April Springtime Chatter and Gossip

The month with the annoying first day.

I have never been a fan of April Fool's Day, Why anyone thinks it is a good idea to try fooling somebody I do not know. I have on three occasions had some fool do this, and on each occasion, the person has been less than happy with the result. I will go around today, avoiding people - In Britain, it only works until mid-day, but here, I have seen it last until the next day.

Other than that, Have a good April First, Guys..

Re: April Springtime Chatter and Gossip

Queeny: So glad you had a good time with your old friend! That's wonderful!

Muladzh: I hope your bathroom woes are nearing the end. I like the idea of a bamboo floor, that must be very nice and clean.

I don't particularly like April Fool pranks, either. Usually, newspapers here will offer some outrageous articles which are good fun and harmless - I can get behind that. Haven't found any really good ones so far, though.

I'm quite proud of myself: I already wrote tomorrow's blogpost and prepared the newsletter. It's an important newsletter because I want to offer special coaching packages to my German list (like some of you know, I need to earn some money fast, to pay for more coaching). I fact, I can only take three clients ... I do hope that from about 110 recipients some would be interested.

And since I'm meeting with a writer tomorrow, I need to have everything prepared so the newsletter can go out at the usual time. I'm surprising myself with being so structured.

"The Daily Writer" is growing nicely, in 30 min bouts. I can see this ebook growing into something really useful for busy people who still want to finish a book. (And yes, coaching with me will be seeded in the ebook, of course.)

The centaur story is not growing quite as fast, I find it hard to really put myself into the story so I can write it intensely. Too many worries (tap tap tap).

Weather is foggy, third day in a row. Yesterday it finally cleared up in the late afternoon ... that is a little depressing in an area where wind usually prevails and blows the fog away.

Re: April Springtime Chatter and Gossip

Today turned out to be a sunny day, with light breeze. The temperature is climbing nicely and birds are chirping happily.

I poked my snout out of the door to be greeted by warmth - that cheered me up no end.

FedEx arrived very early, delivering some wood chips for the barbecue, which are supposed to impart a delicious smoke flavour. We shall see.

Froggy is doing the wash, and will be hanging the clothes outside, not on the ceiling rack in the new kitchen - we no longer have an automatic washing machine or a drier, and our clothes are cleaner and smell much better.

Later we are going to the Credit Union in Johnson City, to pick up cash for the next phase in the plumbing saga.

I just used email to organise insurance for the pick-up. That is a first, hopefully it works. I need to get the transmission serviced, it is leaking a bit, and I need to change the fluids in the rest of it. Four new tyres are needed, the spare is ok, but the others are worn out. Hopefully I can find tyres at a good price in Rogersville - I don't want to go long distance in this truck - a gas engine will not get good mileage.

GOOD TUESDAY MY FRIENDS!
Over cast and expecting rain most of the day. Chilly but not below freezing. Which is good. Lilacs are budded, Peony's up about 2 feet, Tulips, crocus, hyacinth are all up. Still need to finish the AC cover thing we build with some silicone caulking, but need to wait till we won't have rain for a 24 hours. So today, not sure what I'm going to get [sign in to see URL] trouble!

FIRLE....wow, you are off and running this new Month! I so hope you get at least a few clients.... emoticon

MULADZH....hope you get the truck all fixed up without to much bother. I love that [sign in to see URL] Spring air. Wakes up the soul, and stirs the spirit...
That is why my graphic today is my IRIS from last [sign in to see URL] I love the saying. emoticon

Re: April Springtime Chatter and Gossip

Hi [sign in to see URL] about not putting in an appearance for the last couple of days. Not been online at all.

Muladzh, good on the new [sign in to see URL], new to you! And sounds like all the work is going fairly well at the house.
I do love that we don't have to pay for garbage haul-off! And thankfully, we still won't have to pay for water, either! Unless the water sample comes back in really bad shape...(still not heard from the heatlh dept. on that).

Firle, I'm sorry that you felt you needed to cancel your Florida trip, but I understand. Some airline tickets are just ridiculously expensive! Hotels aren't much better. At least you're OK with your decision, so that helps, I'm sure.

Queeny, good on getting the airbag light fixed. And all the other stuff you've been into!!!

