AS FOR ME TODAY..
Need to grab a shower, and clean a bit. We'll probably be out running about all weekend. At least tomorrow for certain. We'll be wandering the ]FOUNTAIN HILLS GREAT FAIR...(link here) Could take the greater part of the day, with close to 480 venders...
So who knows, by Sunday I may be icing down the old sciatica/back!
But [sign in to see URL] a few things, so I should be around off and on all day.

SAIJEN... I'm glad you are taking this to the next level! That's what we did, and are still doing. Son's operations, my back [sign in to see URL] are just more and more alternatives out there! So hang in their Sister, something will come along to help, I just know it will! emoticon
A Healing Prayer:

Oh Great Goddess
Mother of Mercy and Healing
Send the energy of Hygeia
to nourish from Her Sacred Bowl
Send the energy of Brigid
to heal with waters of Her Sacred Well
Send the energy of Demeter
to restore life to withering cells
Send the energy of Quan Yin
to bless the healing with peace
Send Your healing wisdom to this friends body
to restore its sacred balance.
Thank You Great Goddess

Thank you for the beautiful prayer, Queeny! emoticon

I hope you enjoy your outting tomorrow and maybe find some goodies!!! Just take it slow and easy.

I actually got into bed by midnight last night. I was falling asleep here at the computer! LOL. DH and I stayed up and watched TV till midnight. Got into bed and about 10 minutes later he says "Is that rain?" I raise up on one elbow, listen and, [sign in to see URL] was POURING! Get up, unplug the computer and go back to bed. Got to sleep and at around 1:30-2, the weather radio goes [sign in to see URL] thunderstorm warning. [sign in to see URL] it off, go back to bed. Finally get back to sleep, only be awakened again by the weather [sign in to see URL] severe thunderstorm warning. *heavy sigh*...crawl back in bed after going potty, get to [sign in to see URL] radio goes off [sign in to see URL] time, tornado warning, so I listened to that one. It was for the most eastern portion of our county (about 10 miles East of us) and up into VA. Looked out the [sign in to see URL] back to bed. That was just before sun-up. Back to [sign in to see URL] [sign in to see URL] watch till 4pm for our county and couties to our east and Northeast. DH just gets up. I go back to [sign in to see URL] [sign in to see URL]'mon!!! I finally said screw [sign in to see URL] up (this is around 9 by this time)..updated tornado [sign in to see URL] till 4pm, but some other counties added. Get my ratty house clothes on, go to the kitchen to feed Goober and before I could get the top off the [sign in to see URL] RADIO! [sign in to see URL] I shoot the thing please????? Severe thunderstorm warning ([sign in to see URL]???? emoticon we're under a tornado [sign in to see URL] course we've got severe thunderstorms!) Finally got the cat fed, myself a cup of coffee and plopped down into DH's chair (he was in mine). So far, that was the last time it's gone off. Even if you unplug it, it's also battery powered in the event of power loss. DH [sign in to see URL] take the batteries out. [sign in to see URL] we ARE under a tornado watch, I'd prefer to have to deal with the dang thing and KNOW what's what than to just take a guess. We don't have the availability of emergency sirens out here, so we need something we can rely on.

I posted some photos of A's 3D sonogram she had done on Tuesday. AMAZING photos!!! That baby is going to look like her Momma!!! In one, she looks like she's frowing, in another, like she's trying to smile. These are such precious photos!

Tomorrow is the work day at the [sign in to see URL] it cleaned up, painted and ready to host some drama troupes. I'm looking forward to this, and sure hope I can get some sleep tonight!!!! LOL

Re: February Chat Thread

Saijen, I hope you get a calm night tonight! Isn't it a bit early in the year for a tornado watch? I hope you're safe.

We don't have weather radio, but then, we don't have that kind of weather, either! I can get online warnings of the weather service, but the worst thing usually are high winds, and we deal with those on a regular basis anyway. *shrugs*

I had a rough day, in a way. Dealt with my boss again (these darn key numbers just keep popping up!), but things are getting easier. She's not a bad person at all, but we need to work out a procedure and I need to learn what she wants so I'm not feeling stupid and useless anymore. Argh.

