February Chat Thread

Happy February!

I just closed the old chat thread, and this is the new one for the new month. And it starts right out with Imbolc!

Have a wonderful Wednesday, and share what's going on.

Re: February Chat Thread

Happy Imbolc all!

Everything checked out a-ok with the baby on the ultrasound yesterday. I was "measuring small" - each prenatal visit, they measure how tall your womb is. It's supposed to be the same number of centimeters as you are weeks into the pregnancy, give or take one centimeter. But at 18.5 weeks, I was measuring just 15. The midwife could feel that the baby was a decent size - she said it was just hanging out down low in my roomy hips! emoticon But it was nice to see on the ultrasound that in fact the baby is growing properly.

And we couldn't have found out the gender if we had wanted to! The baby was cooperating in that regard, but we got to see everything else. Oh, and she checked the umbilical length and the place of attachment. I had problems with Willa because her cord was so short and it was attached right on the edge of the placenta. Everything looks fine with this one though!

Willa is off at the farm with her grandparents today - their first time taking care of her all day without either of us around. She's been a bit crabby lately - not sure if it's just approaching the 2-yr old phase or if her molars are coming in or what. I hope she has a ton of fun and doesn't give them a hard time!

Happy February, [sign in to see URL] Happy Imbolc!!

Same ole same ole [sign in to see URL] can be a good [sign in to see URL] least nothing bad is going on! emoticon

Rainy, drippy, foggy day today. Would have preferred more sunshine, but I have a feeling all this rain now is going to come in handy later in the year. At least it's not really cold!

[sign in to see URL] you for getting us started on a new month!

And Texas, I hope Willa enjoys her day with her grandparents. Sounds like she may be trying to cut more teeth. Those molars can sure make a little one cranky!!!
Excellent news on the baby progress!! So, you're still not sure if it's a boy or a girl? I've been told that if you're carrying the baby in your hips, it's a girl. If you're carrying it all up front in your belly, it's a boy. Amber is carrying hers in her hips and it sounds like you are, too. [sign in to see URL] we'll find out if that theory is true or not in a few months. emoticon

Re: February Chat Thread

Happy Tuesday!

I'm still working on getting better. Yesterday, the walk to work was easier, but concentrating on doing my job was still hard. I rushed back home, for a session. And then my client didn't show up ... *grumbles*

I went into a kind of mental fog for the rest of the day. Not pleasant, but at least I got a meal cooked.

I posted about the diet book I'm reading and giving up grains, but I cooked pasta with ground beef and tomato sauce ... and felt very unhappy with the meal. You know, how your stomach can be full but you're not satisfied? That's how I felt for the rest of the day, scavenging around for other kinds of food. I hope that shifting to the new diet might change that, as well. I will definitely do a shopping run today, to get what I need for that.

At least I'm sleeping better, and almost stopped coughing. And the walk to work was good, despite the cold. I hope that trend continues.

Sneaking in, whilst sitting with an icepack on my back!
I can not say if it worked until the swelling goes down and I'm allowed to move around some.
I can say that I am not paralyzed! *giggles, thats a good thing* But I do feel like someone beat my back with a baseball bat! Sore, swollen and black and blue...
I'm not allowed to move/push/or pull anything more than 7 pounds for the next 2 to 3 days. OH and ...only those discs that have the spurs should be [sign in to see URL] I have spondylosis and spinal stenosis through out the whole spine, that is why it is inoperable. Cause I'll just keep making more [sign in to see URL] the more you open up a person, the worse it heals. I'll never be pain [sign in to see URL] even half the pain is a good thing!
Then I need to take it easy for a week or so after that. Needless to say, I will NOT be shampooing the kids carpet! (OH BUMMER!!! Teehee)
I won't be online much, still need to lay on icepacks most of the time, but I'm keeping my eye on you! **evillaugh**
But thank you all for your love and [sign in to see URL] all incredible!

Nice day here so far. Supposed to have the winds up to 40 MPH later today, not looking forward to that.... emoticon

FIRLE..So glad you are feeling better. And I hope you can find a diet that leaves you satisfied and safe...♥

TM... So glad that baby's ultrasound all came out great! emoticon
Willa might be teething or starting her terrible [sign in to see URL] I stopped in my son, the first temper he tried... emoticon
Good luck hon!

