Re: March Madness Mayhem Chatting

I have to agree that the Scions are all pretty ugly. And yeah, you're an oddball, but a LOVEABLE oddball! emoticon If you weren't an oddball, I'm not sure we'd be friends. emoticon

I have no place to keep a cart right now, so I'll have to wait and hope one of the area Big Lots has some when I get ready for one.

There is a countertop stove (drop in) in the new house, too, that I'll have to use for now, until we can get my glass top a place to go. Once we get my range situated, I want to get some butcher block and build a cutting board that will sit over the drop in. That would give us more counter space, and a nice area for cutting things, then, if we needed the additional eyes, move the cutting board, and viola`, I have 4 more eyes to cook on.

If we don't hear anything on the mortgage by Thursday, I'll call our loan person Friday morning. It's only been a week, and I know it takes a bit sometimes.

I hope the rest of you have had a good day yesterday, and so far today!!

Here...not done much of anything today but sit on my rear. It's snowing, so that explains some of the additional pain I've been having the last couple of days/nights. I managed to crawl into bed around 2am this morning and slept till almost 11. I did wake up a time or 2, but was able to go right back to sleep. I feel more rested than I have in a while. You'd think I'd be used to this annoying ankle/foot pain by now, but this is bad enough to make me want to pull my hair out sometimes. I can see, now, why some people commit suicide due to pain. You just want it to stop, and if the only way to get any peace is to die, then they do whatever it takes. I wouldn't do that, simply because that's not the kind of person I am, but I can certainly understand more now. I'm not sure what it is about this particular pain that is more irritating than what I am used to. It's just weird. Oh well....it's there, and I'll keep dealing with it for as long as I have to, or until the pain goes away. I've thought about asking the podiatrist if it's possible to do a nerve ablation on the nerve there. If it is, and I'm a candidate, I may have them do that so that I don't end up loonier than I already am. I'm not sure what all would go numb, but I'd rather deal with numb than what's going on now.

Muladzh, I'm with you on moving easier when the weather is warmer. However, the intense heat of summer is just as bad as the cold dampness of winter for me. It's the extremes that get me. That's one of the reasons why Spring and Fall are my favorite seasons.

Pretty soon, gotta hit the shower and get ready for a darned council meeting...unless it gets called off. I am really not in the mood right now to deal with these people. Still need a shower....LOL

Re: March Madness Mayhem Chatting

Let me know if you want me to pick one up for you, and store it until you are ready - big lots often runs out of things, and doesn't get them back again.

The first day of the plumbers is over. About half of the work is done, one bathroom finished, on bathroom uncovered a horrendous secret - the floor is completely rotten around the toilet - the flange was cracked, and the toilet had been leaking into the floor, so that is still a mess, not even started doing the work we wanted - tomorrow they will rip up the floor, then replace it, refit the hardy-backer for when we want to put tiles down - in the next couple of weeks probably.

They have fitted the filters but not connected them yet - so tomorrow will be a busy day again. Luckily they are great guys so having them around is not too much of a painful experience.

Unfortunately one of them, the youngest, smoked and stank. Even though asked not to smoke on the property, he did a couple of times, until the boss noticed.. We do not like the smell of smoke, it gives me a headache after a while, and we don't want smoky people in the house. Because he smoked the house stinks of him. Very unpleasant. Anyway, it should be all done tomorrow, I will have paid a bunch of money, and things will get to a level of normalcy that we can enjoy until the electrical work gets phase two started. That should not take more than one day.

We are both tired, and just want to sit in peace, until bed time.. At least they got one bathroom finished. emoticon pity it wasn't the one in our room.

Having a bathroom is very important. Glad they got one fixed.

The other is a bummer. At least you found it before an accident happened.

Sorry about the smoker. That's horrible. I hate it when smokers are in my apartment, even if they only smoke outside. Fortunately, I only have non-smoking friends.

Getting excited about a story I'm writing. Got feedback from a friend, and I'm aiming at a complete rewrite. And since I'm doing that, I decided I might as well do it in English, rather than German. So, new story and series ahead!

I'm starting to worry about money, and that's never good. Just one more client would make a huge difference, two would solve everything but... somehow I can't seem to be able to attract them.

On the other hand, the weather is good, some sun, some rain, and spring is progressing nicely.

Re: March Madness Mayhem Chatting

Muladzh, sounds like things are progressing in a good way. My son-in-law smokes outside, but I HATE when he comes in. His jackets stink, and the smell follows him in. Maybe it won't be so bad once jackets aren't needed anymore. Everyone seems to love 'parking' their jackets on the backs of the chairs around the table...so, when we sit down to eat....we get to smell stale cigarette smoke! I am allergic to cigarette smoke if I'm around it directly....just seriously hate the after smell, so I can identify with your irritation!

Firle, good luck with your new story and series!! Can you give us a hint what it's about????

Well, I am fully OUT of the Arts Council Treasury! I gave the last bit over last night in the monthly meeting. I will maintain my position as House Manager/Box office Manager. I'm not sure if it will still be considered an executive position, since I am no longer paying the bills, paying directors....etc, and such. Hopefully, this will ease up some of my stress.

We had snow yesterday....was NOT fun driving into town to my meeting last night. Visibility was extremely low.

