It's about the spring equinox and all the insects throw a huge party to celebrate the butterflies hatching from their chrysalises. Just now looking it up, I've discovered that it's one of 4 books, each celebrating a season. I better get the others! I've read so many of the same books over and over again to Willa that I certainly have gained my favorites and even some that I loathe. I thought this would be a good place to write down books that we like for children so that others can benefit. We now check out about 10 books from the library each week so that we have new material to read, so I've gone through a lot of books! I love the 'dinosaur' series of books by Jane Yolen. It's about how a dinosaur does things like eat their food, play with their friends etc. check out on of the samples on Amazon. I've recently discovered Flotsam by David Weisner. There are no words, just a story in pictures of a boy who discovers an old camera washed up the shore a beach. It's awesome! I checked out the rest of his books from the library (they had Tuesday and Three Little Pigs). Very, very good. They are a bit over the head of my nearly 3 year old. I bet a 5 year old would LOVE them. I'll keep adding more as time goes on!nondisclosed_email@example.com (TexasMadness)Tue, 19 Feb 2013 03:05:21 +0000
