What do you like about the Winter season?

For me, it's the snow - I love snow, frost and sunshine. And memories of skiing through the woods and across fields.

It's a time of warm fires and tea, of reading and idle talk. Love that.

I don't have nearly the experience of snow as you guys do!

I do love sitting by the fire and having a hot drink (cocoa, tea, coffee, whatever!).

I also love winter vegetables. For us, that means broccoli, kale, cabbage, turnips, carrots and more. I do dislike freezing my fingers harvesting sometimes but it's so worth it!

This might be silly, but I also love the way our cat Blue feels in the winter. She's a shorthair who spends most of her time outside so she puts on weight (she's normally bony) and gets such thick fur. I love to pick her up when she comes inside. My face may be overheated from the fire so I grab her and rub her cool fur all over my cheeks!

TM, rubbing your cat's fur over your face sounds magical! Does she like it?

Oh TM...I used to have one long hair cat, Chance...that was my "flower child" cause she loved everyone. But she really love me to rub my face in her belly...like how you make a kid giggle...she also loved to be vacuumed! emoticon

Blue loves any attention! She loves the sit half on the back of the couch, half on your shoulder and rub on your face. She also loves to lick and will do so until you stop her. Her favorite spot is your forehead. So she is a very 'face-oriented' cat.

I thought of another great winter thing this morning. Little kids in footie jammies. Nothing cuter! emoticon

Heh, it doesn't have to be winter for kids to wear footie jammies here! My nephews did it almost all the time.

hmmmm... winter tests me, especially this year! (sooo cold). But I love cross country skiing through the woods, the quiet outside, a woodstove fire. I love snuggling with my cats in the winter, too.

Blue is a lynx point with bright blue eyes. She was a stray with a collar and microchipped so we thought for sure her owner would claim her. So we just called her "blue kitty" but after weeks of signs (the microchip was a dead end), she became ours and the name had stuck! Here she is sleeping with Mexia...in our usual sleepwear. No footie jammies in the summer here!

And man, that was a chubby period for her! She gets so lanky sometimes.

Mexia or Blue? emoticon

Cute picture. Love how blue exactly copies Mexia's posture.