Today....DH and I went to get the key from the current owner....let the Health Dept. guy in to get a sterile sample of water to test for us. From there, we came back to Rogersville so I could give a sock monkey to someone (long story). Then....went to the new Sagebrush Steak House here in town for lunch. Was pretty good. Then, to Big Lots to roam a bit.....we didn't want to come home yet, so we drove to a small town just to the East of us to a place that sells rugs and some other stuff....to see if they had anything we could afford or liked for the bedroom floors. They had some gorgeous rugs....but not something we could really afford right now. Oh well. From the rug store, we went to Lowe's and looked around a bit.....then headed home. So...a day of just roaming, for the most part. At least there was no snow today!!!!

Saijen: YAY for being out of the Tresury! That was such a pain for you, I'm so happy you could let that go. Glad you'll still be connected to the theatre, though, you were having so much fun with that. Good move!

Also congratulations for getting keys. That's a huge step! May everything go well for you with the house. And may you find just perfect rugs at the perfect price.

I made a tough decision yesterday. But after looking at ticket prices I knew I had to cancel my flights to Orlando and the award ceremony. And with that came a huge feeling of relief - all the marketing that I had planned for that event was way over my head. I need to learn to walk before I do this!

I will still get the medals and have the awards, so that's okay. I just won't have pics of me getting them.

On the other hand, I will have enough time to really focus on my webinar and the Short Story Workshop with is supposed to earn me enough money to pay for continued coaching. That's more important and where I need to go.

The short story and new series will feature some young centaurs and their adventures in a fantasy world. It's part coming of age, part quest and part love story.

In other good news, I talked some more with an Austrian author, and it looks as if we're all set to become a great coaching team for indie authors in the German-speaking area. Nobody else even grasps the promise of ebooks and self-publishing here. We agree on so many things (plus he loves horses!) that it only makes sense to team up. Love the opportunities that are opening up.

Hugs to all, especially Muladzh (because of bathroom woes)!

HI DI HO EVERYONE!

Well, finally got the seat belt warning light fixed on the car. No charge, covered. Still will have to go in for the air bag recall. But not till the corporation decides what they are going to do and sends the dealers the parts! LOL Meanwhile, Mom and I went out shopping. Found two shirts at the second hand store, picked up cat food at the pet store and then had a cup of tea with Mom and Dad. Finally can come online, and get some work done....

SAIJEN....

(we have a Samsung French door with freezer on bottom)

Well.....guess which one we have. Yep, same one. I'll pass along that info from your post to hubby! emoticon
It has been crazy! I'm so glad you are out of the treasury...that headache you did not need!

FIRLE....your on the move too. Busy, busy, busy. I don't blame you for canceling the flight....Orlando is one expensive place to have to go to.

Oh that is just awesome! emoticon

MULADZH...I'm glad the plumbers are finally getting things done and hopefully there won't be a problem with the electrical inspector.

Re: March Madness Mayhem Chatting

Well, the only really expensive part about Orlando were the flights. I had an offer to stay with a fellow member of my coaching class, which really helped. But ~800 Euro for the trip alone ... *shudders* Should have booked flights in January, when they were still 400 Euro.

Now I won't have a handy excuse to order from Holy Clothing, either. emoticon

Working on the centaur short story and a brand new non-fiction ebook idea (which has low priority but it lots of fun!) called "The Daily Writer - Write your Book in Small Windows of Time". I'm in the brainstorming phase for that and really enjoying it.

And this weekend I plan to learn the ins and outs of Webinar Jam, which is a system to turn Google Hangouts into fully supported Webinars. I got in early and bought life-time membership. emoticon

It is warmer today, with a light rain falling. No workers today, and the electrical inspector failed to arrive yesterday. We had to stay in anyway, for the plumbers, so that was not too annoying. If he calls and tells us that he will arrive another day, giving us not ETA, we will not be pleased.

GOOD FRIDAY MY FRIENDS!

WHEW! It's Friday, and I actually have NOTHING I have to do, cept a bit of laundry! LOL Last night we had a thunder storm roll through, just before dinner. So I went and sat outside under my new PATIO cover! emoticon It was awesome listening to the thunder, then the rain. To bad it was freaking COLD....I could only stay out about 15 minutes. BUT, I'm going to love that cover....
Going to be a busy weekend, but a joyous one. We get to visit with a dear friend of the family on Sunday! (GRINNING FROM EAR TO EAR)...Saturday, depends on the weather. But hubby and I want to make our side yard into a gravel driveway so we can park the RV there. Saving us $100.00 a month at the storage place. But that is going to be a ton of work. Rent a sod cutter, take out all the grass, remove all the roses and lilacs, (Transplanting all I can). Then remove the sprinkler system in there. Rolling it all solid. Then edging it with 8 X 8's....then having a huge dump truck bring gravel. And getting the gravel all evenly in the driveway. I'm thinking we will be working on this at least 2 maybe 3 weekends. And oh boy are we going to hurt....LOL ANYWHO....that is my day today and this weekend!

MULADZH...the folks around there are not to prompt, for business people! emoticon Ours here can be up to 30 minutes late. But if they can not totally show up. They call at least 2 days before, to reschedule. Kind of rude how your area works...Hope things go better.

FIRLE...

Now I won't have a handy excuse to order from Holy Clothing, either.

And why not? You sill have a business, still have clients to meet. I don't see why you can't have something nice for yourself. emoticon