Was too tired in the afternoon to do anything. Couldn't nap because a friend wanted to come over to drop something off. She finally came at 3:30, too late for a real nap, since I had to leave home at 5:15 to each a class. I had a half-hour catnap in my armchair, at least.

Class went very well, fortunately. Happy participants, and thus happy Firle. Might get an appointment out of this, even. So, had some wine and will go to bed to really sleep in tomorrow morning. emoticon

HI SAIJEN... your welcome dear.. emoticon
I hope you enjoy your work day at the theater, just don't go over-doing [sign in to see URL] I promise I will try not to over do it either! emoticon
I hear you about the Early warning weather [sign in to see URL] had one out in the country [sign in to see URL] it, but was better than nothing. But as soon as we got to where we had those [sign in to see URL] tossed that sucker and slept with my window open a crack, so as to hear them! emoticon
Can't wait to run off and see the pictures! emoticon

HI FIRLE..don't worry [sign in to see URL] of these days it will all just 'hit' you and you'll understand completely what is required of you. And you will be fantastic at that too. I'm glad you got a wee catnap in though and that you had a good class and happy participants! emoticon You have a good nights sleep...

Re: February Chat Thread

Firle, yes, it's way too early in the year, but we've had such screwy weather all winter. It's rare that we don't get at least one good snowfall, and several rounds of extremely iced over roads. So far this [sign in to see URL] small snowfall, 2 icy [sign in to see URL] rest, the temps have been way too warm for the season.
It's clouding back up now, although the watch should have expired about 45 minutes ago, I have a feeling we're still in for some nastiness. We deal with the high winds here regularly as well, so that doesn't bother me. It's getting darker and darker as I write [sign in to see URL] just hate days like this!
I'm glad you got at least a small nap in!!

Queeny, I intend to let them know that I am limited in what I can do, tomorrow. I want them to know, up front, that I'm willing to do what I can, but not to push. I think it'll be OK though, and, who knows, this may help my legs [sign in to see URL] up and moving a bit more.

Re: February Chat Thread

Scary weather Saijen! We are just inside the hilly area here so no real threat of tornadoes. There is an occasional warning and a few touchdowns but those are usually years apart!

Queeny, can't wait to hear about the fair!

[sign in to see URL]'t bosses the best? emoticon My current one is certainly the best I've ever [sign in to see URL] still!

Ok, haven't updated in a few days.

Friday, hubby got to play with the little bug all day. It was cold and windy so at least they weren't playing outside, which makes me so jealous. Still, it was hard to concentrate at work! I left work a little early and we walked to our neighbors house to pick up our raw milk. She has a 2 year old daughter too (and twin 5 year olds) so they played for a bit. My neighbor also had all sorts of odd pregnancy issues so it's nice talking to her and commiserating. That night, we went over to my dad's house to hang out with my brother and his friend who are in town from L.A. We like to play "nerd games" (strategy board games like Chaos in the Old World) but I was still feeling tired from recently *nearly* getting sick and didn't want to stay up late. The boys all played and Willa, my dad and I cozied up by the fire and chatted about work. Pawpaw even put Willa to bed for me, so I got a lot of relaxation time. Hubby wasn't done playing games until one in the morning though! He woke me up, we bundled up Willa, and home we went.

Yesterday, Saturday was awesome! We went to the South farmer's market (we usually go to the downtown - the closet one) because that's were the best pork sausage is. Hadn't been to that one in probably a [sign in to see URL] remembered why we don't go! Willa loves the market, especially breakfast tacos from Taco Deli. Well, Taco Deli isn't at the South market! So she whined for "taco belly" for a bit but had a blast running around and playing with a few kids there. I picked up a TON of meat. I hadn't planned on so much, but the farmer only had big cuts left so I was stuck with what he had. We bought $85 in [sign in to see URL] last us a LONG time! Artichokes are also in season! YUMMY! But that market has maybe 1/4 of the stands of the other market and is about 15 minutes farther away. The farmer with the sausage also goes to a Wed. [sign in to see URL]'ll have to do that when we run out next time!

