What are you doing to stay connected?
I'm talking about energy and your inner sense of who you are. How do you reconnect to that? Are you doing it every day?
I like to have a candle going, for example, and gazing into its light. Or I touch trees when I'm outside. And a daily meditation is also a wonderful thing.
What do you do?

Re: What are you doing to stay connected?
I meditate daily. I start with breathing and connecting back and back to the breath. Then I add my mantra. I usually emerge feeling much better and at peace.

Re: What are you doing to stay connected?
I like that.
Would you mind sharing a typical mantra that you use?
For now, I use guided meditations.

Re: What are you doing to stay connected?
I speak with all the spirits around me, cajoling the shy one, chatting with the friendly ones.
I spend time with animals, talking to them, and often with them.
My life is one of constant connection, so things connect with me; I could not disconnect if I tried.
The only Mantra that I use, are very old, focusing specifics, to do particular things. I use them all of the time, to set macros into operation.
Meditation.. I don't think I do any form of thought other than meditation - Everything I say is from a centre I am focused on, which I believe is the purpose folk use meditation. I spend a good 80% of my time within that centre.
I often work with stressed out people, and am amazed that folk very rarely focus on a calm centre - they live their entire lives crashing from one stress to another. I do not understand how they manage.

Re: What are you doing to stay connected?
Muladzh, I love your ways of connecting. It can see how these would be rare nowadays, though.
People in towns have a hard time connecting to nature, and the noise probably prevents talking to spirits.
Could you recommend a simple exercise to start being more connected?

Re: What are you doing to stay connected?
before doing anything, focus at something that is particularly you. Deep inside, focus and just let you flow through. Then using that as a focal point, address everything in you life through that point - it will give you distance with which to assess thoughts, and let you see everything from a remote sensibility. Nothing will be able to create stress, everything will look different, and you can be boringly unstressed as I am. You will annoy folk, as I do, will make people copy you, as I do, and not have much time to mope. This last one you do far too often, girl..

Re: What are you doing to stay connected?
I'm getting better!
I'm moving from moping to feeling overwhelmed.
I believe that's improvement.
It sounds doable, especially as I meditate regularly anyway now. It should be easy to adapt this method, it sounds a bit as if bringing the center found in meditation into every day life.
Did I get that about right?

Re: What are you doing to stay connected?
Not being someone who meditates, per say, I cannot tell if the way I use is the same as other people use to meditate - common sense suggests it may well be, and as such would make life easier, keeping ones' centre centred.

Re: What are you doing to stay connected?
I actually meditate more now than I used to, in order to cope with some of the things going on.
We love candles and incense here, so we go through a lot of that type thing, which just helps me. I either focus on candle flame, or the smoke from the incense, and tend to basically 'zone out'. I can be in the middle of chaos in my living room, and not hear a thing if I am focused enough. Without this coping mechanism, I would be a lot more lost than it appears I already am (some of you understand what I'm talking about).
I feel spirits around me all the time, so converse with those who enjoy conversing. My father comes now and then, and we tend to get goofy. I'd much prefer him in the flesh, but I'm happy to have him in any form.
Before Christmas, my DH and I had decided to do a real tree, so, rather than going to purchase one, we walked the property where we live to see if we could find a suitable Cedar. Since Cedars are so prolific here, the landlord tends to cut many of them down, as they would otherwise take over. It was really nice, albeit cold, traipsing through the wooded areas looking for the perfect tree. Not as easy a task as we'd thought, but just being out in the woods, taking in the scents, being among the trees made my heart light. I wandered slowly on the level areas, not paying much attention to anything but the beauty around me. I do live in a gorgeous place, and it can be very soothing to my soul when I'm able to get out there!

Re: What are you doing to stay connected?
We have been walking the woods of the Cabin this last while - it is great up there, just wandering around. Does wonderfully to recharge the inner self.
