Re: How do you keep 'Pagan'?

I've been taking a little time for myself. Told myself, no more daytime internet use! It's too easy to waste the day away. I am trying to take a few minutes for some yoga or meditation in the morning, and get outside every day since we are having some crazy good weather for March in MN! Also working on some craft projects for possible income. I'm looking forward to the book I ordered for the discussion group. (Supposedly will be here tomorrow! Yay!) Maybe that will give me some inspiration.

I enjoy reading your experiences- gives me much to think about, and I feel a little less alone. emoticon

I'm glad we help you feel less alone, Rebecca. I feel the same way about this group. No 2 of us are on the same path, but we're on similar enough paths that it helps to discuss the things that work for us, and the things that trip us up.
Being solitairy is so hard if you don't have any place at all where you can go (like here). I simply adore our members, and the great things they each bring to our family here....and we are a family.

Re: How do you keep 'Pagan'?

Rebecca what you wrote pretty much summed me up as well. I'm a definite solitary. I get along great with people, prefer Nature.....but can get along with pretty much anyone. I just don't like following a group, being told what to do or how to do something. And yet, I fear going to far on my own. My rituals are very basic and safe and always have the approval of my Spirit guide. But I've no 'teacher' never have. My Son has told me much of what I know and some things perhaps I should not have known. emoticon My husband was French Canadian Roman Catholic...but he's pulled back so far because his religion has changed so much that he no longer can trust them. But he also is not even close to believing in my Path. Perhaps someday.
I do know for a fact that this is the right Path for me. After this week and the death of my little sister....I KNOW the Goddess, spirit guides from more than one source were all there for me. So I do not have to worry about questioning that.
I am just going to go along, in a way like Terry...with the randomness of the toss of a dice. emoticon

Queeny, I'm so sorry about the loss of your sister. I am glad that the Goddess and your spirit guides are there for you.

Yes, the more I think of it, the more I realize I am a 'lone wolf' when it comes to this path. I think I'm okay with it now. When the time is right, if the time is right, perhaps that will change. And if it doesn't, it doesn't. Again, I really enjoy speaking with you all on the board here. emoticon

Thank you dear one... emoticon
And being a 'lone wolf' has it's advantages. Honestly, more advantage than disadvantages to be honest. I mean we get to explore more of ourselves when we are alone. Some places a group may not take us, but the Spirits you open yourself up to, might. emoticon

Re: How do you keep 'Pagan'?

I think, in a sense, every one of us here are 'lone wolves'. I was the only one who was attached to a group for any length of time, and discovered that, while I enjoyed the company and the fun we would have at some of the Sabbat and Esbat celebrations, I was not as much of a 'joiner' when it came to the actual coven stuff. When I went in search of something, I was actually just wanting someone to help guide me and teach me so that I could work on my own.....but it ended up not being that way. It had it's purpose, but it's not a need now like it was then. I think, at that point, I was actually trying to see if this truly was a path I wanted to pursue, and needed something more 'hands on' to help me get over the life-long ingrained Christian view of it as being sinful, bad, ignorant, deadly....etc, etc, etc.
Now, I have my best friend, who was my High Priestess (whom I would not have met if I'd not done the 'group thing'), I have a better understanding of what I do and do not want as far as my path goes, and I have come to grips with myself....ALL of me. I may not like that I'm overweight, but I have accepted that...for now....I am, and I love me just as I am. Jelly rolls and all! Doesn't mean I won't continue to work on losing weight, but it means I'm content with who, and what I am, where I am right now, and that's all I need.

Re: How do you keep 'Pagan'?

Sounds like we are all this song:

Swimming to the Other Side - Elaine Silver

We are living 'neath the great Big Dipper
We are washed by the very same rain
We are swimming in the stream together
Some in power and some in pain
We can worship this ground we walk on
Cherishing the beings that we live beside
Loving spirits will live forever
We're all swimming to the other side

I am alone, and I am searching
Hungering for answers in my time
I am balanced at the brink of wisdom
I'm impatient to receive a sign
I move forward with my senses open
Imperfection, it be my crime
In humility I will listen
We're all swimming to the other side

We are living 'neath the great Big Dipper
We are washed by the very same rain
We are swimming in the stream together
Some in power and some in pain
We can worship this ground we walk on
Cherishing the beings that we live beside
Loving spirits will live forever
We're all swimming to the other side

On this journey through thoughts and feelings
Binding intuition, my head, my heart
I am gathering the tools together
I'm preparing to do my part
All of those who have come before me
Band together and be my guide
Loving lessons that I will follow
We're all swimming to the other side

We are living 'neath the great Big Dipper
We are washed by the very same rain
We are swimming in the stream together
Some in power and some in pain
We can worship this ground we walk on
Cherishing the beings that we live beside
Loving spirits will live forever
We're all swimming to the other side

When we get there we'll discover
All of the gifts we've been given to share
Have been with us since life's beginning
And we never noticed they were there

We can balance at the brink of wisdom
Never recognizing that we've arrived
Loving spirits will live together
We're all swimming to the other side

We are living 'neath the great Big Dipper
We are washed by the very same rain
We are swimming in the stream together
Some in power and some in pain
We can worship this ground we walk on
Cherishing the beings that we live beside
Loving spirits will live forever
We're all swimming to the other side
Loving spirits will live forever
We're all swimming to the other side