Then we headed off to an Asian grocery to start our Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands adventure. We'd never been to that store (the one we used to go to all the time burned down a few months ago). This place was HUGE. It was as big as a regular grocery but chalk full of exotic foodstuffs. Took us forever to find what we were looking for but we had a blast in there. The produce section was incredible. I would say I didn't know half of the fresh green vegetables. So many cool things!

Then we ran to Home Depot for some lighting to finish our 'kitchen illumination' project. Haven't finished installing them, but I'll update the Incremental Progress thread in the Hearth when we do!

Went home, ALL took a big nap and then headed over to my other brother's house for dinner. My out-of-town brother and his friend came too, along with an old Austin friend of his. So Willa got to play with her cousins and we had a lot of catching up to do as everyone has been so busy this month I've barely seen my brother and SIL. Got home just at Willa's bedtime and she was so pooped, she went to bed in about 10 minutes (usually take 30-45 minutes for the whole bedtime routine!).

Whew! Today we will probably be having brunch with my aunt and grandmother. Then back home to do some small house remodel chores and RELAX before starting the work week all over again!

Re: February Chat Thread

My goodness, Texas! Sounds like you've had a rather busy weekend as well!!! Lots of good [sign in to see URL] kind of 'eh' stuff and some good relaxing!

I love going into Asian markets. The closest one to us is about an hour and a half from here. At least that I know of. There may be one closer, but if there is, I don't know about it. One of my favorites from there is the Hoisin sauce. (I think I spelled that right). Our friends that we spend so much time with got us started on that stuff.

Good that y'all got some good visiting in, and Willa got to play with her cousins!

[sign in to see URL] was my great-niece's birthday party. She turned 3 last weekend and is such a doll. Her Aunt had a purple and blue tutu made for her, and she had gotten her a t-shirt with her name on it, in purple, and had made her a purple hairbow. She looked so cute! We had a veggie tray, fruit tray and cheese/meat [sign in to see URL] stuff. Then, of course, cake and ice cream. Bri got a lot of [sign in to see URL] kid racked up! LOL
I helped with the clean-up ( they rented a place for the party so my SIL didn't have to host a lot of people at her house. Good [sign in to see URL] were quite a few people there). My SIL had to work [sign in to see URL] is an over-night sitter for our landlord's mother-in-law (although tonight is the last [sign in to see URL] are putting her in a nursing home tomorrow), and asked if I'd mind taking her to work, since it's just around the corner from me. Of course I didn't care to do it. Didn't see any point in my BIL having to bring her then drive all the way to the other side of [sign in to see URL] beyond, home, when it was so close for me.

Tomorrow, I have to take same SIL to the dr. She always either buys me lunch, or pays for some gas when I take her to her appointments. Generally opt for lunch, and we'll go somewhere for a burger or something.

One day this week, I may go to the radio station and get started on the Quick Books learning, then start, hopefully, getting the financial stuff input for the theater. Of course, I have no idea how organized the paperwork [sign in to see URL] I may end up having to oraganize that before I can do the other.
[sign in to see URL] stuff, and I'm LOVING it!!! Just hope I can keep it up!