The whole thing with the [sign in to see URL] honestly feel like I was set up to either take it all back, or give up the bit I still had. The lady who was given the Treasury knows I could not handle doing the reports, so she basically 'resigned' as Treasurer (she was sitting across from me), looked at me and told me I was welcome to it all, again, that she felt we'd be in a mess if we re-wrote the By-Laws (they have to be approved by the state, and the rest of the board that bothered to show up, was afraid we'd end up with a mess),and the By-Laws stated that it was the Treasurer's job to write checks, make deposits and write the monthly and annual reports. We had split that job. [sign in to see URL] board member flat out said "If I had to pick between B (me) and J (the other lady), I'd pick J, since B doesn't seem to know what she's doing". After that kind of statement, what was I supposed to do??? [sign in to see URL] again, I was the one who had to give up something. I am now waiting to see how long it takes before they start trying to tell me how my other position has to be done. If/when that happens, they'll get the whole mess thrown at them, and told what they can do with it all. In the mean-time, I will try to keep going as if nothing has happened. While it may have taken some of the stress off in one way, it's only added more in another. [sign in to see URL] may be looking for a different venue to put my time [sign in to see URL] that actually appreciates what I can do and am willing to do. Sorry, I'm just tired of feeling like I'm just not quite 'good enough'. I got enough of that with my ex husband, and had thought I had truly found my place with the theatre, but lately, I'm feeling like I've outstayed my welcome or something.
I met with the new Treasurer yesterday to go over some things with her that HAVE to be done by a specific time (IRS and STATE type things), and to give her some other info she'd need, and we had a good meeting and such. Sad thing is, I really like this lady, but at the same time, I feel like the rest of the board is pitting us against each other, and I hate it.

[sign in to see URL] about this mess.

Got a lot going on elsewhere. Had a mess with the survey stuff. I had already typed it all [sign in to see URL] it went POOF (sometimes I HATE this computer!!!). The survey was supposed to be yesterday, but didn't get done, as the dude didn't want to mess with it. Said the closing attorney could write up what both the sellers and us agreed [sign in to see URL] DH talked to the attorney today, and he said the surveyor had to write it up. [sign in to see URL] DH and I got to really looking at the papers he got from the courthouse (Tax assessment and deed/plot), the 2 don't match. Tax paper says 1 [sign in to see URL] says [sign in to see URL] acres (almost an acre and a half!). [sign in to see URL] need the place surveyed, regardless. We had to get that reset, so that's Friday morning at 8:45.

My week is NUTS!! Podiatry appt. tomorrow at 3. Thursday need to get stuff done here. Friday, I may go to the survey, then I have to help get tables set at the theatre for a dinner on Sunday. Saturday, gotta get up EARLY, get Keira to her other grandparent's house, then my daughter and I will spend the day as vendors at an outdoor craft show in a park in Morristown. Then, Sunday, I have to be at the local big Baptist church by 12:30-1pm to set up to sell tickets to [sign in to see URL]., then we're hosting dinner afterwards at the theatre. After the dinner, we have to get everything cleaned up by 7pm, because auditions for "Death Of A Salesman" start at 7. One heck of a busy, busy rest of the week!!! I hope we do well on Saturday, to make it worth our while having to get up so friggin early!

Firle, you were saying something about us getting the [sign in to see URL] was only for a few [sign in to see URL] enough to unlock the door for the Health Dept. guy, then we had to take it right back. The lady had to take her mom to the dr. or she would have come to let us in. Guess she figures it's pretty much our house now, and we've not stolen anything that was left there [sign in to see URL].

They had some beautiful antique furniture stored in the house. We asked if they would be willing to part with a gorgeous [sign in to see URL] thankfully they are. They are willing to sell us this bedstead, and a beautiful drop leaf table for $100!!! The table will stay where it's at in the finished area of the basement, but I'll put a vinyl table cloth on it, as DD and I will use that table for crafting and such. I'm thinking there may be something wrong with the table, to let it go for $[sign in to see URL] again, maybe not. Just have to see. Some of the stuff, she's not sure where she's going to store [sign in to see URL] DH told her that anything she would like to keep, but doesn't have a place for it at the moment, she's welcome to store it there at the house until she can figure out what she wants to do with it. It's not like we won't have the room. Things like her great granny's rocking chair and some other things of that nature. Nothing huge, and not a whole lot of stuff.

