Re: Just finished the Dryad Quartet

Muladzh, if you like anything paranormal, you'll enjoy the 'quartet' .... also, we have a couple of published writers here now... Firle, for one, and Syrakynn. Firle's is a wonderful short story, and Syra's is a full blown [sign in to see URL] both very much!

And [sign in to see URL] can hold a Kindle so much easier than a regular book. Doesn't hurt my hands nearly as much. I am considering going to a basic Kindle with a backlight, though. The one I have now has no light, so can't read in the dark.

And, have I said how good it is to see you posting???? LOL

Re: Just finished the Dryad Quartet

I have s kindle keyboard, makes it easier to shop with it, and for a light, I have a clip on LED one that works really well, though I have to admit, I read more on my computer, with Kindle for Mac, than I do the little kindle. The Frog has a kindle she uses a lot, and she reads mine to get at the books I have bought.

IT is good to be posting again.. emoticon

I love my little Kindle, too. I have about 80 books on it (and they are getting more by the week!), many of them free versions I found through FB friends. There's a lot of idiotic stuff out there - I read reviews now before "buying" for free - but also some awesome, awesome work.

I read the first Dryad book and found it very slow to start (I really feel that I would make a good but possibly terrifying editor!), but then the story picked up and got rather nice. I enjoyed the world the author created.

I'm also very much looking forward to Syrakynn's new novel, iirc it's supposed to come out soon.

And ... I'm working on the plot of an entirely new novel myself, which I will write in English right away. Shamanic SF, so that'll be lots of fun. So far, the MC is called "Emily Waverider Birdsong" (she calls herself Emily Song usually), and she probably has a Maori background. I'll have to delve into Maori lore soon. emoticon

[sign in to see URL]'ll be looking for your next [sign in to see URL] well as Syrakynn's! I enjoy both of your writing styles.

I like my Kindle because it's easier for my hands to hold on to. Plus, it fits in my purse a lot easier than an actual book, plus, I can play some games on it if I don't want to [sign in to see URL].
