It's usually about 3-4am when I'm browsing...LOL. I got this book on a whim...but the others I remember seeing by her all looked equally inviting. I just pulled up the author's page, and the main character..Stacy Justice (the reporter) has a series....so yes, there are more books with these characters! You can bet I'll be hooking up with some of them!! http://www.amazon.com/Barbra-Annino/e/B004CAHSWC I've just started another mystery, by another author I'd never heard of, and so far, it's also got me hooked, but I need to put down the Kindle and get back to reading the book club book!! (having a hard time getting into that one!...Science just isn't my thing..lol) nondisclosed_email@example.com (Saijen SilverWolf1)Sat, 11 Feb 2012 20:40:50 +0000 Re: Opal Firehttps://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p241730,from=rss#post241730https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p241730,from=rss#post241730I haven't heard of the author either! I usually don't read that sort of contemporary novel, but I have gotten into a few mysteries that I really liked. Good characters certainly make it a better tale! Are the other books about the same sisters or are they all stand-alone stories?nondisclosed_email@example.com (TexasMadness)Sat, 11 Feb 2012 14:23:19 +0000 Opal Firehttps://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p241722,from=rss#post241722https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p241722,from=rss#post241722by Barbra Annino I've never heard of this author before, but if all of her books are as good as this one, she'll become one of my favorites...right up there with Nora Roberts. Opal Fire is a murder mystery and most of the of the main female characters are Witches. The matriarch is an elderly lady, who runs a B&B with her 2 spinster sisters...all 3 are Witches. Birdie (the Matriarch) is grandmother to a reporter, who is also a Witch, and in a relationship with the town's chief of police. Her cousin owns and operates a local bar that gets torched while she and her reporter cousin are inside. The insurance adjuster claims it is arson and is blaming the bar's owner. During all of the investigation, a body is discovered in the basement wall of the bar......and the story is on! Lots of twists and turns, threats, more killing....but, while it has it's serious side, there is also a humorous side, that had me laughing throughout the book. I could hardly put it down. The things the spinster sisters do are hilarious at times..especially one of them. Just a really good read!! nondisclosed_email@example.com (Saijen SilverWolf1)Sat, 11 Feb 2012 06:22:39 +0000
