I'm glad I have a park nearby with friendly old trees. I go there after work, and it feels good to talk to them and just breathe.

it is too darn cold here to go walk anywhere - went to Johnson City to the Earth Fare store, and just going from the car to the door was cold enough to make breathing hurt.

[sign in to see URL] too cold!! We broke a record low last night here in Rogersville. Got ice on the outside AND inside of some of my windows. The storm doors were totally covered in [sign in to see URL] and out. This morning, I was still up when my son-in-law left for work around 4:30, and I had to use my blow dryer to unfreeze the lock on the back door knob, just to unlock the door so he could get out the door! If worse had come to worse, he could have gone out the front door, since it's more protected from the elements with a roof. Still too cold for my taste!!!!

Yikes, hair dryer to to open the door. I thought that it was cold in the house on the hill. We had ice on the bedroom storm windows, but the doors opened easy enough. It was about 2˚ at five this morning. Way too cold.

Hope that cold is moving out today.

Here it's another gray, rainy day. It was so warm I opened my jacket on my way to work. And then I had to close it again because it started raining.

I'd like some sunshine this afternoon, dear universe, because I want to shoot video.

Muladzh, I think we actually managed to get below 0 the other night, but just barely. Actual temp, not wind chill. With absolutely no insulation in the walls of this house, it's no wonder the lock froze. The front door is the only one protected from the elements, so that was why it didn't freeze, but it's a pain to have to go all the way around the house if you can help it. I think one reason it gets so darn cold is our proximity to the river. Thankfully, it's warmed up enough that the windows and doors have thawed, but still too chilly for my tastes.

I'd love a good walk in some warmer [sign in to see URL] air, and to be surrounded by the woods.

I walked through the park yesterday. Lots of mud. People here are being warned of hazel pollen - it's been that warm. Haven't seen any hazel even try to put out flowers, but I don't live in the warm corners of Germany.

When I sat down for my meditation this morning, I admire the deep green color of my orchids and the amaryllis that has just started to put out leaves again.

Love having my plants at home. And I keep greeting the chestnut trees in the park.

Re: What are you doing to stay connected?

I need to spend some time grooming my indoor plants. My daughter watered them for me the other day. I usually groom as I water, but having this head cold and stomach virus, not had the desire to stand that long!
That's something that can also help keep us connected, is grooming our plants. Having our hands in the dirt to get out any fallen dead leaves, pulling dead/dying leaves off so nutrients can get to the living, instead of being taken up by what has already passed. If you don't keep that dead stuff off, no matter what else you do, your plant suffers. They thrive and love to have the old dead stuff removed. It's like a dog that's [sign in to see URL] love when you comb them and get the old fur out of the current and new. [sign in to see URL]'s a lot like US! As we bathe, we get old dead skin cells off, making us feel better, cleaner and healthier. Plants deserve the same considerations emoticon

I'm glad you have your plants, [sign in to see URL] a park close enough to you that you can enjoy walking there, and talking with the trees. I have one tree in my yard that loves to [sign in to see URL]'s my big maple. The others aren't as [sign in to see URL]
