Re: April Springtime Chatter and Gossip

I need to take a few pictures, when the scullery is finished and we have some kind of order in the new kitchen.

I will be very happy when all of the work is done, finished and gone.. The house is ten times better than the day we bought it - just having bathrooms with taps that don't leak is wonderful - dripping water all night long is not very nice.

Re: April Springtime Chatter and Gossip

What a glorious day today. Temps got up into the low 80s, and man, did it feel wonderful!!!!

I had a 3pm appointment with my podiatrist. Not my most fun visit with him. The area he's been injecting is not really painful anymore, but as he was poking and prodding on my foot (since it still is causing a LOT of problems with pain), his thumb hit a spot just under the outside ankle bone, and it was so intense, I jerked my leg away from him, involuntarily. His response "I think we just found where the REAL problem may be. What you were feeling in that top area may have been radiated pain, [sign in to see URL]'ll shoot this area here under the ankle bone". [sign in to see URL] what????? [sign in to see URL] got everything ready, sprayed my foot with the freezing spray that feels like super heated needles hitting my foot, then I feel the pressure of the needle going [sign in to see URL], pain, from him trying to get it pushed in just a little [sign in to see URL], the pressure from the med as it's being forced into the [sign in to see URL], [sign in to see URL] PAIN!!!!!!!!!! He either hit a nerve, or an area so inflamed that just the needle or the medication touching it nearly made me pass out. Something that has NEVER happened before. I literally screamed it hurt so bad. He only got about 1/3 of the numbing med and steroid in there, but that was enough for me! Once my foot got really super numb, he asked if I wanted to attempt getting the rest in, and I immediately [sign in to see URL]'ll wait!!! Then, we got to picking at each [sign in to see URL] over me scaring patients away, me over the fact that he's bruised the hell out of my ankle with the [sign in to see URL] was kidding with him,but yes, my ankle is a nice shade of purply/black from the first 2 injections.

DH went with me, so, after, we grabbed a light bite to eat, then to Lowe's to get a small wire brush so I can clean some paint off some shudders my daughter will use for earring holders. Gotta work on those tomorrow. Then, to Walmart to get Keira some new sippy cups. She wore her 2 good ones out, so we've been using some others, but she can get liquid out of them, and made one HECK of a mess on my living room floor this morning. So, I bought her 4 of the no-leak kind like she had before! [sign in to see URL] her some of the cutest Hello Kitty [sign in to see URL], had to get those! LOL. Got some butter, and a binder for use at the theatre for volunteer sign-in sheets (which I was designing at about 4:30 this morning! [sign in to see URL] guess that was yesterday morning, now! [sign in to see URL]. Not done much since.

Firle,
I am hoping that the board doesn't end up creating more problems than it's trying to solve. And yeah, that guy's comment really hurt. Kind of took me back to my first marriage, where I was never good enough, smart enough or wise enough. I'm having to do some serious fighting to keep myself from going down that hole again. He has no clue what I came out of, but [sign in to see URL] would have NEVER said something like that to someone else. You never know where that person may have been, and what those few words could do to them. I've not said anything to anyone on the board about that [sign in to see URL] sure I will. In a way, it seems a bit [sign in to see URL] he just has no idea what he [sign in to see URL] just a little. If he felt that [sign in to see URL], he could have waited and said it in private to the President. [sign in to see URL], I may say something to the person who said it! I'll be nice about it, but he needs to know that words can not be taken back once [sign in to see URL] he needs to be careful with his words!!! ([sign in to see URL] at war with myself over this)

It sounds like you're perking along nicely, and have broken through some walls you were having some problems with! I'm really proud of you!!!! Sounds like you're really busy, too!!!! emoticon

Muladzh,
Most assuredly, there is more than one person on the board who does not like me. However, that is THEIR problem, and they can just get over it. For now, I am staying on, unless/until I can find something else to occupy my free time. I don't want to get into the rut I was in before I started volunteering at the theatre. I came too close to hitting a nasty depressive episode, so need something to do with my [sign in to see URL] a place where I can make some friends. I'll probably end up alienating many of the so-called friends I've made through the Arts [sign in to see URL] will stick with me and probably ditch the whole lot, too.

