Imbolc/Candlemass

Seems every year I start thinking about Sabbats around Imbolc. It's the one I have the least connection to - it's themes don't fit with my environment, etc. But there is something about it that gets me thinking. Perhaps it's because New Year's follows too closely on the heels of the holiday season and I haven't been able to breathe let alone think of the year to come. By Imbolc, I've relaxed and am ready for the new year. Plus my birthday is right around then too, so it does feel like a new year.

Anyway, I read this article and was pleased that he has a similar "too warm to be winter" experience. He does still buy into the milk part - everyone I know lambs/kids in March or April. Even in England I thought that's when it happened! I do honestly think there is something missing with our modern interpretation of the milk aspect of this time of year.

Anywho, here's the article:

Maybe I will finally plan something this year...

I like some of the suggestions like blessing the candles and using this time to cleanse tools and such, and bless them, or re-energize them.

We (meaning me) don't really think about the negative aspects of when the weather doesn't do as it usually does at any given point in time, while we're complaining about it. (I complain a LOT about Winter and [sign in to see URL]). I guess I need to stop and realize that if I had my way, it sure wouldn't be good for things in this part of the world!!!!!

It was an easy blog to [sign in to see URL] it! Thank you for sharing this!!!