WOW! That arts show was HUGE! We actually only did half on Saturday and went back on Sunday and did the other half Beautiful town, that Fountain Hills, used to be a huge Cattle ranch till the late 60's when a developer named Robert McCulloch, (*same guy who did the "London Bridge in Lake Havasu, [sign in to see URL] have those pics in travel)...anywho, this guy and another developer (Charles Wood, Jr. who designed of Disneyland in southern California) built a whole community around a man-made lake with this huge fountain. (The fountain, driven by three 600 horsepower (450kW) turbine pumps, sprays water at a rate of 7,000 gallons per minute though an 18-inch nozzle. With all three pumps and under ideal conditions, the fountain reaches 560 feet (170m) in height, though in normal operation only two of the pumps are used, with a fountain height of around 300 feet (91m). When built, it was the world's tallest fountain and held that record for over a decade.)
[sign in to see URL] place and we had a blast, almost walked ourselves to death in two days. But it was so worth it. Met the lady with the skirts,(bought 3 of them) that I wanted to [sign in to see URL] may be doing a show up in Idaho, at the Old Time Fiddlers festival in Weiser during the time we are up there! Freaking small world! Hubby found two HEAVY Southwest style footstools he's been wanting, carrying them the almost 1/2 mile back to car killed us the first day!
Supposed to get windy and cooler here for a few days, so I'm very glad we got out all weekend when it was no wind and 80!
[sign in to see URL] what [sign in to see URL]!? [sign in to see URL] I'll be around off and on to try to catch up! emoticon

SAIJEN....Sounds like you had a truly good one! Though busy, but your great-niece's birthday party sounds fun and she sounds like a little cutie pie!
I'd opt for the burger [sign in to see URL] way you get to sit and visit a bit more... emoticon
Good luck getting that paperwork organized! That is not a strong point of mine! emoticon
Hope you keep enjoying it and don't overwork yourself... emoticon

TM....HOLY [sign in to see URL] have been busy! *faints* Sounds like Willa had the best time this [sign in to see URL] of course you ending up with all the big cuts of meat, really is a good thing, will last a good long time.
And aren't those Asian grocery stores just a blast to shop at! I loved ours in [sign in to see URL] aisle, something new to discover! emoticon

Re: February Chat Thread

Well, survived the day today, but if there is one thing I hate, it's sitting in a doctor's office waiting room for hours! Which, I did today. My SIL had a gyn appt at 1:30, she was ready to check out, finally about 3:30 so I went on to the [sign in to see URL] had to wait another 10 minutes or so for her to get checked out! I was smart, though, and took my Kindle with me.

We headed to Krystal's for some burgers and chili (gooood stuff), then went to another town to the Walmart where my niece had gotten my great-niece's 3 yr old pictures made. They are SO good!!!
As we were going into the store, another friend of mine was sitting outside with some of the girls from her daughter's Girl Scout Troop, selling cookies. I had ordered and paid for 6 boxes last year, but never got [sign in to see URL] my friend told me to stop on my way out and she'd give me the 6 [sign in to see URL] of fresh ones and she'd pay for them. So, I got my GS cookies!

We left Walmart to head home. My DH calls (by this time it's almost 6pm) and asks me to stop on my way through our town, and get him a burger and iced tea. Told him I would. Then, SIL's DH calls and wants us to stop and get him some cold meds, so we had to back-track about 3 miles to the only store between where we were and their house, to get that. Finally got her home, stopped and got DH's burger and tea, and made it home about 7:45.

I was going to try to pick up some med refills today, but my drug store closes at 6:30, so I have to go out again tomorrow! emoticon [sign in to see URL] know I said I wanted to be [sign in to see URL] not THIS much busier! emoticon I plan on sleeping in tomorrow, as well as Wed. if at all possible.

Queeny, the art show sounds awesome! I love things like that, but DH just isn't into wandering through things like that, so I rarely push to go when we have shows of that nature here. Would LOVE to see pics of your new skirts! Are they the broomstick type skirts? I love those things! I'm so glad you and your DH had a good 2 days of wandering and you each found some things you were wanting.

Queeny: Great art show, and I'm glad you survived both days! Yay for getting something you both love.

 emoticon emoticon emoticon

Saijen: What a busy day! And yay for the GS cookies, that was a very nice thing of your friend to do. Take care and get your full night of sleep!

As for me, I spent the entire afternoon and part of the evening revising my job application, after a friend commented on it. He knows his stuff, he's training people to create good applications. I basically did everything wrong ... so I had to rewrite the cover letter, re-organize my curriculum vitae, add a picture and signatures, which meant fiddling with my scanner and a graphics program. Took me ages!

And now I should prepare for a little presentation I will do tomorrow evening, but I think I'll just head off to bed.
