I feel the same way, I feel drained of all of my energy when I am not surrounded by Nature. Like I feel in the summers here in Vegas, Its so hot and I burn so easily that I tend to stay in the apt 24/7 and I feel completely disconnected most of the time, except when I am able to get out and go to the pool and just be at one with the water, look up at the Moon and connect with the cool night air. Nature invigorates me and keeps me feeling ALIVE. I truly for this reason do consider Nature/The Universe and The Goddess to be the same thing. I worship, revere and honor Nature because of this feeling of amazement, wonder, awe, power, etc that it gives me and Nature sustains us, everything that we need to survive comes from nature, Honey, herbs, Medicines even are derived from nature. No matter where I am I know that I am not alone. Whether it's a tree to talk to or a stone that feels warm in my hand, I have always got her with me and for the most part the trees are better company than most of the people that I hang around. It's the feeling that I get that lets me know that I can be me on this path and not be judged by those that share in the beauty and vastness of what she offers. And offers freely. nondisclosed_email@example.com (ABNRML1)Tue, 20 Mar 2012 00:25:22 +0000 Re: How do you feel that Nature assists on your chosen Path?https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p242456,from=rss#post242456https://bthepaganporch.runboard.com/p242456,from=rss#post242456Nature is definitely my Spiritual energizer. Without Nature around me, say like last week in the hospital, all day, never walking outside...I felt 'old' drained, unhealthy. But even as a kid, I preferred to go camping or hiking, rather than to 'football' games or high school dances. To this day, when I need to meditate I can take myself completely back to Sabrina lake (my very favorite place when I was young)....literally, I do not know if it's what they call plains walking, whatever....I literally go there. I can smell with my nose, the smell of the pines, the earth the moss on the trees and rocks, the musty smell of decaying bark, pine needles and leaf litter. I can hear with my ears, the wind in the pines, the squirrels running through the trees and leaf litter, chattering at each other and me....hear the deer and other creatures wandering just out of sight....Without Nature, I would not be here. I know I she saved me many years ago, when I'd lost my way and wanted to continue no longer....but I also know without Nature now, I'd slowly dry up and become old, the life force would drain away from me, like blood from a body whose wrists had been slashed...Nature is my reason for living. I have to try to save what I can, I have to try to make people SEE what we are doing to her, how we hurt her, how we need to fix the wounds we have already made and to harm her no more. For Nature, our Mother the Earth, has more than enough for man's needs. But not nearly enough for man's greed's. As John Muir once said: Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul. How, in your opinion, does Nature help you along your Path? For me, I can feel the energy in the dirt. When I have my hands in the soil (not potting soil, either....actually digging the Earth) a calm just sweeps over me, in me, around me. I can not stand for anything to be under my fingernails, but when I'm 'playing' in the dirt, it doesn't bother me. I rarely even notice until I've stopped playing! When I am outside...especially in the woods...I get that same peaceful feeling. I feel energized, happy. There are times that I know my husband thinks I'm totally looneytoons, but I talk to our trees, and I KNOW I can hear them respond. A TV doesn't repsond...nor does the dining room table, the living room chairs....Nature responds. The wildlife that we are privvy to here.....when I see the beauty of the deer as they play, graze or just walk through, it never ceases to amaze me. The wanderings of the wild turkey's...not just a random wandering. They make a circuit, twice a day....Nature has it's rituals, it's daily practices, and by watching, listening, I am learning. Certain flowers open during the day, and close at dusk....daily, without fail. Some flowers are closed during the day, and open at dusk...daily, without fail. As I watch what happens around me, I realize that I, too, need to be consistant with the things that work for me, and to shun those things that do not. This is how I feel Nature assists me....as I watch, I learn. I learn to be true to myself, and to do my best to be true and loyal to my teachers....which are all things living (and some that used to be living). Animals/people (both living and past), plants, and even things most don't think of as living... the air, water...they all have lessons, if we're willing to pay attention. Sometimes, the best knowledge doesn't come from a book, or a degreed scholar, it comes from a life well lived. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Saijen SilverWolf1)Mon, 19 Mar 2012 16:05:33 +0000