Queeny,
For now, I'll stick with the board and theatre. For how long is anyone's guess at this point. If things get any worse than they are, you can count on the fact that I will be handing everything over to them. Taking what is mine that I've paid for that was not donated to the theatre/council (2 space heaters and some other like items), and I'll dust my hands of it all, and let them see how well they do without me there.
I am about to get ugly with several people. DH and I had the office fixed SOOO nice, and now, it's a dump heap again. If someone can't find a place to put something, they just dump it in my office. [sign in to see URL] I'm there long enough, they'll not be able to keep doing that, as, a wall will be put up on the one open side and a new opening for an actual door, with a lock, will be put [sign in to see URL] the only people that will be allowed to have a key will be me, and the Treasurer, since the filing cabinet and checks and such are also in that office. I don't mind sharing with her, as long as she does NOT try to tell me how the office should be set up. She got the [sign in to see URL]'s not getting anything else from me!!!

I hope your dr. appointment goes well and he actually listens to you!!! It would not be good if your folks stopped asking for help!!
How is your Dad doing??????

To Texas, Becky, [sign in to see URL] you all are having a fabulous week so far. So hard to believe it's already Thursday! WOW!!!!!

You keep the filing cabinet and checks in an area everyone can enter?!

  emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

That needs to end right away! Even if they are in a locked place, this is not safe enough. Seriously.

Hope you can get your way, and people will appreciate your work and you as person.

FIRLE....WHOOHOO!! emoticon emoticon

Saijen....just so long as you remember what you [sign in to see URL] can be such a softy thinking of others all the time. emoticon

I hope your dr. appointment goes well and he actually listens to you!!! It would not be good if your folks stopped asking for help!!
How is your Dad doing??????

Dad is barely able to walk with his walker. emoticon
All the xrays, scans etc they did showed nothing that would cause his legs to get weak and basically atrophy so quickly. He's working with a physical therapist to try to strengthen his legs. But if he lets go of the [sign in to see URL], he's fallen several times.
But he keeps working. He actually does 'laps' around the house with his walker on nice days. But his legs are so weak he has to use his hands to lift them up, to like get them into the car.

And [sign in to see URL] is getting frail. She even said, "Bethy, I will need you to come cut my roses this year. I just don't have the strength to use the pruners."
But she also said this while we were raking and I was wheezing so bad, I think she's afraid to ask me again. emoticon That is why I have to have [sign in to see URL] can "FAKE" my back and toe not [sign in to see URL] not hide the wheezing...

Re: April Springtime Chatter and Gossip

[sign in to see URL] woke up to one heck of a storm around 3am this morning. LOVED it!! Went right back to sleep! LOL. Had another one hit around 9am. Now, it's kinda sunny outside. It's nice enough to have the doors open, again! YAY!!! emoticon

Ankle is a bit sore from the injection yesterday, but at least I know that will go away! I can handle that kind of pain a lot easier! lol

I sent a private message in FB to the guy who made the comment, and told him how it made me feel. I also told him that if he wanted to know WHY it made me feel that way, I'd be happy to sit down with him and tell him, but I'd not do it online. Not heard anything back yet. He is a rather busy guy (general manager of a historic Inn and pub here in town). I also sent an e-mail to the board President telling him that I was getting a bit tired of bits and pieces of MY jobs being taken away from me, and if it kept up, there would be no reason for me to stay. [sign in to see URL]'ll see what happens. He refused to accept another board member's resignation about a month ago, and refused to accept the new Treasurer's resignation as Treasurer at the last meeting, [sign in to see URL] he tells me to do whatever I have to do, then I'll know I need to get out while the getting's good. Queeny, yes, I am soft hearted, but when it gets stepped on this frequently, I turn into a rather hard hearted !@#$. I try to put things nicely, until/unless they're not being listened to and really [sign in to see URL], I start the screaming!! LOL.
What prompted the e-mail to the Pres. I had sent him an e-mail with a volunteer sign-in sheet that I had created, since we're trying to get volunteers to sign in and out and keep up with the time worked. This actually will help with getting more grant money and such. His reply was....'send the page to ****** since she's the one working on this'. HUH???? Since when? I thought it was actually voted on at the last meeting, that I would handle this, and set it up, since I AM the House Manager, and it's part of my job to get volunteers together for shows and events. What the hell did I miss??? [sign in to see URL]. The e-mail was nice, but very much to the point, leaving nothing to question about how I feel about all of this. Trust [sign in to see URL] am at the point, depending on his and the other guy's replies, I will either carry on, or I'll resign from EVERYTHING and they can have it all!!! I don't need or want to be around people if it's so obvious I'm not wanted. I have better things to do with my life.

