Homemade present pledge 2013
I don't usually do new year's resolutions that are hard, achievable goals. They are usually more amorphous things like "play more with the family" or "eat better". But this year I made one that I can keep track of and ensure that I reach.
At Christmas, we exchange small gifts (stocking stuffers) with everyone in the family...and they all had to be homemade. Everyone made 11 of the same thing and then put them in the bags for each person. Some people made cookies or candy while others went crazy and made kitchen knives (my brother, the over achiever!). It was so much fun that we plan to do it next year. In the meantime, everyone has a birthday coming up...
I made the pledge to do all homemade gifts for everyone in my immediate family this year. I'll keep track of them in this post and make a separate entry for each gift!
Fabric dollhouse for my neice
Cloth kitchen items for my sister-in-law

Re: Homemade present pledge 2013
I love that idea! I bet it takes more time and work to do this, but it's much more fun than running out and just getting something.
Great resolution!

Re: Homemade present pledge 2013
I'm a terrible gift shopper. I can go from place to place and never decide what to get a person. But I've already come up with half of the gifts I'm going to make this year. Buying the materials for those gifts is a different kind of shopping - I know just what I want so I can get in and out. Random, "let me find something cool" shopping is my nightmare!
So I think that in the end, I might save a bit of time. If not time, I will certainly save stress!!!
Plus this is going to encourage me to learn new skills of try things out that I've been meaning to do but have never set aside the time. I'm looking forward to it all!

Very cool idea. Wish I were creative enough to do something of that nature. It will be interesting to follow your adventure here!!

Re: Homemade present pledge 2013
I haven't updated in awhile! I've been keeping this up!
For my brother, we did a home improvement project and made him some new back steps. I need to find my pictures of that.
And for a friend's son, I made these Slotted Building Discs. Super easy and he loved them!

Love the discs!! My granddaughter would like those, but maybe when she's a bit older. She's at the stage of putting everything in her mouth.....such fun!!! lol
