and man, do they space me out ... at least for a couple of hours after I took the daily pill.

Re: January Chat Thread!
Queeny, very glad that Ginger seems to be doing OK. If she's jumping with that leg, it's highly unlikely that it's broken.
Firle, happy to hear you're getting better. Was really getting worried about you and that cough.
Texas....I feel for ya, hon!! I have to say that I'm glad my kids were far enough apart that I didn't have those problems.
How far along are you? A. is 18 weeks..as of yesterday I think...but she can feel the baby moving. She has another sonogram scheduled for the 28th.....and she's going to the 3D sonongram place in Killeen for souvenier package.
I hope you can get some rest. Does Willa take naps? If so, and you're able...take naps when she does when you're at home. I know you have things you need to do...but sometimes you getting rest is more important.
Here...not a lot today. Woke to sunshine that went away about mid afternoon. I was a bit hung over from pain meds and a muscle relaxer...none of them taken at the same time. I dozed off and on in my chair this afternoon, then I called a day spa here in town to see how much a massage would be....so have one scheduled for tomorrow at 2:30.....a full hour, for less than $55. I'm hoping it will help the pain in my back and my leg. I'll find out if they do insurance...and if so, may see if I can get an order for at least one more. If not...oh well.
Earlier tonight, my nephew calls me to ask a favor. I jokingly told him and my nieces that if they ever needed someone to help them jew a car dealer down, to let me know....well, my nephew is asking for my help. My niece (his older sister) is wanting to trade her current vehicle in for something easier on gas and a lower payment. He may not always be able to be with her (she got taken the last time she negotiated on her own) so he wants someone to help....and he called me...so, I'm supposed to meet him at the dealership Saturday..hope it goes well so we're not there all afternoon and evening.
Most looking forward to tomorrow's appointment...LOL.

Re: January Chat Thread!
Saijen: Good luck with the car dealer. It is sensible to move to something that's cheaper to maintain and run. Interesting use of the word "jew" there, though. Oh, and good luck for the massage, hope they can get you relief.
Queeny: I don't like being spaced out. And I don't like feeling queasy.
At least the cough is less. Back to the doc on Monday, and then we'll see.

Re: January Chat Thread!
Firle, I seem to be one of those that reacts to most meds with getting spacey or queasy or just feeling wrong. It is no fun at all! But antibiotics, when used properly, really are a miracle drug. Glad things seem to be on the mend even if it's not happening as fast as you want!
Saijen, I'm 20 weeks along. This is A's first, right? I didn't feel Willa kicking until 20 weeks, but this time I started feeling movement around 14 weeks - that's really early and the midwives didn't really believe me, but I was sure! I guess you just remember what it's like and figure it out sooner the second time. Glad she is getting the second sonogram. There's nothing like worrying during a pregnancy...
Just usual office crud today. Went to the chiro this morning and things are looking good but she still wants me in twice next week to make sure I’m stabilizing. Didn’t get to any tapping with Willa last night – she was in a great mood and running around like crazy. I thought it might be a good time to introduce it anyway even though she wasn’t having any issues – just get her used to it. But she was too busy!

Re: January Chat Thread!
Well...the haggling didn't happen. Turns out the 'event' was for new cars only. And that turned out to be in my favor...I was sick as crud yesterday. Not sure if it was due to the massage on Friday or what.
The massage was wonderful, but she told me I'm extremely toxic...so she used a machine on me that felt like a vibrating massager, but it helps to detoxify, as well as work muscle and soft tissue, so not sure if that made me sick or not. When she was done with me, I was like a limp, wet noodle. I had to sit on the edge of the bed for a bit before getting dressed. Then, sat in the truck for a good 10 minutes before driving. I was really light-headed, and too limp to try to drive. I sat and drank the water she gave me when I came out of the room. The rest of the day, I was so relaxed I didn't do anything, but had a really bad night with my leg, so had to take a Lortab, and eventually, had to take a muscle relaxer
Spent the day in bed yesterday, sleeping off a headache and some extreme nausea. Much better today.
Firle, my sister suggested some Olive Leaf for Fenyx's cough and bronchitis 'left-overs'. May be worth looking into for yourself. She said it can be found in just about any health food place
http://www.nutritional-supplement-truths.com/benefits-of-olive-leaf-extract.html
She swears by this stuff. She stopped my BIL's bronchitis from getting bad by using it. So....just a suggestion
Texas, yes, it's A's first, but she's so in tune with her body, she feels everything. You're only about a week-week and a half further along than she is. She'll be 19 weeks either Tue. or Wed of next week.
I hope you continue to stabilize!
Queeny, yep, sounds like Ginger is making Mommy work! hehe. I'm glad she's doing better, though. Sounds like just a sprain.

Re: January Chat Thread!
Saijen: Thanks for the olive leaf tip. That's the second time someone told me about it, so I'm going to look for it!
Glad the massage felt good! And I'm sure the lady had a point about being so toxic. You're taking a LOT of pills. Hope she can help you to detoxify further, that might do a lot of good. And good on you for just going with what your body needed. Sometimes, going through detoxification can take a lot out of you and make you feel worse for a bit before taking effect.
As for me, I went back to the doctor's office today. He was quite happy with my progress and could only hear the slightest bit of sound in one of my lungs. However, he suggested another week of rest - so I'm still off on sick leave. I'm happy and chagrined at the same time, don't like to leave my work for so long - but I know I have to take good care of myself, or I'll run straight into a relapse.
Oh, and the side effects have lessened. I found out that if I take it on an empty stomach, and don't eat anything for another half hour to hour, I won't get queasy. Even so, it is a poison that's killing bacteria ... and it would be strange if it didn't affect my own body cells at all.
At least I am getting better, and that's all that counts.

Some western medicine drugs are pretty scary (powerful and important, but scary). I feel like their goal is to kill the 'bad thing' just before they kill you. Think of chemotherapy drugs for instance. Thank goodness we have them, but they do a number on your body. Be sure to replace the good bacteria in your gut with yogurt!
Busy weekend, but mostly didn't actually get anything done. I hate that feeling - like you ran around all day but have nothing to show for it. Just usual office stuff today! Nothing exciting at all!

Re: January Chat Thread!
AS FOR ME....
Doing laundry!! Amazing isn't it? *Yeah, I hear ya snickering!*
We played outside most all weekend. It was 70 degrees here, all the windows were open and the winds did not arrive till late Sunday night. SO two gorgeous days to be outside!
Saturday night we had dinner with the kids. Chris head is still draining and that is a good thing....lots of water there. Just annoying. BUT don't want to get our hopes up yet....BUT, he says now that the water is draining, he does not seem to have ANY PAIN in his temple area. That is where the Trigeminal pain was the worst. Seems it's just the incision site. So keep your finger crossed that it worked! ***Happy Mom dance here!***
Also that he can get through 3 days of classes, with no bending over or lifting anything heavier than 2 liters... Cause till DOC says all clear, those are his orders ( I told him to take those with him to every class, show every professor and the front office...)
Now need to catch up....laundry, cleaning, etc.
But I'll be on and off today.
TMI"m with you.....I know some of our medicines now kill off the bad stuff, just before killing us...Look at most of our cancer cures!