Here in a [sign in to see URL] have to grab some old shutters and get old paint off for my daughter, so she can repaint them black. We're going to use them to hold her earring cards for the craft show on Saturday. Was the perfect thing for what we needed! emoticon I was happy we had not used them yet! LOL.

Firle,
Unfortunately, there is nowhere in the theatre that has a locked room to house the checks, filing cabinet and such. Bad thing [sign in to see URL] office has a staircase in it, that goes to the Legion, downstairs, and if the door at the bottom is not locked, anyone who is down there can go upstairs, unchecked! I had the guy who keeps up with downstairs lock that door, as it was unlocked for several weeks, and we both noticed some things either moved or missing. Not sure if it was someone downstairs that came up, or someone who should not have had a key to the upstairs (but had one anyway) who went downstairs for some reason. [sign in to see URL] plan is, if I'm still there, to build a wall parallel to the stairwell, making the office where no one can get in from that direction, and an actual door with a lock put into where a wall already exists. The only thing separating the office from the main floor is a black [sign in to see URL] yeah, anyone who is nosey enough can go into the office! The printer can work wirelessly, so I may put the printer in an unused corner outside of the office so that at least it's easily used by those who may be in rehearsal and such, but we need an actual office that only very few people have access to. The checks are kept in a keyed locking file cabinet, but heck, it's a cheap one, easily broken into. I kept the checks here at my own house, put away, which was a lot safer, [sign in to see URL] my call anymore! emoticon

Congrats on the new client with nibbles for another!!!!!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Queeny,
I'm really sorry that your Dad is having such a hard time. At least he's trying, and that's important!!
My Mom will be 80 in May, and she's not able to do nearly as much as she used to. It irks her to no end, but she's learned not to push the [sign in to see URL] will hire yard work and such done if she has to. I'd go do some for them if I lived closer. Sometimes I feel a bit guilty for not being closer to her and other family. Thankfully, they all understand that here is where I need to be, for my own health.

[sign in to see URL] like I need to get off here. My SIL has not yet been to the new house, so I may take him up there here shortly. I'm going to see if they will let him do the install for our DISH when we move, so that the money is going into HIS pocket instead of someone else's. The more money the kids can get, the sooner they can get their own place!!!!!! LOL (yes, ulterior motives!) emoticon

Y'all have a great rest of the day!!!

Re: April Springtime Chatter and Gossip

Woah, Saijen, it seems your theater needs a new president, one who can actually delegate and trust his committee members ... Ah, well. Just make sure this work doesn't hurt you.

 emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I feel very accomplished today: I spent half an hour before work setting up my "Daily Writer" book project in Scrivener. That's the perfect tool for such a non-fiction book. Now I have the chapters all structured and set up and can start writing the text for each chapter whenever I have a bit of free time - and then copy it into Scrivener. And if I feel a chapter or sub-topic should go elsewhere, I can just move it around easily.

I love these bursts of creativity!

I love Scrivener, too!

Weather started out lovely, but now it's back to overcast gray. *sigh* Hope I can enjoy some sun on the balcony during the weekend.

Today the truck is in the transmission shop - don't know how much it will cost, but it needs doing. Phase two of the plumbing is set for today - nobody arrived yet, but they are not the best communicators.. Good workers, useless at arriving on time. Oh well.

It will be so good to have all this work done and finished, I am getting tired of living in a construction zone.

Firle, Sounds exciting - keep it up.. I love Scrivener too - it is the easiest way of writing a book. I have written three since I got it. Not published them, but then I hardly ever do.
