Re: January Chat Thread!

TM: Well, I suppose you'll have to share that pie recipe now that you mentioned it over here.

  emoticon

As for me, it seems the thrush is basically conquered. I ate a LOT of garlic in the last couple of days, ate plenty of yoghurt, and occasionally had a sip of 40% snaps.

However ... I have severe problem with strength and stamina. I went for a walk today, planning to go downtown, but I didn't even get halfway before I felt that I should better turn back. I'm tired, and I feel just as worn out as the day I went to the doc for the first time! The good news is that I'm hardly coughing anymore, but that is also coming back.

I probably should go back for another week of sick leave, but I don't want to! I have clients next week ...

Re: January Chat Thread!

[sign in to see URL] and turnips???? I love raw turnips, but not real big on cooked ones, but it may be interesting to try.

Glad you had some good times over the weekend, with the birthday party and such.

Firle, maybe you do need to return to the doctor, even if you do go back to work! Fenyx has this same mess, and it's really causing her some problems. Mostly extreme coughing. She went back to the doc and they told her the bronchitis was still hanging [sign in to see URL] had not gone into pneumonia, thankfully. They gave her a steroid injection, some more cough syrup and a different antibiotic. You may need something different as well. Please take care of yourself!!

I've posted my adventure from yesterday in a thread all it's own. Hope y'all can make sense out of [sign in to see URL]

Re: January Chat Thread!

The pie was great! I will post a link to the recipe!

Couldn't post yesterday because I was having too much fun! emoticon I logged on a few times but got interrupted each time! We had another birthday brunch (for [sign in to see URL] of birthdays in our family this time of year!) on Sunday and it was just the family this time at a restaurant. The place we wanted to go had an hour wait so we saw another place just a block away with hardly a soul in there. Not a good sign, but my grandmother doesn't have the stamina for long outings anymore, so off we went. The food was DELICIOUS! The service was HORRIBLE! I bet it took us longer to eat there than it would have at the other place if we had waited an hour first! But it was worth it and fun - and not nearly as loud.

Oh, they also couldn't get drink orders right to save their lives. Hubby ordered coffee and got hot brown water. I seriously wouldn't have thought there was a molecule of coffee in it had it not been for the color. He explained the problem and asked for another cup and this time it came out so strong you could hardly drink it! Then he ordered a sprite later in the meal. It came but was just soda water - the syrup must have been out. Again, he explained the problem and they apologized and asked if wanted something else so he asked for a coke. This time is was totally flat!!! He actually thought it was very funny, but a lot of diners would not put up with something like that. No wonder the place was empty!

And then we got home and I just played with wool all day! I'll update the yarn making post!

I am back, barely...
Left a very LONG update on Chris in his topic. ,offset=60#post112414]HERE, LINK Unfortunately, in my attempt to help the kids (cleaning, sanitizing and rearraging their place), I hurt myself. I can barely move and because both Saturday and half of Sunday I kept taking my Vicodin and Valium (way more than I should have)....I kind of hurt everything. Back, sciatica, neck, [sign in to see URL] even my arms hurt. And I had to sleep in this morning to get the rest of the drugs out of my system. Then take a [sign in to see URL] KNOW! I [sign in to see URL] all you want. But I was NOT letting Chris come home to a house full of germs! PERIOD, end of discussion. Cali is a lovely woman, caring and [sign in to see URL] she had NEVER been taught how to clean! That place had more garbage, [sign in to see URL] and 'stuff' growing in old slushy cups and old Starbucks coffee [sign in to see URL] sitting around their room! And OMG! The bathrooms have not seen bleach in at least several months.
But I hope that my cleaning and organizing gives her a hint, and because they got back before I was done, there was no less than 30 BAGS OF JUST GARBAGE laying in their hallway that I left for them to carry down the stairs and toss! Hopefully, even my Son who does know how to [sign in to see URL] taught him, now feels guilty about it! Cause they all had to help my [sign in to see URL] son even said, "So who needs to be in the hospital now?" As he helped me out of my chair.
[sign in to see URL] you read the update it was all one giant, excuse my Sailor [sign in to see URL] giant "Cluster !@#$" but lets hope it's over, other than coming off the drugs!

MISSED YOU ALL emoticon And thank you for always thinking of us..

emoticon Wow, read and commented on your update on your board. I really don't know what to say...

Sorry to hear you are in a bad way too! Yikes! [sign in to see URL] was also never really taught to clean but I can manage to not have 30 bags worth of trash building up in my house! (now, the [sign in to see URL], that's another story!). I sure hope they appreciate everything you did.

NOW RELAX AND TAKE A BREAK!!!!

Re: January Chat Thread!

Read the thread and posted a reply there, as well. Good grief!!! What a horrific time you all have had!

And the cleaning. I'm not the best housekeeper, but you won't find that kind of garbage/trash in my house. I get pissed at my DH when he lets the kitchen trashcan flow over. We don't put food in any inside trash [sign in to see URL] peels, apple cores, etc, all get thrown outside. Any leftovers from meals get divided between the [sign in to see URL] corn cobs get thrown into the [sign in to see URL] do other things the dogs won't eat. It helps hold down any odors. All glasses that are [sign in to see URL] done with, get water put in them till time to wash them (no dishwasher here). There is no excuse for not cleaning if you're at all [sign in to see URL] not learning [sign in to see URL], is not a good enough excuse. I hope those kids appreciate the effort you went to and that they'll not only keep it up, but I sure hope they thanked you!!!

Now....YOU
take care of yourself!!! THAT is an order!!!!! emoticon emoticon

Re: January Chat Thread!

My back is KILLING me today! My next chiro appointment isn't until Friday. I may have to call and get an earlier one. Ouchie.

I have my ultrasound today! I'll post pictures if we get any good ones.

Mom is taking me out to lunch after the ultrasound and we are going to stop by Jo Ann's (craft store) and Sur la Table (high end kitchen store). I have a feeling I may be getting a few late birthday presents! emoticon

Reminder: Tomorrow, this thread will be closed and a new February chat thread will be opened!

Re: January Chat Thread!

TM: Try tapping on that back pain, as well. Be as specific as you can: kind of pain, shape of pain, color of pain. And tap with as much emotion as you can muster.

*hugs*

We can skype, too. emoticon
