Re: November Chinwag!

The chimney sweep came today and opened up the flue... I have never seen such a badly blocked flue - neither had the sweep.. it took a while to clean it, and with examination of the removed creosote signified that the chimney had been afire twice before, and had not been cleaned after either blaze.. What this means to me is that the chimney needs work before I can install a stove - $1600 worth of work.

The tractors I happily bought last year are a weight I hope to remove - one, the small Kioti sold on Ebay for the amount owed, so that debt is clear and the liability of trying to move the tractor went away. We have one more, the larger one that I really like - we owe more on that one so will sell it with all the implements I bought. hopefully that will sell and clear that debt too.

We have other things to sell too so hopefully we can get enough to fix the chimney and buy the cook stove.

Even though this house has more things that need fixing than the other houses we have bought, we still like this one more - it just feels like we belong here. Hopefully we are not mistaken. emoticon

Re: November Chinwag!

That sounds like a lot to organize. Best of luck on the sales!

I'm allowed to live without the sling when I'm at home and awake. Progress. Aches are not in the collarbone - although I had a couple of twinges when I told it to heal quickly yesterday - they are deep in the shoulder. I still suspect bruises. I'm telling them to dissolve gently and easily.

I went for a walk and did some grocery shopping yesterday. Lugging home the loot wasn't easy, but I managed (didn't really buy much).

Today we have rain and stormy weather, so I'm staying inside being lazy.

In different news, I applied for an interview spot in an author event on FB, and it looks good. Confirmation later today. Wish me luck!

Re: November Chinwag!

Things keep getting better.

I'm even allowed to type with both hands now - no strain on the collarbone, but some on other muscles in the shoulder. They need the exercise!

More PT today, and a doctors visit. I would like to continue sick leave until next Wednesday, and then slip back into work with a mini week. I think he'll be amendable to that.

Getting enough sleep is still tricky, as I wear that harness at night. The restriction is harder and harder to accept ... but I still tell myself I do not want to do any harm. I actually went on a walk without it yesterday, and it felt sooo good.

Hope you're all okay, just busy. Missing you guys, especially Saijen.

GOOD FRIDAY MY FRIENDS!

Well right now it looks beautiful outside. Skies are really blue. Probably because it's only 27 degrees. Slight breeze is telling me that rain/snow storm is slowing coming in. Going to be here tonight and into tomorrow.
Luckily we have nothing going on tomorrow except to install a new bathroom vent fan and clean. I'm sure something will come up. But for today....kind of a quiet day. Hope you all have a wonderful day. Will NOT be back online until TUESDAY, as I have to take Mom and Dad to Boise to see if those lower lumbar shots will help Dad's pain. And it's going to be an all day affair...SO...SEE YOU ALL ON TUESDAY.

Firle...so glad you are having more and more freedom. We just never realize the way we take our bodies for granted until we can't use a part of it! emoticon

muladzh...good luck with the sales and getting enough for the chimney fix. Hopefully before Winter sets in.

Re: November Chinwag!

Quickly checking in! I've been away from a computer for the most part this last week or so. I haven't had time to read up on everyone's doings - just wanted to swing through on my way out of the office to let you guys know I'm still kicking!

Hope everyone is doing well and I should have some time next week to really chat. Our big annual report was due today at work so no goofing off for me!

Re: November Chinwag!

Glad you got your report out of the way!

Shoulder is giving me more problems. Achy and the part of the wire that protrudes out of the bone near the breast bone is starting to really annoy me. Hope I don't really have to wait for half a year to get rid of it - or that my body just gets used to it and adjusts for as long as it needs to be in there.

Muscles really ache and complain. More PT next week, fortunately.

Later today, I'll visit a friend and talk about EFT - she's organizing a healer circle. Last time it went on for four hours ... but today, I'll leave when my body says it's enough. Not a long walk there, so I'll be fine.

Re: November Chinwag!

today we rescued an unwanted three year old English Bull Terrier - he is a very sensitive guy, with a lot of fear in him, weighs about 70 pounds, built like a barrel and very intelligent for a dog. He figures things out and operates on the result, making him rather hard to contain, but he howls when alone, but is a completely 'outside' dog - not house broken at all, has total panic attacks if pulled towards the house, so we have to have the little guy outside, in a brand new igloo box, on a thirty five foot line he can run along. I don't much like that way of containing a dog, but we tried just having him in the separate garden, behind a fence, but the little sod worked out how to get the bottom of the fence loose. So, until the month end, he has to be tied onto a run line. We will get him a large pen, with no way out, at the end of the month, so he will be have better shelter. Eventually we hope to train him to be able to come inside..

I will take a picture in daylight and post it..

Poor doggie! Hope he'll come to trust you and live with you in the house, eventually.

So glad you rescued him.

Re: November Chinwag!

He nearly hung himself on the run wire, so he has to be loose, or contained in a travel box. So far he has not tried to get out of the property chain link fence, so maybe he will work out. His howling is annoying, as is his barking when he feels threatened by butterflies or passing squirrels. Somebody has been very cruel with this animal - currently he runs when he sees me, as I had to use effort to get him out of the travel box, to feed him. This has made me an enemy for a while. We will continue to work with the little guy and hope he will stay around - we cannot contain him in the travel box all the time - that would be cruel, so if he chooses to get under over or through the chain link there is very little we can do about it. hopefully he will hang around long enough to get over his fears.

Re: November Chinwag!

Hey folks, catching up on posts here still.

Firle, sounds like you are making progress with the collar bone, be it slower than you probably want! Weird that the wire is bothering you. Kinda makes me shudder thinking about it. emoticon

muladzh, I hope the dog works out. Sometimes it can be pretty quick with the proper treatment for a dog to become settled. Other times I fear they have been too traumatized. Time will tell.

We are super busy these days and gearing up for a week vacation. Going to see my mom's family in Salt Lake City, UT. It's been years since we've seen them - they didn't even come to my wedding. We aren't particularly close to most of them but my grandmother and aunt are good people and we will be visiting with them the most. Hopefully no family silliness happens...

Otherwise, work, farm and kids!