[sign in to see URL] I've rambled more than enough. You all have a wonderful [sign in to see URL] hopefully I will be able to get in here some over the next several days. I know I won't be here at all on Saturday, and most likely not on Sunday either.

Muladzh: Yay for the truck and getting it all registered. Hope you found tyres for it. emoticon

Queeny: Yay for flowers! Were they in the ground when you bought the house?

Saijen: Woah. Looks as if the theatre board people are making a mess of everything. And that man's comment about you? Despicable. Glad you decided to give up the Treasurer position - it has brought you a lot of grief. Hopefully, you can work something out with J. No need for both of you to get caught up in the drama.

As for me, I had a wonderful session with my TAT coach (part of my coaching class). We worked on me really taking a hold of my business, so I can actually build it. Funny enough, at the end I saw my business as a plushy, orange-yellow cube, utterly adorable, loving and lovable. We hugged ... I feel so happy about having my business now!

Other than that, however, I didn't manage a whole lot of work after learing of my foster father's death. I decided to go to bed early, but woke up in the middle of the night and just couldn't go back to sleep. Wasn't even thinking a lot, just lying there, enjoying my bed - and no sleep. *shrugs*

This morning, I finished the newsletter, offering special coaching to the list. It'll go out early my afternoon. Hoping for three takers!

And for lunch, I'm meeting a fantasy writer. We just want to talk writing - not a whole lot of that in Kiel. Maybe I'll create a MeetUp group with monthly meetings. I do need more people in my life, so that might be one way of getting there.

Times are still good! emoticon

Saijen, sounds like somebody doesn't like you.. Walk away, let them sink together.

Today is another lovely day, got things to do, haven't done anything with the truck yet, need to see what needs fixing, and where to take it. Nothing is a rush any more, just whenever..

Today, I need get more cash out of the bank, for the next plumbing phase, then the new kitchen needs sorting out - it has too much junk in it right now, so we will put the junk in an orderly mess in the box van/workshop. When we get the shelves and counters sorted out, it will look more like a kitchen, and less like a junk room. emoticon

GOOD WEDNESDAY MY FRIENDS!

Raining again. Boy when this stops and it warms up, I'll have to dig the lawn mower out! LOL Need to empty, clean and refill the litter boxes today. I'm still waiting on the Payette Partners Rescue Ranch, Inc, lady to get back to me. I offered her that almost new 10 foot umbrella we bought last Summer, as a donation. Hopefully, she will get back to me. Need to call Mom, see if she has anything that is worth donating, because the Ontario Feral Cat Project is accepting donations for their annual yard sale next [sign in to see URL] than that. Not much going on today. Have a doctors appointment tomorrow. MUST do something about these lungs and get something stronger for my back, or Mom and Dad are going to stop asking for help! That would not be [sign in to see URL] doc and I are going to have it out. [sign in to see URL] you all have a fabulous day!

MULADZH...don't you just love it when you can say..."what ever" in your life. That is when life is good... ♥ I used to be able to do that a lot. Not any more. Good luck with the truck..

FIRLE...pretty much all the flowers were already in the ground here when we moved in. They were horribly overgrown and needed some tender loving care.
Maybe you woke up and lay there enjoying your bed, as you Foster Father moved into his new 'space'...you know he's alright. ♥
So glad you saw your business as:

Funny enough, at the end I saw my business as a plushy, orange-yellow cube, utterly adorable, loving and lovable.

Now that is my kind of work! emoticon

SAIJEN...perhaps you don't need to be there at all. I know it's up to you. And I know you love the theater and the other people. But it sounds terribly harmful to your [sign in to see URL] promise if you begin to get sicker, or feeling more [sign in to see URL] you will REMEMBER what I said about that place.. ♥

Half of the new kitchen is looking good - the other half is still chaos - but it is coming on. Half is set up as the pantry, with shelves of long term storable foods on one shelf rack, and current use on another.. We will get it sorted out sometime.