HI YA SAIJEN.... rain is always handy, and at least it was not snow! emoticon

Same ole same ole [sign in to see URL] at least it was the SSDD with some sunshine today. That's supposed to change by tomorrow night emoticon

DH met up with a former coworker today, and the guy have him some canned bear meat (uncooked) and some canned [sign in to see URL]'t notice if it was cooked or not. I've never eaten bear before. It looks nasty as *BLEEP*, but I'll give it a [sign in to see URL] some point!!

Firle, glad your cough is finally easing off, and you had a fairly easy walk to work.
I know all too well that feeling you [sign in to see URL] being full, but not satisfied. I get that way a LOT, then I am miserable by bedtime. I do a lot better when I eat 3 good meals a day, and have some fruit or yogurt between [sign in to see URL], I don't do that every day. Some days I just don't feel like eating because absolutely nothing sounds good.

Queeny, you better not shampoo the kid's [sign in to see URL] haul out more trash, or clean their [sign in to see URL] don't want to have to meet you because of having to come kick your behind! :devilfire:

Oh [sign in to see URL] I voted for you there too! emoticon
You did advertise this one at my place too right?......GEEZ! I swear if my head was not screwed [sign in to see URL]'d lose it this week! emoticon

Okay my dear [sign in to see URL]'m about ready to hit the ice pack. Hubby said we'd try going out to dinner and picking up some groceries if I feel like it. [sign in to see URL] heck yes! [sign in to see URL], we'll see.
But I won't be back online all weekend. Need to do a [sign in to see URL] bit of cleaning my place after a week it needs it. Then, well Sunday is Superbowl (and the commercials)...so I have to make my special "SUPER NACHO" stuff and take it over to the kids to watch it with them.
So, I shall see you all on MONDAY! Have a fantastic weekend!

Re: February Chat Thread

Today hasn't been too awfully bad here. I called Lowe's, yet again, about the drip tray for the ice/water [sign in to see URL] I never got. No clue what's going on with that. We bought this fridge in July of last year, and I'm STILL waiting on this darn drip [sign in to see URL] 7 months later! (and they knew it was missing within 30 minutes of them delivering the fridge!! )

Then, I went online to the Salvation Army price guide to put monetary amounts next to donated items, for income tax purposes.
After that, I started looking at free crochet patterns online for something that grabbed my attention to make the covers for the arms and backs of our new chairs. I learned a new [sign in to see URL] doily looking things that people used to put on chairs (for the same purpose I am doing [sign in to see URL] hair oils and body oils from staining the upholstry)...those actually had a [sign in to see URL] were antimacassar sets.
The definition of Antimacassar:
an·ti·ma·cas·sar   /ˌæntɪməˈkæsər/ Show Spelled[an-ti-muh-kas-er] Show IPA
noun
a small covering, usually ornamental, placed on the backs and arms of upholstered furniture to prevent wear or soiling; a tidy.

In the process, I found a really neat site that has all sorts of crafting [sign in to see URL], sewing, crochet, knitting, paper [sign in to see URL]. You have to join the [sign in to see URL] it's free, and they have over 3,000 free patterns. I found some things I want to try in the future, but nothing that really grabbed me for the [sign in to see URL] though they actually have a free pattern for an antimacassar set. It was a bit too dainty for my taste, so I decided I would just do a shell/fan pattern, and, maybe do something different later on, so I can have a set to use when I need to wash the first set. I'll post the link to the site here (since I'm talking about it here), even though it probably should go in the Craft forum. We can move it later if we need/want to.

Since I was taught some of the crochet stitches wrong, I found a site that has a lot of commonly used stitches and downloaded it to my [sign in to see URL] since I'd never done the shell/fan pattern before, did the same with it, and did a trial run with it to be sure it was something I was going to be OK with. Easy stitch to do!!

I've also spent some time reading this month's book for the book group.

Managed to get the living room swiffer sweeper vacuumed (love my swiffer sweeper vac!!) and a few other light things accomplished. More energy today than I've had in a while, so felt good about that!

Firle, we're up to 14 votes now!! And going strong. I know we've not won yet, but I think we have a really good shot at it this time.
Hope you're feeling much better!!!!

Queeny, good on going out for dinner so you won't have to cook. Cooking is one thing that actually makes my back [sign in to see URL] the dishes is just as bad. Thing is, I love to [sign in to see URL] used to anyway! Where'd you go that was good???

I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and are able to relax as much as you need [sign in to see URL] not more! Enjoy the game with the [sign in to see URL]'s in your Super Nacho stuff????? DH loves that kind of stuff and so do I!
