Feb Book: The Biology of Belief
Please join us in reading The Biology of Belief by Bruce Lipton!
From Amazon:
The Biology of Belief is a groundbreaking work in the field of New Biology. Author Dr. Bruce Lipton is a former medical school professor and research scientist. His experiments, and those of other leading-edge scientists, have examined in great detail the processes by which cells receive information. The implications of this research radically change our understanding of life. It shows that genes and DNA do not control our biology; that instead DNA is controlled by signals from outside the cell, including the energetic messages emanating from our positive and negative thoughts. Dr. Lipton's profoundly hopeful synthesis of the latest and best research in cell biology and quantum physics is being hailed as a major breakthrough showing that our bodies can be changed as we retrain our thinking.
Please let us know in this thread if you are planning on reading the book! We will start discussion on March 1st unless everyone checks in here to say they are finished before then.
I've found the book at AbeBooks for just about $10 (including shipping!)

Re: Feb Book: The Biology of Belief
I have the book ordered from Amazon...a bit pricier ($14.16...that is book plus shipping).
I will begin reading as soon as it gets here.

Re: Feb Book: The Biology of Belief
Ah, Amazon will ship books for free here. Sorry it's a bit pricy for you, Saijen!
I will re-read it in February, it's well worth it. And stick it out through the science part, it will get extremely interesting in about the middle.

Re: Feb Book: The Biology of Belief
I'm sorry to have to tell you all that I will not be joining in any book reading.
I don't have space to keep books, money to buy an book reading device, nor the inclination to read more than what I so online. So I won't be able to add to any discussion.

Re: Feb Book: The Biology of Belief
Queeny, we actually wondered about your ability to store new books! I hadn't even thought about ebooks for people with little space - great idea...if you have a device!
If in the future you come across a topical book you either own and want to reread, or want to check out from the library, or whatever - let us know and we can add it to the reading list. Anything we can do to help, we will!
(speaking of reading online...there are several Correlian Wicca books published online...so truly Queeny, if you find something you want us all to share in, we can make it work somehow!)

Okay dear...I shall keep in mind all you have said. I do tend to read online, but they are more like Native Folk lore's, storytelling, chants and such....

Re: Feb Book: The Biology of Belief
I think even Native American lore could work for what we're doing....we could learn from that as easly as we do from more recent things. Will be something to look into.
Queeny, we do hope you'll be able to join in now and then. You bring some interesting insights to things.

Re: Feb Book: The Biology of Belief
It would be great for short assignments. If it's just an essay online, a link can be posted and we can all read it in a few days. Shouldn't be too hard! If you come across anything Queeny, send me a PM and I'll put it on the list!

Re: Feb Book: The Biology of Belief
Ack! My estimated delivery date is now Feb 9th! That's one thing about Amazon - you might pay a bit more for the book, but you get it fast. I'm sure I'll be able to read it in the time though!
